Also; six allan key bolts to change you battery?? Fuck doing that every lunchtime in the rain.
-
As soon as the Combat South shop opens again I am going to get them to change the hand guard to a 20mm RIS so I can be done with trying to balance attachments on top of attachments.

Good Irr Bdus and Gear for Night Time Sneakiness
DRay replied to Impulse's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
So IRR material is definitely a thing. Based on what I have gleaned from work; - it’s only necessary if OPFOR have very sensitive equipment. I would query whether it is required for airsoft, unless it is a pretty serious MilSim (in which case, if you want additional team members then I am down!) - issued kit is most definitely NOT IRR rated. The MoD will barely provide us with kit that doesn’t melt when it is near an open flame, never mind stuff that is woven with copper (which I think is how they achieve IR masking). - as far as I am aware the only IRR kit I own is a camelbak day sack and bergen (which are IRR entirely by accident because I was issued US kit for an OpTour). I imagine it is pretty chuffing expensive. -
As a fellow KeyMod RIF owner; looking for attachments is a FUCKING nightmare.

PPK will be fine, and I would be staggered if they wouldn’t allow it on a site. You’re only issue is likely to be that it won’t have a great deal of range (because it is a pistol) and being a springer you will have to cock it after each round fired - so if you miss you are almost certain to take a hit! Have a look in the classifieds for a second hand M4 RIF, literally hundreds of options, some that will include a few magazines and maybe a battery which will make your life easier.

Love the torch on that! Is it attached with jubilee clips?
-
I just googled ‘vorpal bunny’ and I am now blind. The last time I saw something as horrendous as that was when I did rounds on the stokers mess and they were watching an ‘exotic wildlife documentary...’

Woah all sorts of terminology that I have no idea what anyone is talking about haha. Iron sights have been fine for me for ages, I think maybe the best shout is to have a look at what other people are running when the sites open again.
-
Haha that’s not a bad shout to be fair mate but no, my eyesight is 20/20 and we do annual eye and colour perception tests. I watch the fall of shot because I am fucking lazy... In terms of look, probably more minimalist than having some whacking great telescope on the top of my rifle to be honest with you. Something in-keeping with a carbine. I am undecided between a red dot, a small magnified optic or just sticking with another set of iron sights.
-
Soooo I drunkenly added to my armoury last night with a G&G Raider Long as a spare/loaner. It hasn’t got iron/flip up sights with it. So I need to acquire one. That said, I have iron sights on my SA E07, so buying a second set seems a bit redundant. Have only ever used iron sights or a SUSAT so I am not au fait with the popular airsoft options; Something inexpensive. Isn’t going to need zeroing all the bastard time. Will fit to a 20mm RIS. Im not trying to achieve a DMR, in all honesty I will probably put the flip ups onto the G&G. But if I am going to spend £30 on a sight it is worth considering buying an optic or something. (I must confess that I spend most of my time watching the fall of shot anyway and don’t look down the sights 100% of the time anway, especially because I play mostly at CQB sites)

Aren’t MAC10s always full auto...?

We bought a double bed and the seller send two beds instead of one. Contacted them and said ‘mate you have sent me the parts for two double beds here, do you want to come and get one?’ Seller agrees to rectify the issue... by sending me a further two double beds. Now with three double beds in the hallway I decided that rather than raise it a second time and risk more double beds in boxes and never being able to get out of the house again and I gave one to a mate, one to a charity shop and sold the last one.

And the dirty great hole drilled into the mag release. So not ‘like new’ in the slightest. Still, £100 for a P226 with three mags isn’t the most expansive I have seen.
-
That is very very pretty. What is it?
-
In which case mate send that back. Could be an issue with the gearbox or the trigger (I am no technical wizard, everything I have is stock). Where did you buy it from? Most retailers are pretty small operations who are active players themselves and thus care about the sport so you do normally get pretty good customer service.

1. If you aren’t old enough to qualify under UKARA you aren’t able to buy anything, two tone or not. 2. An increasing number of sites stipulate that U18 players must wear a full mask and must play with a two tone until you are 18 anyway. So by getting a RIF you are limiting where you can play anyway. There are only a few places like UCAP that don’t allow two tones. 3. Another ‘hey guys please tell me how I can circumvent government legislation’ covert post. You won’t find any regular poster on here that will indulge you on this.

That rig is so smart it is almost a shame to get it muddy. I have just had a new warrior chest rig delivered to supplement my PC and I am almost ashamed of it because it looks brand new (nothing worse than crisp shiny kit!), but yours looks 👌

Is there a *cheap tactical AK platform? I am trawling the classifieds at the moment for a spare/loaner M4 on the logic that I have the mags for it already. But I do love an AK....
-
I don’t care what it’s performance is like. It could be the best RIF in the world. But who in their right mind thinks that ANYONE is going to pay £200 for that absolute monstrosity?? It looks like someone let a 9 year old design it.
-
Where did you buy it from? I would be strongly inclined to send that lemon back. It could be literally anything; a poorly fitted MOSFET a badly wired deans connector Gearbox connection has come lose trigger issue It is going to cost you time, some money, and crucially the warranty, to find out what’s wrong with it. Just return it for a replacement.

The RN still use ballasite rounds on the reg. We use them for firing a soft nosed projectile (colloquially known as the Bosun’s Dildo) from one ship to another to pass lines when you are at sea.
-
i don’t think (I certainly really really hope) that GreenOps is in danger. They have got dates for sale online as far as July which is a good sign. April has already mostly sold out. UCAP are also a pretty big organisation by Airsoft standards so you would imagine they have a better ability to absorb the last year of utter utter shite.
-
If they are ballastite rounds you need to dispose of those properly mate. They are illegal to own without a firearms license (on the assumption you don’t have one) as they can be easily converted to fire a projectile even if they are spent. Strongly suggest that you take them to a police station and ask for the amnesty box, or take them to an Army camp/Naval base and speak to the Officer of the Day. He/She will take them off your hands and put them in their amnesty box.

Another covert ‘how can I avoid UKARA’ thread. You can’t, you shouldn’t, you won’t find a single UKAF regular poster who will endorse the sentiment. All of this looks really bad for a sport/hobby that is more or less entirely self regulating, posts are open forum and can be dragged up by anyone who wants to make an argument to legislate against owning grown up toy guns and kill the sport stone dead. TLTR: put £70 into a small business over the course of 56 days and then go mad ordering stuff on Patrol Base for the subsequent 365 days and turn your back bedroom into an armoury. That’s your option. End of story.

I’m a Scouser so I don’t deal in animals like you southerners. The most time consuming bit is finding a steel merchant between your house and where you work so that you can pick it up on the way home. 5 minutes to make a cardboard template of the inside of your carrier, 10 minutes to cut it, 2 minutes to tape it up. I made myself sets of plates (front and back) in 2.5kg-ish increments up to 12.5kg. Less than an hours work. And you get to play with your angle grinder. And there is never enough opportunity to play with an angle grinder. Oooh water jet! Now that is a toy! I presume that that is something you have access to at work rathe than the shed because they are £0.5m.
