  1. I don’t strictly need a chrono as I don’t build my own guns but that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t want one 😉 I just don’t want to spend much on it when I would only use occasionally. Do you have any recommendations for affordable chronographs? What is the minimum you have to spend? I guess options from AliExpress should be avoided? I had a look at used ones here on the forum but they don’t tend to come up often. There are no used ones on eBay either.
  2. Looks good, especially the Attack Sense setup but the prices are quite expensive. £20 for 2 hour Airsoft range? I pay that for half a day of skirmish and that includes a range as well.
  3. Are there any shooting ranges in the South East where you can shoot your pew pew? I've checked with my local site DriverWood on whether you could use just the range but the price was nearly as much as a half day skirmish and I think you could only do it during the week and not on the weekend.
  4. Am I missing something here? A FMA team Wendy helmet is £50 on Patrol base. Are the additions really worth £60?
  5. I am definitely going to drive! I was expecting a delivery today from pdp and the app told me it was delivered. However the picture that they’ve uploaded as proof of delivery showed a door I did not recognise. I walked up our street to check but could not find the door. No idea where they’ve delivered that parcel.
  6. Looks like I am going to use my own 4 wheels to do that. It is just a 3 hour round trip, could have been worse.
  7. Hi, I need to ship my Krytac in the UK. The shipping is not that expensive (less than £10) but if you want to insure it the price jumps up by £25. Are Airsoft RIFs actually covered under the insurance (I wouldn't be surprised if they are not) and do you really need the insurance? Which parcel company would you recommend and would you take the insurance or risk it? The gun just received some upgrades and the replacement price would be somewhere around the £500-600 mark.
  8. I think ASG are doing bios but I’ve never seen them anywhere in the shops.
  9. After seeing people using Gousto boxes as bb catchers on another thread I thought I share what I’ve done for my Airsoft shooting range in the garden. I didn’t use Gousto but Hello Fresh packing material. I’ve used a 60x120cm MDF board and screwed on 1x2 in boards. I then filled it with the packing material from Hello Fresh that they use to keep the meat cold (see first picture). In the bottom of the frame I left a small gap so when I tilt the I don’t shoot from very close (4-10m) but the bbs just stay in the bb catcher and at the end I just tilt the board and the bbs roll out on the side into a bin. Please share your ideas for target practice at home or in the garden
  10. Man, I really had to concentrate hard to understand what the news reader was saying - and German is my native language 😉 (although I am getting worse and worse with it after 22 years in the UK). I had plenty of these Cold War games in the late 1980s while serving in the Bundeswehr as a Panzer Grenadier. So if someone wants to go as a Bundeswehr solidier and needs tips on what to wear (plain olive green with a green baret ) or what gun to use (HK G3) then please DM me. This video shows the uniform: https://images.app.goo.gl/sRgkWwVUtZ82WyUw5 but don’t forget to blouse your trousers otherwise the Sargent Major will tear you a second … 😆 But IMHO it is the most boring BDU you can think of. The only item we liked was the green baret.
  11. Oi! Are you saying I am dressing old fashioned 😄
  12. I’ve watched and interesting video on YT comparing the Howard leight and Walker Razors. The main thing seems to be that the Walker Razors are better for using as coms but you can’t really hear where ambient noise is coming from while the Howard leights give you good spacial awareness of the surrounding noise but if you want to increase the volume of the coms you have to increase the volume of the surrounding noise as well which somehow defeats the object.
  13. Thanks again for the replies. I was trending towards the Earmore but will probably stay away from it now. But now I’ve noticed another problem. Can you actually wear those (Razer or Howard) with a boonie? I prefer a boonie over a helmet. I am just using a bump cap under the boonie.
  14. Thanks, I’ve already damaged by hearing during my army days. Have been living with a tinitus for the last 30 years. So I know how damaging loud bangs can be, that’s why I wanted to check at what price level you can get decent protection.
