Clones of the Socom Gear Lancer L5 Advanced WarFighter M4 magazines by Kublai in opaque black. They're advertised as 180rd and I find that's pretty accurate, though I do find in my G&G CM16 the first 10 rounds go everywhere if you try to fill them completely, don't seem to have the same problem in my Ares Amoeba CCC though Has a window at the top where you can see BBs if there's at least 100ish loaded which is a nice little feature (see photos). Decent feeling plastic, easy to get the spring out for cleaning.£16

Just an extra data point; I made an order for an AKS74U last night, realised whilst watching a disassembly in advance (yes I am that sad) that it was TM rather than VFC. No good for me so I called 0930 this morning to cancel. They answered immediately and I had my PayPal refund email in 5 minutes.

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

Urgh vom what have they done with that poor ICS!? My guess is it used to be two-tone and now it's... that. Edit: nope that's what it looks like stock, https://www.airsoftgi.com/product/ICS-CXP-16-L-Sport-M4-Carbine-AEG-Airsoft-Rifle-Tan-12629/ -
Cool! How do you apply it? I've only heard of people using spray paint so I'm not familiar with using dye.

So I don't end up on this thread, what's a sensible price to ask for a stock LCT Keymod 9.5? It goes for £350 on Patrol Base, only £240 on Fire Support though but it's not in stock and I have no idea when it was last in stock so it could be just permanently out of stock and not updated. -
You're overestimating my knowledge, I figured mouse fart was a hilarious autocorrect :B

Thanks; decided to preorder the A2 Sport, here's hoping it's as good as the A1 apparently was! Slightly concerned the stock spring guide is nylon but it's a cheap part to replace if it goes bang. PS lol

General question for owners; I'm seeing a lot of upgrade discussion on this thread. If I just bought this RIF and played with it with no intention of upgrading anything, would I have a good time?
-
This is extremely characteristic of them and you can expect it to go on for potentially months. They probably will deliver eventually; in my experience they're incompetent but not dishonest. If the savings are worth it and you want to persevere you'll probably get it eventually. They really need to stop over-promising and under-delivering because I think people respond much better to "look, we have no idea when you'll get it but we'll send it when we have it" if there's large savings involved.

20% off the CM16 LMG on Patrol Base, apply voucher code BIGB0II20 at checkout to get it for £279.99. Expires midnight tonight. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-cm16-lmg Not my bag but it's a decent deal for an LMG that comes with an electric box mag and a faux bullet belt.

Active Hearing Protection Compatible with Radio?
Lollingsgrad replied to Lollingsgrad's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
When glancing at my post later I realised... I'd forgotten to reflect the pins for the headset socket (the diagram is looking into the socket but you're soldering the rear) so that I had pins 2 and 3 as ground with 4 PTT and 5 speaker! Learnt something interesting though aside from that I'm an idiot; it STILL works in reverse... BUT the mic is noisy as hell. When I corrected the connections almost all noise disappeared from the mic. I wonder if this is why you seemed to have such a bad time with noise and @DopeYourScope has been fine? -

Lollingsgrad replied to Lollingsgrad's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Success! This was actually incredibly easy once I found a pin diagram for the EZ PRR, The PTT was a little more annoying but fine once I found a diagram showing which bits of the Kenwood connector were supposed to be the speaker, PTT, mic, and ground. Got out a multimeter and figured red was mic, yellow was speaker, white was PTT and black was ground, Getting a 1B 5-pin Lemo off eBay was easier but finding a thingamajig to stop the socket rattling around inside the PTT was a pain. Eventually I found an appropriately sized o-ring, it's not the most secure thing ever but I gave it a good wrench and whilst it's flexible it's not coming out. Probably more watertight than it used to be too, Results are mixed; I found the radio sound is great but the built in mic seems to suck up every sound nearby. Good enough though not having to wear supra-aurals anymore will be lovely. -

For anyone else interested in trying this, I'm pretty sure the Lemo is a 5 pin 1B from description of the radio this headset is designed for, http://www.prc68.com/I/Bowman.shtml#AudCon "I think the 5 pin headset plug is the FGG.1B.305.KLAD62." I also found a pin out from a guy called Azrel Sutcliffe along with a photo example of wiring both of which I've attached. Will report back on how I get on. -
Active Hearing Protection Compatible with Radio?

