A Thread About Skara Questioning His Arp-9
Lollingsgrad replied to Skara's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
TaiwanGun's got it but delivery fees are killers and they're not as cheap as, say, Bullseye Country Sport who stock it but are out. https://www.taiwangun.com/mosfet-wires/mosfet-perun-v2-optical-back-wired-perun?q=Perun+op&campaign-id=14 You could also give contacting Perun directly a punt, they responded in a day last time I emailed them. -
A Thread About Skara Questioning His Arp-9

For nice trigger response but sensible ROF I would suggest standard 18:1 gearing, 11.1V lipo, optical MOSFET with precocking. I like the Perun one in my AK74SU. Does about 22 RPS but retains a snappy semi aided by a short light trigger pull. -
Decent looking Nuprol Delta: Nomad Alpha for £120 on there. Seems a decent price for aluminium receiver, QC spring, microswitch and functional bolt release. Also an S&T TAR21 for £190.

Really good idea with the in ear moulds, I have some of the heat mouldable plastic lying around from a previous project. What did you do to get a hole running through? Drill it or put something in it to keep it open? Also did you find the Racals could self tap their thread or did you need to mould them in too?

My regular site is doing a deal every day during lockdown, could be worth keeping eyes on. I wouldn't buy Raven for any amount of money but there's a limit to how wrong you can go with a G18C for £68 (today's deal), https://www.battleairsoft.co.uk/deal-of-the-day

10% off at BZTactical for orders over £100 with code HALLOWEEN until the end of the weekend. https://www.bztactical.co.uk/ Personally used it to get their ASG MP9 A1 which I reckon is a good deal because it's a low power version. Normally you need to shell out another £50 for a CQB bolt to make these skirmishable.

You're right, it doesn't. In future, if any business tries this with you point out that the delivery contract is between the seller and the courier; it's their responsibility to ensure it arrives not yours.

It is; incidentally I found that the thing that quietened my A2 down the most was the Rapax spring. Don't particularly understand why, it just did. Note it wasn't loud to begin with but now it's just a tiny pop.

I bought a set but returned it without using it. It's a 3D printed part, both the nubs I was sent were poorly finished. Lots of flash and neither of them were actually square. It's possible it doesn't matter and they would've worked fine but I've had bad experiences with 3D printed nubs before because the tolerances are generally awful. They're cheap though so you could give it a shot, I just wasn't willing to waste another game day on a shoddily made 3D printed nub. One dude on Facebook who had a build from Longbow including the chub nub had nothing but good things to say about it. Something worth noting is it's just a flathop nub so you could just try buying an after market one like Modify or maybe even making one. Don't believe the stuff about the chub nub perfectly filling the window though, from what I saw there's no way the tolerances are good enough they can guarantee that.

That's what I'd advise; I think the problem with R-hoppish rubbers is that they present a flat edge to the BBs when lowered far enough into the barrel. The limit stops being how much back spin the mound can apply but how deep it can go into the window before the BB smacks into the wall. Something I've been meaning to try on an AEG I've got a similar problem with (Maple Leaf bucking) is to cut a little slope into the front of the mound to see if this helps prevent the pinch jams by removing the wall.

Quick summary, probably all mentioned already but w/e: - Sport has simple barrel with spacers and a 24mm thread, Covert has a fancy one that doesn't need spacers and a 14mm thread with a muzzle break with a 24mm thread on it. - Sport has a plastic handguard. - Sport doesn't have a thrust bearing on the spring guide. - Sport comes with the new plastic mag (plastic and metal mags are compatible with all SRSes). The Silverback website has downloadable part diagrams for the Sport and Covert you can see these differences with. I own an A2 Sport with the G-Spec barrel.

Sport supports the same magazines as Covert. PSA by the way, the HTi long followers fit the plastic magazines and feed to the last BB. It also prevents the bolt from locking forward when you're empty which I find very useful. If you're the sort to hulk the bolt forward you run the risk of chopping the follower so try at your own risk.

If you need it in a hurry, call and cancel. They're routinely dishonest with delivery schedules.

Clones of the Socom Gear Lancer L5 Advanced WarFighter M4 magazines by Kublai in opaque black. They're advertised as 180rd and I find that's pretty accurate, though I do find in my G&G CM16 the first 10 rounds go everywhere if you try to fill them completely, don't seem to have the same problem in my Ares Amoeba CCC though Has a window at the top where you can see BBs if there's at least 100ish loaded which is a nice little feature (see photos). Decent feeling plastic, easy to get the spring out for cleaning.£16

Just an extra data point; I made an order for an AKS74U last night, realised whilst watching a disassembly in advance (yes I am that sad) that it was TM rather than VFC. No good for me so I called 0930 this morning to cancel. They answered immediately and I had my PayPal refund email in 5 minutes.

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread
Lollingsgrad replied to Mack's topic in General Discussion
Urgh vom what have they done with that poor ICS!? My guess is it used to be two-tone and now it's... that. Edit: nope that's what it looks like stock, https://www.airsoftgi.com/product/ICS-CXP-16-L-Sport-M4-Carbine-AEG-Airsoft-Rifle-Tan-12629/ -
Cool! How do you apply it? I've only heard of people using spray paint so I'm not familiar with using dye.

So I don't end up on this thread, what's a sensible price to ask for a stock LCT Keymod 9.5? It goes for £350 on Patrol Base, only £240 on Fire Support though but it's not in stock and I have no idea when it was last in stock so it could be just permanently out of stock and not updated. -
You're overestimating my knowledge, I figured mouse fart was a hilarious autocorrect :B
-
Thanks; decided to preorder the A2 Sport, here's hoping it's as good as the A1 apparently was! Slightly concerned the stock spring guide is nylon but it's a cheap part to replace if it goes bang. PS lol

General question for owners; I'm seeing a lot of upgrade discussion on this thread. If I just bought this RIF and played with it with no intention of upgrading anything, would I have a good time?
-
This is extremely characteristic of them and you can expect it to go on for potentially months. They probably will deliver eventually; in my experience they're incompetent but not dishonest. If the savings are worth it and you want to persevere you'll probably get it eventually. They really need to stop over-promising and under-delivering because I think people respond much better to "look, we have no idea when you'll get it but we'll send it when we have it" if there's large savings involved.

20% off the CM16 LMG on Patrol Base, apply voucher code BIGB0II20 at checkout to get it for £279.99. Expires midnight tonight. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-cm16-lmg Not my bag but it's a decent deal for an LMG that comes with an electric box mag and a faux bullet belt.

Active Hearing Protection Compatible with Radio?
Lollingsgrad replied to Lollingsgrad's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
When glancing at my post later I realised... I'd forgotten to reflect the pins for the headset socket (the diagram is looking into the socket but you're soldering the rear) so that I had pins 2 and 3 as ground with 4 PTT and 5 speaker! Learnt something interesting though aside from that I'm an idiot; it STILL works in reverse... BUT the mic is noisy as hell. When I corrected the connections almost all noise disappeared from the mic. I wonder if this is why you seemed to have such a bad time with noise and @DopeYourScope has been fine?
