Jellybaby
Hi guys!Just getting into airsoft and choosing my first gun to take to Skirmishes. I have my eyes on an SRC G36C gen 2, and have heard only good things about the gun apart from a slight mag wobble, if anyone could shed some light on them as to what they're like truthfully that would be great! I am looking to upgrade some internal parts in the near future, I plan on a tight-bore barrel, maybe a 6.03mm from Madbull, or a 6.02mm from Deep Fire, a systema hop bucking rubber, and a G&P M120 motor. Not sure if I can get the motor without going over the 350fps limit though so may cross that one off the list. I live near Swindon, Oxfordshire/ Wiltshire border so I will be looking to go to the sites in Swindon, but will be moving to the midlands sometime next year. Will be nice to hear from you guys, im sure someone will have something to say about the G36c whether it's good or bad i'm all ears! Or eyes in this case but you get what i mean... Supporters sp00n Posted August 28, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 28, 2013 welcome to the forum mate i have/am having a bad experience with a G&P M120, gets really hot and struggles with a SP100 spring!
Baz JJ
Its a nice gun. They are quite heavy though if you are small. I hear the Gen3 version is better..

Jellybaby
Thanks guys, sp00n, i'll give that motor a miss then! Yeah, I had heard they had a weight to them, but I'll see how it goes. And I have a budget of £350 to buy everything, gun, ammo, mags, batteries, clothing, protection etc so trying to keep the cost of the gun down a little bit, but since I already have a red-dot sight, I may aswell spend the extra money on the gen 3! Any opinions on what tight-bore to get for the aeg without having a big ish increase in fps? I dont have a chrono to hand so cant test...

Jellybaby
dont mod your first gun, till its out of warrenty i am looking at a lonex A2 motor next Mmm a year with a stock gun Be good to see how that motor performs. Where's a good place to get good bb's? Thinking 0.20g and a tub of 10k from JBBG - Bulldog bb's. And how many spare mags would I need, considering they're hi-cap 470 round mags... NO NO NO avoid JBBG!! i use ASG blaster 0.25's (highly regarded) in my G&G CM16 Raider L, i got them from land warrior 2 or 3 hi caps max at the start ... thought i have 8 now lol
Jellybaby
What's wrong with JBBG? I've bought from there before and they've been fine? Was very pleased with the BB's i bought, the D90h i bought was shockingly bad but wasn't expecting much for 40 odd quid... Might try the Elite Force 0.2's just because it works out less for more bb's, Tenner for 5 thousand doesnt sound too bad and have heard they are good (levelcapgaming on youtube)
Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 if you are going to spend £100++ on a gun please put good bb's through it do a search for JBBG's on here, loads of threads about them. i too have a pice of junk/ well D90H, when i complained that it was not as advertised (bb's would roll out of the barrel and did not shoot at all), and didn't actually work, they completely ignored me, and wouldn't answer my calls/emails etc. worst customer service/products ever! (i am not normally a snob, but i have learned the hard way)
Jellybaby
Oh right haha, never knew anything bad about them like that! Will never be putting bad bb's through it, especially if it has a tight-bore, - which will also be cleaned regularly. My D90H was alright, worst accuracy i've ever seen and didn't have a great rate of fire, it was stock and cheap at the end of the day, but expected a little better. Can only find the Gen 3 on JBBG, and I dont want to wait up to 2 weeks to get it after being sent of and painted. Grr, not sure what to do now lol
Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 please dont use them have a look in "where to buy" forum places such as :- http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/index.php?cPath=268_318_453 land warrior action hobbies fire support just a to name a few
Jellybaby
Nah, wont use them. Just trying to find a place where I can get a black one painted. Land Warrior do the JG g36c but dont paint them, so not there, Zero one do the SRC, paint it, but dont have the gen 3, and action hobbies do the SRC black one but painted 51% green and gen 3 for a good price but they're out of stock. God dangit! May just have to get the Gen 2 off Zero one and a spare mag at the same time. See how bad the accuracy is first before buying a barrel. What would be the best size tight-bore to get for an aeg?
Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 i thought it was the gen 2 you was after? in your original post its the gen 2 you said you wanted
Jellybaby
I half changed my mind but half not at the same time, I said I wanted a gen 2 due to me being on a budget, but then realised that i dont need to spend around 40-50 quid on a sight so thought i could put that money towards a better made gun. I'll take either though, but I think i'll go for the one off Zero one
Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 arrr i c, might i offer a suggestion (these are from my experiences) get a G&G combat machine from zero one (free 2tone and a free skirmish), they come with a 1 year warranty (zero one are offering a year warranty on all G&G rifles .. see there webby for details), and they (G&G combat Machine) are recommended for lots of reasons ... but there cheap, there very very good, and i can see no reason why they wont outlive there warranty by along shot. i know you wanted a G36, i wanted a L86 ... but i love my Raider, and cannot see me parting company with it. Jellybaby
Always open to suggestions! Will have to be a good gun for me to choose it over a G36c though! Will check it out
Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 They are if you was anywhere near me i would gladly let you have a go with mine, as its best to try before you are with £££, hell you may not like them ..... highly unlikely though
Jellybaby
haha! Yeah I like them! Cheap too, what fps do they shoot when standard?
Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 i have seen 353 (before the hop was set) to 315 .... normally around the 320's to 330's with 0.2's (i leave my hop set for 0.25's, better range, very slightly less effected by wind, but more penetration through under growth lol), but its the range ... they put alot of more expensive guns to shame. I also have my gun "over hopped" for that little bit extra range (allows me to harass snipers lol)
Jellybaby
Mmmm You may have changed my mind. As long as it sits comfortably under 350fps with 0.2's that's fine. Not sure what 'over hopped' and setting the hop means (newbie to airsoft). God, I should go to bed soon lol Just seen a video on youtube of the g&g raider and it had a nice tight grouping on a target, but his fps was around 375 on avg, which is why i asked before getting all excited about deciding on getting it.. Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 never seen my FPS that high sorry to go into basics, but its easier ... hop re-fairs to the method bb guns use for bb's to "over come gravity", giving a far extended range. The method basically is by applying back spin to the bb's (there is a technically name etc, but its wayy too late/early in the morning) the end result is too little hop, the bb falls short, too much and it heads for the sky ..... there is a fine line, yet if you "over hop" you gun, as the bb travels out of the barrel, and after a distance, the bb kinda jumps up alittle, giving say 10% (made up figure) extra distance, (at the cost of a few FPS) before falling. i kinda sounds all made up, but trust me this which craft works lol
Jellybaby
Oooooohhh i understand now! So thats what the hop up does as the bb is fired, adds back spin. Well, time to research upgrades for this gun then!
Supporters sp00n Posted August 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 29, 2013 all i have done to mine is add RIS armour, a grip pod, and a ACOG tyle sight with 20mm riser ..... oooh and a sling
Jellybaby
Yeah, i'll wait till i have it before i jump to conclusion on what to buy. Most likely buy a foregrip as i prefer the more tactical feel.
