  1. I think that's bordering on a bit paranoid lol. You've probably got more chance of running into dangerous arseholes in airsoft than at the skatepark. Most of the parks around me that I've been to are veryt relaxed, tons of friendly people willing to help new skaters. I've never seen any dealers hanging about there, I think skating people tend to be quite protective of their spaces and new people starting out from what I've seen. Maybe the occasional old weedhead smoking a joint while skating himself, but certainly noone recruiting kids in broad daylight ? There are also indoor parks all over that you can pay a small fee to enter and skate without that risk, if that's really a serious concern or you live in a super dodgy area or something
  2. Tons of my friends are taking up skating at the moment. People ranging from early 20's to late 30's. I'm giving roller blading a try since I can already ice skate, but skateboarding seems to be great value for money and the community is really friendly and supportive from what I've seen. Most public skateparks are free entry which means after you've got your board and a lid/some pads you're good to go. Definitely on the cheaper side long term I reckon - medical bills for the occasional wipeout notwithstanding
  3. How do you think they keep flogging invisalign to people?
  4. I also use a delta mike mk2, was one of the first things I bought, Genuinely quite happy with it, gotta protect the money maker!
  5. That's gnarly, were you not wearing face/mouth protection? My biggest fear in this game is losing a tooth/eye!
  6. I already have a few pairs of old dpm trousers that I could use in theory, but I'm specifically looking for something non-surplus/non-camo partly so I don't look or feel like such a scruffbag, but partly because it seemed like some of the features that hiking pants offer might be worth it. Whether that be that they can zip down into shorts, or have stretchy areas for better comfort, or breath-ability or whatever. Marketing be damned, if they'll make schlepping up some bastard of a hill a wee bit more comfy then I'm open to ideas haha. I've also heard good things about fjallraven hiking pants but again a little on the pricey side. Honestly what I'll likely do is trawl ebay for second hand deals and will wait to snap up something decent like some karrimors or craghoppers. I'm not really into buying new hyped up shit for no reason Thanks for the heads up on these, I'll check them out!
  7. I’m getting into hiking a bit at the moment and am looking for a good hiking pant that might also be useful for airsoft once in a while. I’ve seen rave reviews about Revolution Race pants, but also a few which are quite critical of them in terms of fit in particular. Anyone else used them? They’re on the pricey side but there’s a sale on at the mo so considering whether to give them a try.
  8. Looking forward to many things, mostly getting back to playing after some back issues recently I need to get down to Red1 Chiselhurst one last time to get my ukara finally. Then I have my eye on heading to imperium for one of their epic looking game days soon. Then I'm going to make it my quest to try and get some of my buddies to come play with me!
  9. Cool, got any pics? I'd be down to see your setup! I agree it is old school cool, I've never tried wearing it with jeans/shirt now you mention it, will have to give it a try. My main gripe with OD is that it seems to be hard to find bits that go with it, a lot of accessories and stuff these days can only be found in ranger or forest green from my searching which is kind of annoying... part of the reason why multicam appeals I think. You can see from the pic above that my PC is OD but the dangler is a slightly darker/less yellow colour and I know its daft but that just irks me to no end haha
  10. Hey folks. Looking for some opinions! I'm thinking of swapping my plate carrier setup for a multicam one. I've decided I like the look of multicam with woodland pants, but I'm kind of on the fence. Wondering what other people's opinions are out of curiosity, or if the OD setup actually looks pretty decent? As I say I'm on the fence but tilting towards conversion to the multiglam mob Pic of me in the kit for reference... cheers!

Thanks for the heads up!
  13. I'm looking to get a decent belt without breaking the bank, and I figure instead of spending a tenner on a basic speed belt I could spend a wee bit more for a proper tactical belt, so I don't need to buy another belt down the line for use with pistols/mag pouches etc. From what I've read and heard a two piece belt with an inner and outer is a great option, and I've got my eyes on this Idogear one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/IDOGEAR-Tactical-Release-Laser-Cut-Multi-camo/dp/B09X1CBXDZ/ref=sr_1_53?crid=1SEVMYHPYCU16&keywords=battle%2Bbelt%2Bwith%2Binner%2Bvelcro&qid=1682161225&sprefix=battle%2Bbelt%2Bwith%2Binner%2Bvelcro%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-53&th=1&psc=1 Does anyone have any opinions/reviews of it? Also, what sizes do you use for your waist size? Cheers!
  14. Aye I've been taking plenty down with me, at the moment I tend to drink well between rounds and just eat during the lunch break, haven't had any issues with that so far but its a small site so its quite easy to manage. Defo valuable feedback above, I'm glad I checked in about adding stuff to the carrier, defo won't be adding much apart from patches because the kit right now is comfortable and is doing everything it needs to for me to have fun. Might add a replica knife somewhere just for looks but I must admit I do enjoy the 'barbie' element of airsoft ? Thanks, the boots are Army surplus, I think they're the Meindl desert boots. Got them for 20 quid off ebay in great condition and they've been awesome for me, solid support and comfy so far. Not sure if they're a particularly well liked boot among actual soldiers but they do the job and were a banging deal so no complaints. Will defo put up a review of the goggles, might put a vid on Youtube if I can be arsed, they've been solid. I was worried they'd fog up being goggles but they've surprised me tbh. Yeah that's Red1 Chislehurst, good eye!
