  1. No problems with it yet but I've only used it about 4 games. Heads up though you do need a file a bit off the Perun so it doesn't get caught on the sector gear so it's not plug and play. The process is described in the manual; not difficult but probably not a job for someone that isn't confident to mess inside an AEG.
  2. I got one with mine, it was under all the foam. FYI you can get a Perun V3 optical mosfet for not much more than the Warfet. Really recommend it as it takes a great deal of travel out of the trigger and comes with precock; makes for great semi-response.
  3. I immediately regret using the phrase "medic rule" as it's clear it has different meanings depending on where you go. Where I encountered them they were just the rolling respawn rules people have mentioned. I don't like the idea of designated people playing as medics for respawn as that will mean a lot of standing around. Essentially I oppose any rules that require a mandatory hike or other time and energy wasting activities when you get shot. I reckon organisers need to proactively think how they can minimise that as a priority over other considerations because I don't know what it's like for everyone else but it's the #1 cause of bad game days for me (PS probably also worth noting I only skirmish so I'm not really talking about milsim).
  4. I would like to have a brief rant about an issue I think most people don't care about and quite a few on top of that might outright disagree with me on. The walk to the respawn. We take this aspect of the game for granted, but it sucks. I never noticed how much I hate it till I went to Gunman Airsoft where I discovered medic rules. In this case, you can get shot out twice in the field, dropping back 10 metres to respawn on an ally; third time it's back to respawn. I love this system; it makes the gameplay more aggressive, you get more trigger time and you don't get worn out trotting back and forth. There's a pretty big problem with that last point I'm not convinced gets enough consideration. I don't think it's unfair to say a significant portion of airsofters are not in the best shape and I've noticed at most places I go to you get a fair number of dropouts at lunch time. I reckon long respawn walks exacerbate this but that isn't the major problem; I think the real issue is that a lack of medic rules favours the winning team. If the other team's doing better, you're walking more. This is bad for everyone because if your opponent's tired and can't get a break, then when lunch time rolls around and they're looking out a repeat for the afternoon, suddenly you're going to be down an opponent. My experience with medic rules tells me you don't need the respawn walks to tire out your opponents and allow you to gain ground. If you're playing better you'll get it anyway, especially if the medic rules are well-designed like they seem to be at Gunman. I'm yet to hear a good counter argument against medic rules, but I'd be interested to hear them if you have them. Also does your field have medic rules? If so, how do they implement them?
  5. Different things matter to different people, for me it's bang for buck and ease to work on. To that end, I like CYMA; good enough quality and if you like AKs the value you get from a CM.04x is unmatched. The new ones have perfect seal up to the nozzle which is the only bit I think is worth replacing. Really impressed.
  6. I bought a set but returned it without using it. It's a 3D printed part, both the nubs I was sent were poorly finished. Lots of flash and neither of them were actually square. It's possible it doesn't matter and they would've worked fine but I've had bad experiences with 3D printed nubs before because the tolerances are generally awful. They're cheap though so you could give it a shot, I just wasn't willing to waste another game day on a shoddily made 3D printed nub. One dude on Facebook who had a build from Longbow including the chub nub had nothing but good things to say about it. Something worth noting is it's just a flathop nub so you could just try buying an after market one like Modify or maybe even making one. Don't believe the stuff about the chub nub perfectly filling the window though, from what I saw there's no way the tolerances are good enough they can guarantee that.
  7. That's what I'd advise; I think the problem with R-hoppish rubbers is that they present a flat edge to the BBs when lowered far enough into the barrel. The limit stops being how much back spin the mound can apply but how deep it can go into the window before the BB smacks into the wall. Something I've been meaning to try on an AEG I've got a similar problem with (Maple Leaf bucking) is to cut a little slope into the front of the mound to see if this helps prevent the pinch jams by removing the wall.
  8. And there I was thinking I was being innovative! What did you use to connect the fan to the hose? I'm planning on using rechargeable 9Vs.
  9. I've already had at them with a knife! I found I needed to cut lumps out for my neanderthal brows and robust nose. I think they should be quite good though; almost every eye injury I've heard of with goggles have been to do with BBs deflecting upwards off mouth protection; can't happen with these since they sit comfortably behind. I'm looking forward to the fan project though I think it's going to work out well. Got a 5cm blower fan that I'm going to install in a rear vent, then I'll attach a hose tail to the exhaust on the blower, a y-splitter on the front of the helmet, then pipe it so it should all be hidden under the helmet. I've had them before they don't cover enough of the space under my eyes. Also only 6/10 tacticool how will people understand they're dealing with a serious oper8or? I strongly suspect I'm going to end up agreeing with you. I put on Dyes and forget they exist they're so comfortable and they've never fogged once in two years. That's very reassuring thanks, I thought that might be the case and loads of people are happily using Revisions.
