  1. Yeah, I forgot bout the full auto Glocks. A lot of people use them as well but I think they can be hard to come by.
  2. The Tokyo Marui MK23 pistol is supposed to be pretty solid out of the box, not sure if it's full metal or not though. The Hi-Capa 5.1 is one with plenty of aftermarket parts to improve it over time, so that's one to consider as well. .
  3. A person is guilty of an offence if— (a)he manufactures a realistic imitation firearm; Taken from the VCRA act legislation. I personally wouldn't do it, there's plenty of ways to get IFs safely within the law, including period guns.
  4. I was looking at these guys to potentially upgrade my sniper. Can anyone shed some light light on PTFE hop, a Google search says it's something called mega teflon mod and I get the basics of it is to improve air seal or something? How does it compare to something like r-hop/flat-hop etc?
  5. Just ordered a CYMA 701 from them with the intention to upgrade it myself as a project in the new year. They offer free two-tone which is a nice extra on top of their low prices compared to UK retailers. The delivery estimate is nine days, but that’s Christmas day so I don’t expect it to arrive until after Christmas, but I’ll update when it is delivered and how the whole process went.
  6. Can confirm, I'd recommend as well. It's already pretty decent out of the box. Although I haven't had mine for quite a while now as it's off getting a paintjob
  7. That looks like a good option. The quick release spring is a decent feature.
  8. I have an old GR16 CRW sitting around and decided to turn it into a project gun where I creatively find a way to rewire it (so the battery sits in a foregrip I have) because I didn't like having it in the 'spare mag' on the side, see picture below. Probably going to require some drilling Anyway, it's now more than just a simple rewire. It seems the gearbox is broken. Nothing ever goes to plan, right? As you can see the front has cracked open, probably because the spring is too powerful. I'm going to need to fork out for a completely new gearbox now so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great. I'm going to stick with an M90 - M100 spring to keep the FPS down because this is a CQB gun after all.
  9. Wait, Nuprol is bad? I bought http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/stanag-magazines/nuprol-stanag-30140rnd-adjustable-mid-cap-magazine-x5-bundle.htm#.WYtm7lGGOUk for when I get my gun back from being painted so I won't get to try them for however long that takes
  10. I've been researching this recently as I want the experience of upgrading something myself. I came across this on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/5rejui/holy_grail_bolt_action_sniper_guide_building_a/ Basically for a VSR it seems you'd want, in the long run, to get eveything he lists: Action Army hop chamber Action army hop rubber ZCI barrel (He recommends this brand, however it's up to you) AirsoftPro V4 trigger kit M150 spring for ~500fps He also uses silicone tubing to make his own R-Hop, saying it's superiour to normal flat hop. There is a video in the guide detailing how to do that. Airsoft sniping isn't cheap. All of that is around £200 I belive. Plus there is the time it takes to install eveything, and you're new to this so expect to make mistakes and have to take the gun apart and try again Honestly though, I think the hardest part would be making the r-hop but he goes on to say you can just use a VSR cut barrel and a Maple Leaf Autobot hop rubber as it's easier to install but not as good. If anyone with experience can add anything to this I would greatly appeciate it as well.
  11. Looks great! Can't wait to get mine back
  12. Got this old gun from someone I know so there are issues to be expected. But when I shoot it, it will be fine and then all of a sudden it stops shooting, however it sounds and feels like the motor is still moving and a loud clunking noise starts and it feels like something somewhere is loose. In the picture I've added I've circled a little gap behind the hop up where I can see something moving when I fire the gun and it doesn't look very consistent with its moving backwards and forwards. I'm still new to airsoft so have absolutely no idea what could be wrong. I'm hoping it's something that can be fixed and if so can anyone recommend someone who can repair airsoft guns?
  13. Thanks! Although I might be buying a couple of guns from someone I know, but they run hot so they will probably need some spring clipping.
  14. Really interested in coming along to this as I haven't been to The Mall yet. However, I'm hopefully sending my gun of to GearTech for a paint commission this week so it might not be back in time, I'll have to get an estimate on lead times and then book around that but hopefully I'll see some of you there
  15. RIFT looks pretty good and is a site I'm going to try at somepoint soon
