  1. I've just had a go with a friends cheapo mid cap and the feed was perfect! I felt the resistance whilst loading again about 2 thirds of the way through but no derps which is the main thing. It also fit the magwell much better.
  2. Hmm, Maybe I just have a couple of duff mags? As you reach maximum capacity should you feel more resistance than say the first 2 thirds of the mag?
  3. hehe, yeah I checked it says 120 on the bottom
  4. I bought 2 of the G&G mid caps thinking they would be perfect but compaired to a real cheapo one they don't compare! The high cap that came with it, as you say is really good and if I wanted to go down that route i'd consider buying more. I'll try the whole silicone down the feed tube, what i'm noticing is that after the 85th BB you can feel the spring getting much tighter and it seems like that's the point you have to stop. Any more creates the Derp problem
  5. After yesterday's testing of my T4, reading this sort of sounds familiar except... I set up a target at 30m, like you the BB's were going about 3-4 ft each way. Luckily my friend is in the Cadets and he allowed me to use the indoor firing range (30m tunnels with no draught) I set up a target (A4 piece of paper) and shot about 1000 BB's into it. Concidering it was my first real go with the gun i'd say about two thirds were hitting the paper. Having spoken to my local shop and jay83 i'm going to switch to a .28g for outside use as it's looking like the wind may have been causing the horizontal variation. The other issue I had was with the G&G mid cap mags. They say they hold 120 bb's yet if you put anything over 85 in (Yep I hand counted them) the first 35 are "derping" out of the barrel and are barely reaching 10 meters. When the mag is filled with (Upto) 85 BB's I can full auto the lot without any issues!
  6. OK, I just bought the MAG 8 pack (Last one). I take it that they should work better?
  7. Cool, Can I ask, I've been having a problem where if I fill the G&G 120 round madcap mags the first 20 or so round pretty much roll out of the barrel then after that it's fine! Is that a general thing with Mid caps or is that juts the G&G's ?
  8. Cool, What mags do you use? I was hoping to use the G&G Mid caps but if you can only really use 85 BB's out if 120 I was thinking about trying something else!
  9. So... I'm now the owner of a Gen 3 G&G T4-18. First off I noticed that the G&G mags are fairly tight in the Mag well, nothing more than just a slight whack to properly seat it, releasing it just takes a small tug. Internally the Hop is definately different to the gen 2. It's a metal body with a silver barrel rather than the brass one of the Gen 2. I've had a good play with it and the only issue I'm having is that a 120r G&G mag will "Derp" the first 30 or so shots meaning that you only want to put in 85-90 BB's in.
  10. Hi all, I've just got my first AEG, It's a G&G T4-18 (Gen 3). I've been googling hop up settup but there's no one that really answers my question. I suppose really there's a couple of questions so I'll split them down and ask them individually: 1: When you're setting your hop, what range are you aiming to hit something at? e.g., do you set up a target at "X" feet and adjust to hit it? 2: What kind of range should I be expecting to be accurate at? I set up (At a local Air cadets gun range) an A4 paper at 30 meters, and set my hop so that I was able to hit it. Is that a good range or should I be expecting more? I've been told that the target should be at about 45 meters, is that too much? I was using the gun as standard with .20g Blaster pellets. Another question I was going to ask is do people tend to use .23g for outdoor use to help compensate for crosswinds? Any help appreciated
  11. I think I may just take it up with paypal! The crappy Chin-glish responce I had together with the fact that it's been over infact 12 weeks (i checked) plus I've had stuff that I ordered before arrive! means this is not a feasable site! I thought I did the UK site, maybe not!
  12. Sorry to necro this subject but I've ordered a LiFe battery about 8 weeks ago, as of yet nothing has turned up! I've ordered stuff from China before and the speed of service has been anything from 3 days to 6 weeks, this now seems excessive. How much longer shall I wait before contacting paypal?? (I have already contacted Hobbyking and they said that it's shipped, really bloody helpful!)
  13. Bloody hell!!! That sounds like the kind of issue I have with pretty much everything man made! Well, in the next few weeks I'll have two of them and I'll have a thorough test to see if I have the same issues! I'm amazed by what you're saying !
  14. Quite worrying that it was tight even with the G&G mags!! I'm also alarmed to hear about the hop-up! I thought that the Top tech G&G hop ups were pretty legendary?
  15. I see! So you really are paying for a re-wire and a cheapo Mosfet? blimey! I can see why the Gen 2 would still be appealing! especially if you don't want to run a higher voltage Lipo. Frustrating as there's no real visual differences, I can see that causing a whole retail nightmare! This is my friend in the US holding what will shortly be in my hands, it was bought for a good price and I can't offend my good friend by turning it down, I have no idea if it's the Gen 2 or 3!
  16. Ah, all very confusing! i get what you're saying about the extra price for the wiring compaired to the Gen 2, I take it the selling points of: -New high torque motor -Tight bore barrel -upgraded hop unit were they the sales points used in the Gen 2? So, what mags are the correct ones?
  17. When you say Magpul Pmags, does that mean even the G&G: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-magazines-c3/mid-standard-capacity-c52/g-g-g-g-120-round-mid-cap-magazine-for-gr16-m4-black-p3421 Would they not fit then in the Gen 2? From the Product description it looks like the wiring grade has been upped so it may be a case of comparing the 2? Can I also ask, Why would you get the Gen 2?
  18. Hmm, is it literally just the Mosfet that makes them different internally, From the Land warrior site: "Note the lower receiver now has an M4 style Mag well. Generation 3 model with improved hop unit, barrel, wiring (with added MOSFET) and motor." I've done a couple of wirinig jobs outside of the Airsoft world, would it be fairly simple to add a Mosfet? They don't really cost much, just a case of getting the correct one!
  19. Hi all, So I'm pretty new to this but I have question regaurding the title gun. Are there any visual differences between these 2 guns? I mean from the outside. I'm not sure but the only thing I've spotted in several pics is the addition of a white painted "TT" logo on the newer Gen 3 version. Is there any quick test I can do if I had both side by side? Any help appreciated It's pretty confusing as I think several websites are using stock pics which are a couple years old.
  20. Funnily enough he's trying to find out the exact wording now
  21. Just to add, the gun will be broken down as much as it can be. I'm sure customs know what to look for but there won't be any respective parts e.g. gearbox and lower receiver in 2 different boxes
  22. Thanks! It's odd as my oldest friend is in the Met police and is licenced to carry a real firearm, I was talking to him last night and he was unsure if he could even legally buy one lol? I realize that the whole UKARA thing is to control people that have an RIF. I can promise you that IF this does work apart from testing it in private at a local cadet firing range I will be keeping it descreetly locked up and it won't be coming out till I get to my local Gamesite.
  23. Will do, I know it's risky and I may end up with egg all over my face but it's all in motion now!
  24. Hehe, maybe a bit of both..... just a bit fatter
