1. Ahh ok then, I bow to your superior experience of 'customised' 'upgraded' guns shooting further and more accurately than stock ones.

I've not been doing this long you see.

Your sarcasm makes me laugh my friend, but is there any need? I'm simply going by what all these airsoft websites say is "good for your gun", "an essential upgrade", " increases the range and accuracy of your airsoft gun". I'm no airsoft veteran that's been playing it since the ice age. I simply play to have fun with my son. Nothing wrong with spending money to make it a little bit better and letting it last longer.

I only asked for help with a MOSFET and what their purpose is and this post only got to gearbox internals when someone explained hard wiring. This is new to me, I do not own twenty airsoft guns, I do not dissemble gearboxes for fun, I know very little about airsoft I just play for fun.

So please take your sarcastic comments elsewhere as its not needed for someone simply asking for help and going by what I hear.

  2. Ah but do you need to improve it?

what's wrong with a 'stock gun'? My M4 is internally stock (with the exception of the inner barrel) and it's fine. You're not going to get massive game-changing gains by sticking new bits in, it's all marginal.

It's those small changes that make a big difference. Apart from helping it function better and last longer, it will perform that little bit better than everyone else's AEG. Giving you an advantage on the battlefield.

  3. if it's already a very nice weapon why are you considering cocking about with it?

Visually it is nice, internally it's just the same as any other stock gun, you want to improve it.

  4. Can you solder? It's really NOT that hard.

You could try Kingdon of Airsoft in Dundee http://www.kingdomofairsoft.com/

In my entire 38 years alive I have not once soldered anything.. Pretty bad huh?

But of course, there are other factors stopping me doing it myself. Such as, I have no idea how to disassemble my TM AK, and I have no knowledge on AEG gearboxes. I will just end up turning it to turd, breaking a very nice weapon.

  5. Changing the connectors to deans just involves removing the tamiya connectors from the wires that connect to your battery and the on the batteries themselves and then soldering on some deans ones.

A good airsoft tech can do this an fit a mosfet for you.

I have the newer KK2 version of that FET and it does do some cool stuff as plug and play (burst fire for example) but not the things you're looking for. If you go to the manufacturers website you can download a copy of the manual http://www.aegwizard.com/uploads/BURST_WIZARD_KING_KONG_SUPER_user_manual_7_0.pdf

You program it by a number of trigger pulls and the LED flashes to confirm what you've done.

It's a nice FET but you do really need it hardwired.

I see. So hard wired is the only way to go by the sounds of it. Also, an airsoft tech is out of the question because I live in the north east of Scotland and there isn't a airsoft shop anywhere near me.

Any ideas on who could do it?

  6. As above. You need to wire any mosfet into your trigger contacts to gain any usefulness out of it. A basic fet will give you the increased trigger response and save your trigger contacts from burning out. More expensive ones will give you programmable features such as the btc ones. All require getting intimate with the inside of your gearbox. You should also change your battery connections to deans.

You've linked a set of deans connectors.

A plug and play mosfet won't do any of the things you're asking for. In fact, a plug and play mosfet doesn't really do anything other than burst fire.

In order to improve your trigger response with a mosfet you need it to bypass your trigger contacts which can only be done by hard wiring. As for trigger sensitivity, that's a mechanical issue that you can fix with a new trigger or by bending the contacts inside the gun. Monitoring the spring position directly can't be done with any off the shelf product at the moment, there are mosfets that can monitor the position of the sector gear though, which is just as good. The BTC spectre and chimera units both do those things amongst a wide variety of features. They're not cheap though and fitting them requires a certain level of technical knowledge.

This is all very confusing. Any idea who could do all this for me and how I change my connectors to deans?

  7. Hello all,

Thanks to a very nice member of this forum I have found a "plug and play" MOSFET which will be used in my newly aquired Tokyo Marui AKM.

    Link to the MOSFET below.

So this has got me questioning things. I'm certainly no airsoft tech guy so I cannot "hard wire" it as it says you need to do to get full features. However, I'm not really too bothered about burst fire and that. I'm more concerned about what the plug and play will do and how can I adjust the settings of rate of fire, sensitivity, and spring advance. I'm ultimately trying to get best sensitivity from pulling the trigger and a higher rate of fire as well as helping the guns durability with lipo's etc...

Could someone with some MOSFET/ electrical knowledge please elaborate this product and tell me some more? I assume it must be pretty common because of its simplistically.

Also, can someone please explain the purpose of this in relation to the MOSFET?

    Thanks!

  8. Hi Undieing_Lust, fellow Northern Ireland player here!

    How about something different?

A&K PKM. You will be the envy of everybody! Or what about an LCT AS VAL? A russian loadout can be pretty cheap to build up aswell and you can look like an absolute badass in Russian gear.

I haven't been to Green Zone yet, but hope to take a trip up someday over the summer if work permits.

    Have fun spending your money!

Did you mean me? It was me asking for advice haha. Anyway you mentioned a PKM, any place you know sells them? Also I'd love some Russian gear so if you could recommend some that would be great.

