  1. In the Mack's thread - Is it possible that when someone has an ad posted in there that they are automatically notified?
    Cos that might help matters......

As a semi-serious answer I believe - if this is still the case, @Jedi_Master can confirm - that the Dreamers thread exists in a very grey area between poking fun at idiots and just being picky over prices. It's been the case before that people have made questionable entries on that thread about guns they don't understand or because a discount wasn't quite at the level they wanted so I'd be very reluctant to do anything that would let people know when they've been shown up in that thread if only for the 1 in 10 times that people get it wrong.

The reason the thread works in the first place is that the sort of person who puts up an advert that's mispriced is also the sort who likely doesn't browse the rest of the forums too much. Preventing people from posting about listings on here is something I rolled back at the start of the year and thankfully haven't had to reconsider since. Hopefully it stays that way, but it is a bit of a knife edge :)

      Fully agree with that sentiment.

Some people are trying to make fast money, Others genuinely have no idea and are pricing things up based on what they think. So the grey area is pretty large.

The airsoft dreamers thread has the potential to be volatile, and if one of the sellers took a dislike to it and started to post there I have no doubts that the whole thread would be shut down. It's  in the same way the Appraisals thread has the potential to be volatile. All it takes is for the seller to think they have something of more value than they have, and then accuse the thread of devaluing a sale based on what has been posted. It's a hard cop for the people who are generally trying to help, and it only self regulates if there is an active base of users looking over everyone's posts.

All members are free to post adverts as well as ask questions within adverts; not all sellers are equal either in the quality of advert or attention to their advert, but it is their choice.

Macks dreamers is useful even though it resides in the grey area. It does often make me laugh reading some ridiculous adverts, and saddened when a member posts something they know nothing about thinking it overpriced. Providing the topic does not dissolve into rants and off-topic following posts, then there is no need to moderate, and it gives us all something to read and think about.
