its true, i think thats a real problem. Schools want all of their students to get good grades and go off to uni. However for the majority of jobs such as builders and shop keepers... ect "old school" jobs which are a massive part of the economy. People that stop education and go onto them type of jobs are seen as failures in the school system i think thats wrong. Maybe its different at other schools but mine was like that, there is quite a lot of vocational colleges however teacher me...

and a lot of Romanian & Polish builders & plumbers too - must start plumbing at an earlier age than us. But us brits are a little lazy and clueless sometimes expecting stuff to come to us rather than go out and work for it. But dunno what the answer is but a balance of manual & educational/logic work/studying is best all round i reckon. Getting balance right is tricky
