Cheers guys, not sure when ill have the funds for the rails, will definitely share a picture once i think its done!

Nice! Yeah would def need the barrel nut off to fit the mounting plate for that, presume you're fitting a new outer barrel too? Or will the silencer fit inside the new rail?
I'm going to try and make a carbon fibre outer barrel on a lathe, will hopefully be able to fit a flash hider on the end of it to, looking forward to it all!

No worries, G&P seem to be very tightly put together, at least it stops things working loose though! I wouldn't recommend undoing the barrel nut unless you have to as getting it back tight so the rail sits square to the receiver is a real pain. Also the pin at the front of the lower receiver that holds the upper receiver in place is notoriously tight on G&P's needing great care to remove it if you need to get them apart.
Think i may need to take it to the work shop, there is not way i can get it off with my hands. i'm planning on changing the whole rails to one of these...
-
shouldn't be too difficult in theory, unscrew the silencer (not sure if its positive or negative thread. on G&P) then unscrew the delta ring (between receiver and rail) by turning anticlockwise looking from front of gun (delta ring can be very tight on G&P though!), once unscrewed the rail should then slide forward off the barrel, note there should be (if its same as the clone) 2 short steel "pins" which may fall out, don't lose these as they align the rail with holes in the barrel retaining nut which should be still attached to the receiver (this nut also retains the delta ring in place). Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot straffham, the ring is ridiculously tight, that's the reason i was unsure, will have to try and get it off, cheers!

Not sure whether i'm being a complete idiot with this problem or not, I literally haven't found any help on how to remove these rails. I'm not sure whether the even come off, any advice of you guys or a link to help would be much appreciated, Gun is a G&P Spec Ops, Thanks

The torch I am going to be using is the Led Lenser PSE so I will need where the bulb sits to be able to move. I think I will laser cut some safety goggles and do what you did to yours. For torch protection refer to the opening post in this thread
I ended up taking the protective cap off as It looks alot better without it. I'll regret it one day when I have no torch..

Just had a look for some polycarbonate for sale, that stuff isn't cheap! I can ask my tech teachers if they know where to get it cheap when then order stuff in. Also how do you guys apply the PET to say you're 551 replica, do you use glue to stick it down or different stuff?3M 1621 Protective Goggle Glass Clear Lens Anti-Impact Anti-Splash
You sometimes find these going really cheap on fleabay - i bought a pair to cut up for my C8 torch and my 551 replica - just haven't got round to it yet
If anyone knows where to buy 2-3mm polycarbonate sheets cheaper, please let us know.
-
Thanks, will look at getting some and cutting it for the protection, the torch in the pictures is rubbish, will get my good one on it soon enough, wouldn't want it breaking.Pet bottles are too thin for that IMHO.
Use polycarbonate. (That's what protective glasses/goggles are made of) 2mm thick is enough.
-
Is that the material that bottles are made of?The issue with most acrylics is they will still shatter with a luckily placed bb shot. The beauty of PET is it remains flexible and should be less vulnerable to damage and it's free.
-
My new torch got "shot out" in the first 10 min .... Poo! But it still works and managed to replace the lense with a bit of old blaster bb bottle.
I think I am going to cut a piece of acrylic out to cover the lense to protect it.

What are the Best/Affordable Radio Comms to use in an Airsoft game?

Yes, i agree one hundred percent, you don't realise how slow you fire until you see it in slow mo. I aim to use the slow mo feature in future videos on my channel so should see if i improve:)

I have thought about getting a big hard case to keep a small chest rig, pistol, rifle and Mags etc... Take the least I can and get it locked up in a solid case under my bed.

Hello all, I will hopefully be heading off to university next year, my first choice will be Bangor university as they have the course I want to do and for many other reasons. I know that there is a airsoft society there known as (BAS) and I was wondering if anyone on here is in university who still play airsoft. Is it difficult to get to games and hard to keep RIF in halls? Basically is it worth me taking my airsoft guns and some of equipment to university with me? And what is everyone's thoughts on keeping a RIF in halls?
-
Yeah i know what you mean, i have been going to airsoft about 8 months now i think, and i have just decided to make the best possible gun i can afford before i go to uni next year and have no money! Haha, thanks for the replies guys:)

I see, so this is just a tiny piece which fits on the arm of the hop up. Will consider getting both.
'Building Fire' GLOCK 17/19/22/23 Gun Clip
in General Help
Posted
I really don't know whether this is in the correct place, but I recently bought a Glock 18 and wanted a nice secure holster for it. I came across these 'Gun Clips' which said they fitted the Glock 17/19/22/23. I couldn't find one review saying whether it would fit my Glock 18, so I just decided to order one for £7 and found out it does actually fit the Glock 18, but it is very tight and has to be put under pressure to get it in place. I thought I would write this here in case someone was wondering about it. (Pictures of the Gun Clip Below)
