  1. Okto Eight Milsim have posted on their FB page Booking for Operation Skylight will officially open on 18th April. 8 places in SOF, 10 places in the MDF and 18 places in the MPF. In the unlikely event that full quota numbers arent met for any reason, we are still going to run with a minimum cover. First come; first served...
  2. Welcome. I play at AWA up near Bishops Stortford from time to time and there are a few others on here from the area. We are also organising a milsim in September round the M25 at Kings Langley.
  3. There is already talk of the relative merits of stoves and solid fuel..
  4. A link for MREs has been added for those wishing to enhance the experience. Obviously not essential and as there is no in-game safe zone, all day refreshment will occur "in game". However, some may wish to try it, either in game or if camping over. No food or burger van will be provided lol
  5. Radio discussions are starting on the secure Coalition SOF team group page.
  6. You could always tape it. Ive got a two tone sniper rifle which I bought before my UKARA came through. Ive sniper taped it.
  7. The rules, booking details and other player information has been posted up on the Okto Eight Milsim Facebook page. Its going ahead - looks exciting.. Anybody who is not on Facebook or doesn't want to be, can email them on [email protected] and get a copy of the full PDF document.
  8. The Coalition loadout is MTP or Multicam, but AOR1 is light enough, so shouldn't be a problem. Probably best to confirm with Okto Eight via their FB page before booking though..
  9. Another vote for stitch me up.
  10. Never bought guns from them, but have bought bits and pieces. Never had a problem with them. Things normally take a couple of weeks to arrive but their communication is a lot better than many UK suppliers.
  11. Just working on the detail now with the Okto Eight guys. Should have information about the loadouts and ammo rules by the weekend.
  12. Welcome to the forum. Just find your nearest skirmish, rent the kit and turn up on your jack. Its not all teams and people will talk if you talk to them. Asking about guns and kit is always a good icebreaker. Many sites will rent coveralls and the safety kit so you can see if you like it first.
  13. You have a choice of four different camos for the MDF or the MPF You can wear DPM or M81 !
  14. Initial plan for camos for three forces in Operation Skylight MDF Moldistan Defence Force - M81 Woodland, Russian KKO, DPM or Flecktarn with matching jacket/top and trousers in one of these camo's. Moldistan Peoples Front (MPF) is the same camo type but where either the jacket/top or trousers are a solid non-camo colour e.g olive green, tan, black, blue, grey. It is also permissible to have all drab solid colours such as olive green, tan, black, blue, grey top and bottom. Note - assault rigs can be either solid or camo. Coalition Force Special Operations Team and/or advisers - MTP or Multicam
  15. Colonel Pav Lukashenka, head of the Moldistan Peoples Front rebel force A.K.A MPF. Tired of the dictator president, Gretsky and the high level corruption that fouled the government of his country, he broke away and formed his rebel force in the woods. Many of his fellow rebels are ex MDF and well trained, dedicated soldiers.
  16. Another vote for Dan Wesson. Ive got a 2.5" snub. In my experience, in the UK they come with the power down shells. Tokyo Marui make good replicas too.

  18. This is another piece of intel just released to the Okto Eight page and is an example of what I'm referring to.
  19. Ian The teams each have their own secret Facebook group. Only those booking into the team get admission and can see the intel.. The available intel is different for each group as it would be in reality. For those that don't use Facebook, it is circulated to a nominated email address for the person booking. At the moment, initial intel is appearing publicly on the Okto Eight page to give people a flavour. This will cease after an initial period and the intel will go "underground" appearing on the relevant secret group only. If the first game is popular and they get the numbers, then it may well run to a quarterly game in a series and then a forum might be the way to go.
  20. Sorry - badly worded. People CAN pick which team they want to fight for and then they are assigned to their chosen team once they pay their deposit.
  21. No, there will be no restrictions on the outward appearance of weapons. As it is a milsim/filmsim style, it would be nice if players would choose weapon types that correspond to their role, but we cannot enforce it as a rule. PS - MDF is the defence force or government troops.
  22. There will need to be a setting up day on the Friday so its quite likely there will be camping from the Friday on. There will be a non refundable deposit of £25 when booking though so this might be a risk for you if your health lets you down when we get to September. The deposit can be sold on though. I don't know if you've seen the load out guides on the Facebook page but I would imagine the Peoples Front of Moldistan might be right up your street.
