There have been approximately 90 kajillion topics to this effect over the last few months alone.

If you'd looked through the correct section it would've been immediately apparent <_<

Basically, if you don't have UKARA and you paint a two tone black, you are manufacturing a replica imitation firearm, and thus breaking the law.

Once you have UKARA you can go mad and do what you want.

Use the search feature in future.

Yes, it applies to you making the gun look more real.

If you don't have UKARA and you make a gun look real, you're breaking the law, because you lack the defence required to entitle you to it.

There are actually other defences, but if you're able to use those instead, you'd be equally eligible for UKARA, so it's just easiest to stick with UKARA as that's what the retailers operate by.

hi im am going to buy a gun but i have to get it painted two tone if i upgrade all the green parts out or removed the paint/spray it am i breaking the law, thanks will

If you are ov er 18 years old then why not wait until you have played 3 games over not less than two months and then register with UKARA so that you can buy a RIF online with minimal fuss.?

UKARA is not essential and the VCRA does not stipulate the 3 games over 2 months _ BUT it is so easy to comply with this and the retailers have the scheme so why not go along with it?

Now, once you have established a valid defence by being able to proove that you skirmish at a site with third party insurance (which lets you register with UKARA) you can buy a RIF from anywhere in the world and/or paint your two-tone all black (or any coulour of camo you want).

If you are under 18 then you can not even buy a two-tone and painting it all black would be aginst the VCRA rules.

The VCRA is quite draconian is so far as it sstates:-

36Manufacture, import and sale of realistic imitation firearms(1)A person is guilty of an offence if—

(a)he manufactures a realistic imitation firearm;

(b)he modifies an imitation firearm so that it becomes a realistic imitation firearm;

©he sells a realistic imitation firearm; or

(d)he brings a realistic imitation firearm into Great Britain or causes one to be brought into Great Britain.

Theis law may seem daft whren you consider that you can but RIFs idf they are air-guns so long as you are over 18 and buy in a face-to-face transaction. However, air guns are considered low powered fire ams and covered by seperate legislation. UKARA did quite a good job in getting the sport a valid defence along with re-enactment groups, films and theatre etc.

High because i'd Report you as would any self respecting member of Modern society.

Via your approach to trying to Circumvent the Law i think you should wait for 3 year's then see if your eligible to have something that could get you into serious shit!

BTW the Forum rules say NOT to talk about how to break the law and get away with it so Read them aswell.