  10. Yeah, I mean, I agree the standards show they're more than adequate. I guess I'm just fishing for feedback from past owners why these might be inappropriate (despite the fogging).
  11. So I hear lots of people using these and I thought they looked pretty awesome. I fancied trying something lower profile than my Dye i4s and I had a notion to see if I can solve the fogging people complained about with the Boogies using a DIY helmet mounted fan setup. The thing is, the instruction manual specifically says "This goggle is not designed for use in the sport of paintball or Airsoft." My guess is it's just a way of covering asses/shirking responsibility and the ratings mean they'll stand up to anything in airsoft; does Smith just stick this on all their products? Or is there something specific about them that makes them unsafe?
  12. I normally won't go on my own, you get split up pretty fast when playing but we stay in radio contact throughout the day. Mainly it's nice to have someone to drop back and talk to when energy's running low.
  13. Quick summary, probably all mentioned already but w/e: - Sport has simple barrel with spacers and a 24mm thread, Covert has a fancy one that doesn't need spacers and a 14mm thread with a muzzle break with a 24mm thread on it. - Sport has a plastic handguard. - Sport doesn't have a thrust bearing on the spring guide. - Sport comes with the new plastic mag (plastic and metal mags are compatible with all SRSes). The Silverback website has downloadable part diagrams for the Sport and Covert you can see these differences with. I own an A2 Sport with the G-Spec barrel.
  14. Sport supports the same magazines as Covert. PSA by the way, the HTi long followers fit the plastic magazines and feed to the last BB. It also prevents the bolt from locking forward when you're empty which I find very useful. If you're the sort to hulk the bolt forward you run the risk of chopping the follower so try at your own risk.
  15. Cheat calling; I much prefer dealing with cheaters than people thoughtlessly interrupting games with yelling, swearing and complaining to the detriment of everyone's good time.
  16. Noooo don't say that I've been eyeing up some Tasmanian Tiger stuff whilst desperately trying to remind myself that £200 is a ridiculous price to pay to be able to LARP a shooty-man indiscernibly better every once in a while.
  17. I feel like my standards must be very low because I've never found fault with anything made by Viper or Emersongear!
  18. I was looking to get an 8fields clone since I've had their stuff before and it's fine, https://www.taiwangun.com/en/plate-carriers/buckle-up-assault-plate-carrier-cummerbund-multicamo-8fields However it's out of stock. Anyone know of any other decent sub-£100 similar options?
  19. If you need it in a hurry, call and cancel. They're routinely dishonest with delivery schedules.

Clones of the Socom Gear Lancer L5 Advanced WarFighter M4 magazines by Kublai in opaque black. They're advertised as 180rd and I find that's pretty accurate, though I do find in my G&G CM16 the first 10 rounds go everywhere if you try to fill them completely, don't seem to have the same problem in my Ares Amoeba CCC though Has a window at the top where you can see BBs if there's at least 100ish loaded which is a nice little feature (see photos). Decent feeling plastic, easy to get the spring out for cleaning.

  21. Same! I think I just like to feel like I'm getting my money's worth. I think if I had a gas mask for airsoft I'd probably end up putting that on too.
  22. Stick a Cyma in a Cyma, no point in taking chances with compatibility when the best option is also the cheapest. The model you want is a Cyma C.71. Seems to be sold out everywhere right now but you can still import, https://airsoft.tiger111hk.com/amp/p18907/len/airsoft/product_info.html Even if you get tagged by customs it'll probably still be cheaper anyway.
  23. I've tried a few grenades; Cyclone, Burst XL, ASG Storm 360, TRMR and Dynatex. Frankly I've been thinking of selling all the gas ones for a while; they're just not reliable and the BB spray ones are flat out worthless. Actually the only one of the bunch I genuinely like is the Dynatex; never failed once, just a little awkward to load and pull the pin. Goggles-wise my Dye i4s never fog so I don't need antifog. My partner has X800 and struggles with it but finds revision wipes effective.
  24. Yes, what you want is the Cyma C.26. Evike helpfully lists everything it's compatible with, https://www.evike.com/products/27390/
  25. This just appeared in my email and I'm just so confused, I think G&G have an AI they've trained with pictures of airsoft guns and asked it to output random new products.
