Hello Everyone!

Just finishing off another article on www.airsoftoperator.com , check it out if you've not before and I've become a little stuck with G36c models as the majority of those avaliable in the UK are rebranded so I've no idea how they perfrom for a newbie with little experience so aside from the JG G36c can anybody else recommend a model of G36c for me please, round about the £160 mark.

Cheers

Mike

Well, if you really want a quality G36c. The best thing you can but would be an ARES G36cv

I understand that this is £40 over budget, but bare in mind that if you are going to buy a RIF you really want quality. ARES tend to be one of the best manufacturers for the G36 series. The benefits you gain with this G36 is that you have that front rail space, 2 stocks (one sniper, believe me that's a hell of a lot better and worth around £70) You also have a bit of blowback if you're into that kind of thing. If not its a simple thing to turn off. If I were you I'd recommend that you look at some of the reviews and really think about spending that extra £40 for the quality of your RIF. There's really no need to upgrade this rifle as it really is all quality internals. The only thing you may need to do is lower the FPS.

I bought an umarex g36 for my first gun.

Fantastic performance, but mine was slightly unreliable until it had been re-wired.

It's great now though. Blowback is pretty good too

SRC gen III are decent but would benefit from new hop bucking and unit.

I disagree. The hop unit on the Gen III is fine, but yeah the rubber needs replacing from stock. One thing I will say about the hop unit is that the pin which is pushed onto the rubber is longer than the standard type - I didn't find this out until I lost mine - you can't buy them on their own, so I had to buy a whole new hop unit (a plastic one for £12 rather than the more expensive metal one), and this is when I also discovered that the unit is a slightly different shape to the TM compatible type too. It works fine though.

I was disappointed to discover that the piston is a POM type with a single steel tooth however. All the same, the gears come shimmed, and the piston head is a decent aluminium one with bearings, so I doubt the piston will get damaged easily.

It shoots well and is robust. Like all G36's with a skeleton stock, changing the battery in the foregrip is a bit of a pain in the arse, and it makes the front body pin get loose, which is then more easily lost. I'd recommend replacing it with a locking one, or the type with a sling mount ring.