  15. Hi, I am looking for a headset which offers comms using Baofeng radio Noise protection (flash bangs in CQB or right next to you) protection of ears from BBs Do you have any recommendation that aren’t too expensive? How cheap can you go. Would an alliexpress £20-30 headset do it, would a £40-50 Amazon no-name headset do it, or is an Earmore the lowest you should go with? Thanks
  16. Hi, I bought a CTM holster for my AAP-01 and an Amomax belt clip. The CTM has a belt clip that is attached with 3 screws but I prefer the Amomax belt clip. However I am confused on how to properly set it up. The Amomax only has one hole in the centre. If I use one of the back plates of the CTM with one hole or even the back plate with the 3 holes and tighten the one center screw so that the holster stays in place, then the spring powered release clip doesn’t move anymore. When you look at the back you can see that if you tighten the back plate the swivel for the release clip is locked in place (see picture showing the back). So how is this supposed to be attached? Did I use the wrong backing plate?
  17. Hi I’ve bought an AAP-01 a couple of weeks ago and so far I’ve only been able to shoot it in the garden (I’ve setup a 10m range that cannot be overlooked by neighbours). Some of the shots are going well and then the bb is just flying 1-2 m or even staying in the gun and then rolling out. I’ve went back to the shop, they filled a Magazin and it shot all without problem. Then they wanted to show it to me and it then again just spat out the bbs 1-2 m. Someone looked at it and adjusted the hop a bit more (I’ve already done some of it but with a 10m range it is hard to tell how much hop you need). It then shot a mag without problem again. I am just not complete convinced that the hop was the problem. If the hop was the problem would I not get all bbs just spatting out? But I had some good shots and some bad ones. I am not an expert but this feels more like an air seal problem. Even with no hop set at all I wouldn’t expect it to just ‘fall’ out of the gun. What do you think? Was the shop correct that the hop was the problem? I haven’t had time to try it again in the garden and looking at the weather forecast I probably won’t be able to do so for a few days.
  18. So I’ve ordered the CTM from Skirmshop and as @Impulsesaid in his post that you can mount it with the Amomax belt clip and that the website even states this and that the mount is not included: The holster is also compatible with Amomax belt and molle mount! This is not included with this holster. I went ahead and ordered the Amomax belt clip thinking that the CTM itself doesn’t have a belt clip. As it seems the CTM does come with a belt clip so I am currently wondering what the benefits of the Amomax belt clip are over the clip that comes with the CTM. Being able to adjust the belt width is one thing and I thought the other one would be that the gun can swivel with the Amomax. However I’ve got a few question about this. The CTM comes with two other backing plates, which of the 3 is the correct one to use with the Amomax and secondly, if I just attach it with the centre screw it is fairly likely that the whole setup will rattle itself lose and I end up with leaving the AAP somewhere on the field. Do you just use Thread lock once you’ve tightened the screw enough to be secure while still being able to rotate the holster slightly?
  19. Thanks for all the replies. I went for the CTM in the end as I intend on adding a flash light to the AAP.
  20. Hi A bit of a rant here, it seems that most parts, gear etc on Airsoft websites are always out of stock and when it is in stock they charge £5.99 delivery even if it is a small part that could be sent as a letter? I understand that you can’t stock everything but there should be one website somewhere in the UK that has an item in stock (e.g. trying to find a AAP CTM pistol holster or a simple rail attachment for it). It makes shopping for Airsoft equipment very frustrating when you get lots of search results for an item but when you then click on it it tells you it is out of stock. A couple of website at least show ‘In European Warehous’ aka ‘we can back order it’. Any idea why it is so bad with all things Airsoft? And why is it cheaper to ship something across the world from China via Alliexpress than it is to ship from somewhere in the UK? Ok rant over.
  21. May I ask why you prefer the first two over the CTM?
  22. Hi, I’ve recently got myself my first pistol, an AAP-01. Now I am looking for a holster for that pistol. I will probably attach it to a belt (I could attach one via molle to the side of the plate carrier but that feels too high up). Anyway I regress. What holsters would you recommend that secure the pew pew while being able to draw it quickly. I can see 3d printed ones on eBay. Has anyone tried it? What other options are there (without spending too much). Thanks for your help
  23. Isn’t that the definition of a General 😉
  24. Don’t get me wrong. The last thing I would like is to have a Sargent Major shouting at me 😉 I had enough of that in my army days! But it feels everyone is trying to pull a heavy weight on their own when it would be so much easier if they would team up and pull together.