  15. I see, that's good to know thanks for the heads up folks. In that case I'll just stick where I am and just grab a few more patches haha. I don't carry any water on me atm but I think I'll look at adding some capacity for that when I start playing at larger sites down the line. Probably get a bladder on the rear since its empty on the back anyway
  16. My first loadout! Only skirmished twice in my own kit so far, but I don't have any complaints (touch wood) Tried to build it without breaking the bank. Most of it is bargain basement stuff. Only things I really splashed on a bit was the goggles (Valken Thermal Goggles) which are honestly immense and don't fog up at all, even on Saturday when it was a warm day. Carrier is 8fields I think, lid is an amazon special, pants are Viper (I did originally have some amazon specials too but they were shite and broke on first use). Any suggestions on things I could add? My plate carrier seems to look a little bare so I'll probably look to add a few little extra bits there, and I defo need a battle belt of some sort down the line as the thing I'm using right now is just a plain old clothes belt. Still I'm pretty happy with it for my first loadout I can't lie!
  17. I feel your pain, very similar issue at a diff site this weekend. I do like the sound of the rest though; and random hit checks does seem like a pretty good policy/way to enforce hit taking
  18. Imperium looks super cool I've seen that they have vehicles and stuff, its defo one I've considered making the effort for. I'm thinking I'll give Reforger a go, maybe D&A Dropzone and whatever else I can get to within about 90 ish mins of me
  19. Back down to Red1 Chislehurst today. It’s a trek for me from Islington, but one of the only sites I can get to using public transport, so hey ho. Beautiful weather once the fog burned off. Unfortunately the day didn’t really go off like my first visit here. Good turnout, maybe 40/50 people ish. First two games were decent, but things took a bad turn around halfway through the day. I’ve worked out by now that I fucking hate ‘fallback’ game modes in general. Imo they’re lazy lead to a lot of unfocused skirmishes at the edge of the map and don’t direct players into dynamic gameplay. On the defence it gets boring as shit quite often too. They then tried to set up what felt like a game mode they’d never ran before, or at least hadn’t worked the kinks out of. They split one of the teams into two smaller groups and gave them two spawns/regen areas. Our team only had one. Our job was to get out and search the whole site for certain objects and collect them. Initially we had some success and pushed to a strong area where we cut them off into some trenches. But the Marshalls told us we were too close to their spawn and so sent us back a good way, even though we weren’t able to see or engage them coming from spawn. But sure, we moved back, no dramas. Until they occupy those areas we left, and push our whole team back to our spawn. The shit show really starts here. They were so close to our spawn you couldn’t lower your hand without getting lit up again instantly. About half our team got spawn camped for about half an hour or so, and the Marshalls basically ignored it despite some vigorous protests. (This after they had just pushed us back just for being a bit close to enemy spawn previously without actually engaging it.) A bunch of people simply downed tools and started having a smoke, chatting and stopped playing because it was so stupid. Probably about 3/4 of our team we’re just standing at the regen chatting at one point doing fuck all because our area was so exposed/surrounded. It was a massive waste of time and even worse it really seemed to kill the sense of fun for the rest of the day. Eventually the Marshalls realised that shouting at us to do ‘something’ was futile and that morale and fun had been utterly strangled to death, so they called the game to a close and acknowledged it hadn’t gone well. We broke for lunch, and a good few people were already packing up to leave. I tried one more game after food but similar story, poor game modes, inconsistent marshalling and some god awful hit taking, which went on across the entire day to be honest. I packed up before the last game and called it which I sort of hate for how much you pay to play. Defo one to forget unfortunately which is a massive bummer as the weather was mint. I’ve One more go down here and I’ll have my UKARA finally. Shall be exploring pastures new I reckon
  20. Feel like this might belong here, you can get one brand spanking new off land warrior for 10 bob more
  21. Thanks I'll have a look for that thread. Its going to be a bit of a toss up on the metal slide thing for me, if I can find a pistol that has a metal slide but that has a good rep then I might still go for it especially since the summer is coming and I'm a bit of a slut for realism. That being said, I won't turn my nose up at any of the well reviewed plastic ones either based on what people have said here
  22. So glad I asked for honest opinions here haha, in that case I won't rule out the TM HK45 even with the plastic slide, these are the types of things the airsoft 'influencers' conveniently leave out of their videos, learned some really useful things here so thanks everyone for your responses
  23. Hey thanks for the responses, this was really helpful already. I had no idea that C02 pistols tended to fire hot, thats a big no-no for me. I'd heard that changing the canisters could be annoying and was prepared to accept that but I don't ever want to have to worry about shooting over the limit that shit is whack as fuck. I think I would like a metal pistol actually, I didn't realize the TM pistols were plastic, thats almost a bit of a shame. Will keep looking I guess, and make sure to check out the green gas pieces. As a side note, I read that green gas is basically just propane with some silicone oil mixed into it, does this mean that it could potentially be dangerous to store?
  24. Hey folks. I'm not quite ready to get myself a pistol yet but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in the market for one soon, most likely in a few months. Before that I'm doing research as always, but wanted to get some opinions on worthwhile gbb pistols around the 100-150 mark too. I think I'd like C02 judging by the advantages that these offer. Any recommendations or warnings? I'm considering looking at second hand also, anything to keep an eye out for? I personally like the standard glock 17 and the HK45. Wouldn't be against a tan Sig either. Cheers!
  25. I'm not sure, I'm no tech but I've heard that 9.9 Life's are a good middle ground in terms of power between 7.4v and 11.1v lipos and have some additional benefits like being a bit more hard wearing and easier to take care of. I used the 9.9v at a site the other day and trigger response felt great to me and I didn't have any issues. I also have a slim 7.4v Lipo as a backup https://www.vapextech.co.uk/airsoft-7-4v-1400mah-20c-lipo-battery-with-case-lp051-vapextech - this one, and it fits inside the buffer tube meaning you don't need to worry about the side bits at all. You might be able to find an 11.1v of that slim battery if you have a look