  9. Apart from basic did you enjoy your time in the army?

Like most things, there was a lot of nice times with my platoon and many bad times. I remember once on a trip to another area one of our Mastiff's which is an armoured transport vehicle broke down and at the worst possible spot as there was a compound about half a mile to our southeast. We stated taking fire from a treeline just to the right of it. Typical. There was literally no cover or ditches so we all had to cram behind a MWMIK which is another armoured vehicle we used. There was a lieutenant whos identity I shall not reveal for his own privacy, who got hit in the thigh during this. He was a good guy though and actually took it pretty well after a argument with the medic about whether it hit his c*ck or not. Luckily though there were actually Americans in the and area and before we knew it about seven humvees and APC's came along the road which gave us enough time to tow the Mastiff away. Those Americans are crazy with their trigger fingers though. The parked up and all seven vehicles gunners started blasting this tree line.

We occasionally ran into a lot of American troops over there and spend quite a bit of time with them. That was just one memory and although I explained it sounding like it lasted ten odd minutes it actually lasted around two and a half hours.

  10. Most of my family have ex-millitary service. grandad on my mums side was Royal signals and served in Germany for a number of years untill the Berlin wall came down. grandad on my dads side was Royal artillery. did a week up in ballykinler and they really love the PT.

Yeah same with my family, my brother is still in the army and my grandad on my mothers side was a tank commander in world war 2. My grandad on my fathers side was a prison officer at the same prison featured in the original Italian Job.

  11. Them young whippersnappers and their beast mode XD and Thank you for your service to protect our freedom. I dont really like bullpup weapons but I can see why people love them. My friend swears by his L85

Thank you, it was really though, asides from basic training being hell because all the Sargent's and higher ranks were utter cu*ts, 3 months in Afghanistan running and patrolling in 30 - 40°c with all your gear was a nightmare. I was your standard rifleman, nothing special but still got a fair amount of action. Sometimes not in the good way.

  12. Same internals as the normal L86 just longer Barrel length, again out of stock. £365 for the gun. LWA also out of stock and Zero one airsoft out of stock...

My friend does this "beast mode" and runs around with an A&K M60 Vietnam. Crazy but effective. I know the L86 is a support weapon though as I served in the military when I was 19 all the way to 31. LSW as you may know stands for light support weapon. I just loved the L85 when I served and remember the L86 being very similar.

  13. oops sorry, didn't read carefully enough. Why not try say an l85? or an AK variant. I find the G&G rk103 evo to be sexy asf imo

    You could get an ICS Sig 551LB MRS, G&G GK5C-L G&G FN2000 ICS L85

Sadly for the two G&G guns I could not find any place that has them in stock.

I personally would love an ICS L85, they get good reviews but I can't find it in stock for a reasonable amount.

  14. G&G scar Ls are very nice, my mate has one. The only problem is that they are quite hot, and would need a lower spring otherwise you wouldn't be able to skirmish. I like the G&P/TM m4's. They are meant to be great and very durable. Finally, the G&G cm16 carbine would do nicely for your mate, I have one and they are very good quality imo for the price you pay. Hope this helps :)

I already have a CM16 I'm afraid and like I said above in the actual post, I don't want another M4, M16, or anything AR-15 based. Thank you for the post though.

  15. CYMA CM.048, damn durable.

if you for some reason do not like AKs.. just get any G&P, good guns and fairly durable.

oh and I agree with above with barrel length.. my CA B&T mp5k shot further and straighter at the same fps than most m4/m16/ak at the site I used to play at.

Oh no I love AK's! That's what £110 is going towards. I bought an AK from a fellow member of this forum. I'm just looking for a nice gun to complete my arsenal. I have a R700, soon to have an AKM, and got an M4 so just looking for a final good gun to use as a backup or primary if it's good enough. By backup I mean if my primary fails I can use it instead rather than going around with a pistol.

I was thinking of an ICS L86a2 LSW or a G&G RK74n as its pretty cool battery design despite being another AK replica.

  16. Hello all,

I'm reaching out to you guys to ask for some advice on buying a good electric gun. I'm selling my old Audi S-Line wheels on Gumtree for £450 and and planning to spend it on an airsoft gun. Now, anything£110 or below will be going to a fellow member on this forum. So my budget is pretty much £340ish.

    Can you guys suggest a good gun to buy for that kind of money that has;

    - Good out of the box performance

    - Long inner barrel (aka not a PDW or carbine)

    - Electric obviously

    - Shoots quickly with good trigger response

    - Durable gearbox that needs minimal maintenance

Like I mentioned above, I'm looking for a rifle as my local field is woodland and engagement distances are pretty far. I'm also looking for something other than a AR-15 style weapon as everyone and their mothers tend to own one (including me) and would like a little variety.

I do not mind if it comes with or without a battery I have one at home. Also, it has to be a RiF/ UKARA gun.

If you have a any advice on a good gun that you could recommend I'd be grateful to hear from you below.

    Thanks you!
