  1. That is a shame that there is no viable Brownie option (I feel like a manufacturer should address that because - aside from the slide taking the skin off your thumb webbing every time you make it ready - it was a truly brilliant service 9mm). I’ll hold off on the side arm then for now. I would agree about E07 being the limit of usable length for CQB other than that I am 6’5 and with the stock retracted it looks pretty small in my arms! I played with a firehawk in a couple of games and it looked ridiculous!
  2. I think trying to scare off opposition with a DM is pretty shady behaviour. That said gazzumping someone for if they have offered the asking price/close to it (not that it sounds like this bloke did) because you have got limitless funds/a wife that doesn’t ask questions every time you buy something new etc is equally a c*nt’s trick.
  3. So we are in lockdown, no one can play airsoft and the closest you can get is room clearing the landing while you wife is out of the house. I have just acquired an ‘as new’ SA RRK E07. Bought the obligatory set of 3 high cap M4 mags, two new batteries for it, single point sling etc. I have never played with a sidearm (although have carried one many times in a professional capacity). I want one. But do I NEED one? Does it dramatically enhance your enjoyment/how steely you feel/how effective you are? And if we decide that I do need one (given the audience I strongly suspect the answer will be ‘carry another weapon!’) which one? G17 RIF or a Brownie seems the logical choice given that is what I have had issued to me. Other than that I can’t claim to know much about them other than I know that whilst I think a chrome snub nosed Colt is very pretty it isn’t very practical for someone who regularly gets through 1500 rounds in a morning without trying. Thoughts?
  4. There is no major difference to the internals between E11 and E7 is there? Same piston and barrel length etc?
  5. thanks mate great advice. Do you have a link to the website? I can’t find him.
  6. 4 years of marriage and I have hit upon the discovery that £100 for a toy will win me the silent treatment. £50 incurs displeasure but she still speaks to me. You would be AMAZED what you can buy for £50.
  7. I have a Specna Arms RRA E07 (bought on here) coming. The calibration sheet supplied with the RIF by Specna shows that it is firing very hot - 387 to 392 at 0.2 weight. The vendor hasn’t chrono’d it so I am confident that it is going to arrive well over site limits for an AEG. Specna Arms website says that they are supplied with an M140 spring fitted (does this sound correct for that FPS?) and an M90. The M90 is going to be too weak and I would like to be as close to 350FPS as possible. I don’t want to clip the spring (not a tinkerer, and it will stress me out if something is bodged in my gun). Does anyone have a suggestion of what spring to fit? M100? Is there such a thing as an M110?
  8. Played before lockdown one a few times. Played between lockdowns two and three. Wife: just rent a gun. Don’t buy one. You always go mental buying things for activities. We have a surfboard in the garage that gets used for two weekends a year. Husband: £30 kit rental... it is much more cost effective to buy my own. I need my own. I’m saving money really. Wife: I can’t condone this. Husband: buys SA E07, three high cap mags, two batteries, smart charger, single point sling, 6000 rounds (which it could be about June before I get to fire at this rate). Husband spends evening doing solo room clearances round the house. Wife (home unexpectedly early): How much did you spend on all that?? Husband: £50.....................
  9. If you are going to fulfill a sniper rule google ‘why things are seen’. There are some very good RM produced videos. Not being seen is the aim of the game, and not being seen has nothing to do with spending huge amounts of time making a ghillie suit.
  10. Specna Arms Edge range? They have a variety of stubby M4s with an adjustable stock and they come out of the box with a pretty reasonable internal spec for the price. I don’t know if fitting a folding stock is an option/something you would regard as important. I would also argue that an often overlooked but crucial element of a CQB RIF is a very high quality external. Personally I prefer a metal upper and lower receiver wherever possible (which SA Edge series has) because I am heavy handed and tend to bang into walls/doors with my weapon/head/kit/body.
