I stumbled across this a few days ago: http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/gun.asp?page=bunker51

Its in London but the cool part I noticed is:

If you are looking to get yourself onto the UKARA database and want to buy a gun without having it two-toned, Wolf offers a Hire-Purchase scheme. When you buy a gun from us under this scheme, we will hold the gun on our premises and bring it along to the skirmish site for you each time you pre-book to play. Then, when you have reached the criteria for your UKARA registration, you can simply take the gun home with you. This will save you having to pay the gun hire each time you play saving up to £75.

So you can basically buy your gun and then use it there until you have your UKARA and can take it home.

Hi Insanityx, yes I saw that wolf armouries did that! Nice!

I'm just wondering if an indoor QCB inviroment is a good place for three newbies to take their first steps into airsoft?

well, wolf aka bunker 51, isnt what you would call fast paced, camping a botle neck and just every one going full auto on one door in the hope of getting some one.....thats what I hear any way. yet to play bunker 51 my self.

although the hire thing is pretty nifty.

Da_Sheriff has it spot on. I've played Bunker 51 and yes it can be fast paced and intense, but it is also monotonous in the sense that one end of the site creates a bottle neck that is hardly ever broken. Games then become dull and they should run the games only on semi auto rather than full auto. Wolf do run a good scheme to purchase your RIF, but they can be expensive. Another thing to bear in mind is that the skirmish will cost £25 - £30 for 2-3 hours game time, rather than £20 that most other sites charge for around 5-6 hours of game time.

Hmmm, so Bunker 51 isn't that good?

Can you recomend any other places in/around London?

Try Anerley or New Addington in Croydon, both sites are run by TWA and they're a good bunch.

You should look at this Airsoft map for sites near you. I recently played at Dragons Lair in Brentwood, Essex. It cost £20 for the day's skirmish so it's great value for money and they really know how to look after you.

Where about in London are you based?

Check out that map I mentioned (Link was provided) as there are a few sites between Bedfordshire and West London.

Good luck and remember to enjoy yourself and take your hits! :D

Heard good things about Dropzone but not sure about the others. Find the site names and search for them on the forum and you might find that someone has done a review on the sites.

A group of us go to Dropzone, good mix of people, well organised and marshals are good. Very friendly and most helpful for beginners. They have a good site, about 25 acres with some old buildings, forest, scrub and trenches. Best site we have been to and you can do a half day for £15 if you dont want to spend all day playing. They play on Saturday. Rental stuff looks good if needed. Found Bunker 51 a bit....mad, and felt price was a bit £££.

Easy to get to as just off M25 and Mac D's just opposite for morning rations and they have a burgur van on site. As with most sites you really need to come by car or try to arrange a lif, but contact them if a problem and I'm sure they will help out.

Well worth a visit, good games and well run.

I go to AWA Herts which is a woodland site just outside Bishops Stortford my mates and I always have fun there. Rental equipment is £45 but includes gun, lunch, 3000 bb's, clothing and walk on fee. Funnily enough i live just around the corner from dropzone and never gone to it. i have a vid on youtube if you want to get a feel for what its like.

Epsom has Elite Action Games Epsom, a collection of underground tunnels from WW2. its supposed to be good, I've never played it but I've played 2 of their 5 sites pretty regularly over the last year and they are always amazing!
