maguirew Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Hi Folks, Im new to the world of airsoft, infact I'd never even heard of it until my doctor mentioned it to me. I'll be scooting through the pinned topics because im sure they'll answer all the questions I have, just thought I'd introduce myself. Cheers Wayne

maguirew Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 Both were great reads gents cheers. I've seen a few sites around me (West Yorks) Cerberus, Fear Masters and Go Balistic, anybody know which is the best of these? Tempted to stay away from GoBalistic as I think it may have a corporate feel to it
Baz JJ Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Im intrigued. What on earth caused your doctor to mention Airsoft to you ?
maguirew Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 I'm overweight mate, doctor said it would be a good way lose some of my love railings, and he does it himself
Baz JJ Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Ha. Yes when I started the owner of the site seemed a little suspicious. I think he thought I was a journalist doing an expose on the wicked sport of Airsofting, He asked me what made me want to start Airsofting. I told him to keep fit. I went skirmishing with my son the other day and was inwardly pleased when he ended up more knackered than me.
maguirew Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 Well when I got home afterwards I looked it up on Google watched a couple of vids and it looks awesome. Got my boots on there way and looking which site to book on for first. Hire until I can get a defence licence but will start buying other equipment after the first time I go.
Baz JJ Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Enjoy. Get a few games under your belt and then assess what kit you need in priority. I rented different guns to see which style I liked and the first thing I bought was my own face protection.
Mike636 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I've been to Cerberus plenty of times, I know they use Go Ballistic's site in Halifax but I didn't know Go Ballistic ran games them selves, if you go to Cerberus let me know and I'll give you a few pointers!
maguirew Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 Well I've decided to go ahead and book the next available game with Cerberus (as I've heard they're the best). Its at their new site called The Works in Halifax on 15th of Sept. Gutted I have to wait so long but the Sandpit next weekend is fully booked.
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted September 1, 2013 Supporters Posted September 1, 2013 Oh mate, BB hits will give you all the incentive you need to move your arse. It does the trick for me - if it wasn't for airsoft i'd have turned into humpty dumpty with matchstick arms and legs by now Welcome and enjoy!
maguirew Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 To be honest I'll probs be the stereotypical newbie running round, out of breath, out of ammo, shouting 'ay ho silver away!!!!' Apologies in advance if any of you have to witness it, you have my permission to tell me to 'shut the f**k up'
