Apocalypse Airsoft review
DopeYourScope replied to Raytd's topic in Skirmish Sites, Stories & Reviews
😂 sorry not sorry man, the actual game days seem to now being run by the head marshall (simon) and the man running the shop (Jon) and in my opinion they've vastly improved this year alone. A lot of the other sites me and friends have been to in Kent we always seem to dip between Apoc and Battle Lakes. The games are a decent length (I hate short games if its less than 2 hours a game I'm not interested). -

For those who've not been recently or at all, here is a video highlighting the main parts of the site, Yes I agree no one wants to hear a sales pitch however so far in 2019 I have not heard it once and I've been quite regularly on sundays... With the number of players saying to the marshal "that guy in multicam with an M4 isn't taking his hits" won't get the issue dealt with. -
Has anyone had any luck with a red dot sight sub £100, something that will keep it's zeroing. Want to see if there's any alternatives before I purchase a Vortex (I've already got a 3-9x50 for my M40) I know they're spot on just don't have the upfront for one at the moment... Also PEQ recommendations? been looking at DBALs and the like just wanted some opinions... looking for something where the laser will hold it's zero.

If you’re not happy with the flamingos I would be surprised but if you’re not happy either send Dan a message and see if he’ll refund them otherwise I know someone who would buy them off you
-
Spoke with SniperMechanic (Dan) the other week and he’s actually looking to get hold of another MWS for a DMR build he suggested to use the omega nub as that’s what he’s tested with. Moreover in relation to the flamingo the bucking itself is incredibly consistent vertically and horizontally. A friend of mine has been testing one of the pre releases and I’ve shot his VSR with it and it shoots incredibly well.

This is known as Joule creep, it’s something which happens with spring sniper rifles, gas guns and HPA and doesn’t happen very often with AEGs because the amount of air being used to push the BB in an AEG is usually too little for the length of it’s inner barrel. Whereas a well tuned spring sniper rifle will have the perfect cylinder size to barrel length ratio which when you start using heavier BBs the joules will creep up. Obviously with gas and HPA they usually fire more compressed gas than necessary therefore causing the same issue mentioned above. example: my gas sniper rifle chrono’s on 0.2 at ~420fps which is 1.65J whereas when I use 0.48s like I do during games it’s on ~320fps which is on the limit of 2.3J.

First milsim with my CQBR, carried out a 1am raid and it was hilarious listening to the other team shouting because they heard me shooting and scooting. Double tapping people whilst you hear full auto queens rinsing a mid cap and you do a 4 hour mission using a mag and a half 👍🏻

I used to drive my 328 everywhere even though it was 3” off the floor 😅 did limit the sites I could attend.

What's your plan with the gun? keep it under 1.3J or DMR build etc? Been told you can get away with a Maple Leaf 250mm crazy jet and keep it under 1.3J without an NPAS
-
Had a bit of a test today, unfortunately was unable to change any parts of the hop however had a conversation with Dan - SniperMechanic and he has confirmed a Maple Leaf Crazy Jet 250mm, Omega nub and a 60degree autobot will make the gun much more accurate and able to fire the weight ammo I'd like to. Using a live target to confirm hits I was able to send 0.28s out to just 70m with a tad of wind. That is really the maximum range of most AEGs just shows how good these guns are standard.

Thought I would post an updated photo of my now wrapped M40A5 Gas Rifle. The camouflage tape is Jack Pyke Tough Tape, it's velvety to the touch and works incredibly well as many a time I've laid my rifle when pulling the pistol and been unable to spot it 😂. I am also now using a scope extender and honeycomb kill-flash as well as ANT Supplies one piece scope mount.

Thats what I meant, Dave to the rescue

It’s there so that the whole mag doesn’t fill with liquid “gas” it makes shot consistency slightly better but capacity a lot worse. When you fill your mag it will only allow up to the bottom of that tube to fill with liquid then up the tube. **referring to completely standard mags** The advantage is possibly a slightly better consistency at the trade off of overall capacity if you leave say an inch on the tube

Well I finally have popped my ZET system cherry. I am the proud owner of a CQBR and very impressed with the performance so far. Just waiting on the valve key I ordered so that I can do remove the zinc tubes in the mags, on the topic of mags I ordered element mag assists by god they were poor quality (2/3 split down the seam as soon as I tried to fit them to the mags so they're now taped to hold them together. 3/10 would not recommend 😂 (only giving them a 3 because they're black do what they should and 1 didn't split) I tested the gun on 0.25g bbs and green gas and was able to hit a target at 60m quite happily, I unfortunately have been quite busy and have only got a mag or so through the gun today and still need to properly set up the hop as I'm sure it can shoot further. Tomorrow I am hoping to get the hop up unit out of the gun and test a few nubs and buckings, possibly even a prototype of sniper mechanics unreleased flamingo bucking which a friend has been testing in his VSR with great results. He reckons a ML Omega nub should fit in the hop window along with a 60 degree maple leaf auto bot bucking will do the trick for slinging 0.36s.

Seeing as you’ve got no limit to joules I would try and find as high flow rate nozzle as possible, that way you’re maximising the gas used to propel the BB therefore increasing the output energy therefore maximising Range.
-
What are your limits on FPS? I believe it was Wolf who said he would only use MAPP below 5°c as propane is effectively the same as green gas and it cycles well on the propane above that temp. I have a gas sniper rifle which I have been using on red gas (slightly higher pressure than MAPP) until very recently, now I’m down using what I can assume is MAPP as it is the middle ground between green and red. If you go with the longer barrel and you’re using propane you will of course increase the muzzle energy (increase FPS and joules) the same with using a tighter bore. in regard to magazines I have been looking around and the only places I can find magazines in Europe are very expensive, I am currently looking at MLEmart and other Asia based sellers and working out whether it will be cheaper.

Thanks mate I’ll get those ordered up, I’m hoping to use the CQBR and my VFC M40A5 next weekend, so going to try and get my Rifleman kit sorted in time as I’ve already sorted the stuff for my sneaky sniper
-
Well looks like I’m off to collect a CQBR on Saturday so I’ll be joining the crew. I’m going to need the valve tool for mws magazines if someone could link the correct one would be awesome. I’ve got a 48hr milsim next weekend and was planning on using propane can someone post links to a propane adaptor and where you guys buy your propane from?

I’m trying to keep the finance to a minimum 😂 worst case I’ll have to wait a few more paydays
-
I’m watching all the forums I can, I know that an MWS will be my next Airsoft purchase. If I can find a second hand one for a decent price I’ll be a member soon otherwise I’ll have to wait a few months 😢

Hit a 270ft shot in 40mph crosswinds on sunday, looked like it still had some punch behind it as the lad let out a squeal at that range.