Funnily enough, that's exactly what I'm running. They don't play nice with Dye i4s though because they just slightly intersect with the edge of the mask which over the course of a day gives me headaches, causes the headset to move, displaces my mask, etc. I'm done with supra-aurals, going to see if in ear is less of a pain in the arse. -
Active Hearing Protection Compatible with Radio?

The prices for these Racal Frontiers on eBay is insane, they're essentially active hearing protection right? The weird connector just makes it hard to hook up to a radio, ignoring that you can't get in ear active hearing protection for anywhere near £10. Is there something I'm missing here? Also whilst I'm posting here, anyone know if those 5 pin lemo connectors are 1B? I guess that's a sizing code? -

Looks like a really good solution; I might just try getting a lemo socket and modding a cheap Kenwood PTT. Do you happen to know how many pins the lemo is? -

I'm actually looking for an in ear solution now; this looks good but I don't know if I can use them. Can they be plugged into Baofengs? Also I don't understand how you're wearing these and EP4s at the same time? -

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Lollingsgrad replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
No worries it's fun to chat about. I only replaced the O-ring. As for the motor, the reason I know the SHS high torque one doesn't fit quite right is because I bought it and it doesn't fit quite right! It cost £30 so I put up with it being a fraction of a millimetre too high, it doesn't seem to adversely affect anything but my OCD. If you want to know anything else feel free to PM me! -

Cylinder head was fine after PTFE tape, the o-ring on my piston was just barely too small and sometimes failed to seal so that needed replacing. The nozzle was a lost cause so I just got a replacement SHS one with an O-ring. That took the FPS up to 270. A new motor, the stock one is so weak. Don't get the SHS high torque 16tpa though, it's a good motor but the screws on the back of it are weirdly chunky and pushes it up too far in that particular motor cage. Some epoxy to stick down the bushings might be good. Could also get some 16awg cable for rewiring and smaller cables for trigger. I actually think the stock hop unit is fine although I did replace mine without knowing what I was doing. Something I didn't realise at the time is you only change your hop unit for stable hop application if your stock one can't do it. There's no good upgrades for the P90 in this regard because the Prowin uses the stock arm anyway. You can argue airseal for changing your hop chamber but that's generally resolved with PTFE and/or the dental floss mod. As for the bucking and nub I just went straight for maple leaf because I got over excited. I wasn't blown away with the results but it's good, like a good stock gun. I suggest trying it out and making your own call or turning to others with more experience on that one. I found the stock gears are fine; I might not be the best person to ask because I prefer ~20rps. Getting silly RPS just because you want to see how to do it is a good enough reason to me though. Try stuff out, break it, fix it again, learn stuff, they're cheap! Good luck. -

Nice choice, that's the only AEG I've ever worked on and I really enjoyed it. Plus the compression on mine was utterly tragic out of the box (150-180fps on 0.2s) so I had good reason to mess with it. -
Check their Facebook page, they mention the email issues there. Might be more expedient to call or maybe try messaging on Facebook.

Active Hearing Protection Compatible with Radio?
Lollingsgrad replied to Lollingsgrad's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
These things are almost half the price and have good reviews, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07BSB7YW4/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A24AEIIXDULKWI&psc=1&th=1#productDescription_secondary_view_div_1536081008998 22dB noise reduction vs 33dB but the reviews of the 33dB one suggested they were very heavy and not great for extended use. Considering I just want to avoid hearing damage, not necessarily achieve total sound isolation, do we think these would do the trick?
