I had an air pistol seized. It was common practice by many to buy airguns from Europe at the time, they were cheaper and could be delivered to your door. I was a firearms club member and had a UKARA membership. BF though, declared it a RIF. Luckily as it was weeks until I heard anything, I and the store in Portugal thought it was lost and they had refunded me. I found Border Force totally useless to deal with. I had 3 visits from the police, they kept on visiting as they weren’t recording the information I gave them. In the end complained to the Chief Constable who put a local D.I on the case and I ended up getting a letter of apology from the police and no black mark against my name. Border Force are supposed to assign a member of staff to deal with you personally, they didn’t. You only get one phone number and they pass messages to the office that seized the item apparently. I contacted my local MP and made her aware that the airgun was classed as a low powered firearm under the 1968 act, and as such could not be a RIF. I made her aware that it was perfectly legal, and my legal status. Her office made contact with BF and insisted that the manager of the seizing office contact me. He did, very, very begrudgingly, he confirmed it was a .177 air pistol but added that BF were completely entitled to class any gun as a RIF, and did not recognise my UKARA membership as a entitlement to import. The pistol was destroyed, despite my request for them to return it to the sender. As I documented the whole case on the airgun forum I had a number of people contact me for advice. BF were seizing target pistols even spring air rifles and classing them as RIF’s. For me at the time,( I don’t know if it’s now improved), Border Force were a complete law unto themselves, classing any gun they stopped as a RIF, and totally ignoring the persons right to buy through proper defences. I wish you well, keep fighting them, but if it ends up in court it can be very expensive, win or loose.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned in an early post. If airsoft guns are legally airguns then mail order delivery wouldn’t be possible, it would have to be RFD transfer to RFD with all the associated costs, delivery by an approved courier as some shops offer with airgun sales, or physically collecting face to face from the shop. As mail order is allowed I presume that airsoft guns aren’t legally classed as airguns.

Yes, who ever thought that was a good idea. This pistol is really a collectors piece, or maybe a re-enacter, so two toning was stupid to my mind.
-
What’s the feeling about adverts not mentioning that a gun was originally two toned, I ask as I offered on a pistol yesterday, offer accepted and then told, by the way, this was a two toned pistol, removed apart from a few specks of blue paint, and you should be able to remove them. Expensive pistol by the way £400 + In my opinion it should be in the advert. To rub salt into the wounds, the seller did the dirty on me and sold to someone else after we agreed a price he wanted. Disappointing.

Hadn’t heard of it, but just tried, and tracking not found.

Items despatched airmail, the tracking links to parcel force, but 10 days after leaving still no sign of delivery.

As above, fitted a maple leaf jet inner barrel, made little difference, apart from the convenience of the adjustment wheel location. And again as above, the Co2 nozzles aren’t great, the original GHK ones are far stronger. I found the Co2 mags from Samoon poor as well, the valves for me were rubbish. I don’t know if the Umarex Co2 mags are better, and who makes them, I know they have different base plates to the Samoon ones.

Certain Blank Firing Guns are now illegal in the UK.
novioman replied to BigAl's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Had the same with air cartridge guns, no compensation and hand them in unless you want to put them on FAC, what happened, 60-80 thousand went underground according to Home Office figures. Same will happen here. The majority of owners who aren’t on forums or buy newspapers won’t even know about the amnesty unless they put out a lot of TV & radio messages to warn owners. -

Not illegal yet, so don’t panic. Hand in period doesn’t start until February next year. No compensation is being offered, many will disappear. It only applies to a few brands so don’t start handing in perfectly legal blank firers. -
Both look lovely. Both fully ABS I guess. £150 each ?

Anyone used Action Airsoft Online. How were they?

Think they are slow to post, and in stock items sometimes aren’t.
-
They have been sent today, I did email them again last night to chase the order up.
-
I ordered 11 days ago, and they haven’t despatched anything yet.

Used WGC a couple of times in the past, they were o.k, got the items pretty quickly and not a bad price. Ordered a few small items a few weeks ago, all apparently in stock, but still not despatched and they seem to be giving me the run around. Looked them up on Trustpilot and they had very mixed reviews. Apparently if you cancel an item, even if it’s not actually in stock they deduct a re-stocking fee. That is until you get PayPal involved. I don’t mind waiting as they are only spares, but don’t like being given the run around. Anyone else had the same lately.

Sig air Green gas pistol serial number
novioman replied to Tossviscount's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I brought one from HPA-U.K, that one had the serial number plate missing. I asked why, never got an answer. Had to return it as the pistol would fire when you put the mag in, without the trigger being pulled I must add.
