All back together, not running any resistors for the moment, I can always add some in if it proves unreliable. i know blue leds light up green BBs well, the UV ones are for red tracers, we generally run a mix of both just because… I have some white leds as well but the blue/UV mix just looks a bit cooler in the side of the gun. The gun this is in is HPA so no mosfet required. i do like to run a separate battery feed for the built in tracer mostly just because that is how we’ve always done it and you can choose to run the tracer or not. -

I’ve not yet tested this with bbs yet, my son has run a mad bull tracer hop for years and I never noticed the bbs out of that being any brighter than ones through my flash unit tracer. this one is a lot brighter than the mad bull unit though so I guess we will see. we can’t fit a tracer unit on this gun as it has an integrated silencer so one can’t be fitted. -

3.2-3.8 fv - I am running them off a 9v battery, the resistors are really small IIRC, I bought them off bright components for pennies really and yes running parallel. One 9v lasts around 6 hours or so. -

I can’t recall offhand but I did the calcs and the resistors are needed, I tried a few variations and blew lots of leds in the testing -

2 leds per side, one set of UV one set of blue (UV light up red tracers better) two would probably have been fine but why take chances I think I could do a neater job for the next one -
are you missing the brass barrel ring?
-
which o ring need changing? The one on the inside of the fill valve i find impossible to change, the one on the outside just get yourself a darts o ring installer, makes it an absolute doddle -you can find them on ebay for about £4

Played again at TAC House Spartan "The Stan" this sunday, we linked up with F Team Airsoft who drove up from portsmouth to Sheffield to give the site a try. All in all a good day, we clocked in the fastest pushback time ever since the site re-opened at just over 9 minutes. we defended it for 23! Decent selection of games as usual and they have just opened up an new staircase and we were the first ones to play across 3 floors, which is not great on the legs! Hit taking was good (it usually is here) and everyone seemed to play in the spirit of the game which always make the day better. if you haven't been back to the Stan since it re-opened it is well worth a visit. Took delivery of this gun on sunday and then he ran it for most of the day. First thoughts - it was cheap at £350 so we expected some issues, the original plan was to take the innards and fit them to one of the receivers we already have, stick a gearbox back in the chassis and sell that to recoup some of the outlay. other than a couple of cosmetic bits the gun is fine, stylistically it needs work on the front hand guard and there is some paint pulled off by removing a sticker but that is easily sorted. The trigger needs shimming as it isn't sitting quite right and occasionally won't register a pull, the battery connector needs extending (and converting to deans to match our existing batteries) but other than that functionally it is fine. Shooting is pretty decent, the first shot of an engagement is a bit inconsistent but after that it responds well to the trigger (apart from the above statement) and full auto is like a laser . we ran .25s all day and again a bit inconsistent in where they might end up, not end of the world stuff just a bit irritating and nothing we did with the hop changed it for the better. plan now is to get some .32s to try those, if I remember I'll report back when we've done that. I should probably update my gun list as there is quite a few now... But thanks to those that replied, I am just getting back into airsoft after a fairly long hiatus, the last last time I played was on a day at a new site with new marshalls and probably somewhat predictably it was a terrible day full of players on god mode so guns went back in the attic until just recently.

I've always done the same, but there is a certain attractiveness to paying a few quid and knowing it will come back back working as expected rather than having to strip it down to a gearbox AGAIN because you fitted the wrong length nozzle. ** I am not saying I've done that this week but I did order a couple of new nozzles from AK2M4 today...

Not looking for recommendations but I am interested in experiences. I've done plenty of work on my own guns and there isn't a single thing that I haven't changed or had apart in an AEG and they (mostly) work afterwards, but lately I am finding that it is more frustrating than rewarding doing the work myself. so the question I guess is what sort of money is it to get work done, lets say gearbox shimming or changing a piston or even just a general service what sort of cost is it? Thanks for the replies - I guess we will run it with the BBs we have and see how it plays.
-
perhaps I should mention we mostly play CQB with occasional outdoor (very occasional)

My son is about to get his first HPA rifle this weekend, he is being told that it is pointless using BB weight under 32's as we usually run with 25s in the AEG's this could be an a PITA. I can't see how it would make much difference - am i wrong? Simon

Charger is an Imax B6 which I think can do a conditioning charge as well if memory serves. I'll give the batteries a charge up and chrono the guns, hopefully they will all work as they should - I can't recall what mix of springs and hop rubbers I have in everything so hopefully nothing is too hot. Just need to see if I can get some fitness back before I run around like a loon all day

so the last time I went to an airsoft event was in 2019 (I think, could have been 2018) and every gun I had with me played up to such an extent it ruined the day. I got home in a mood chucked the kit in the attic and told myself I was done with airsoft. I then decided I was going to sell all my kit but needed to get it all working, so bought mosfets, new gears and all sorts of bits and went through every one of my guns and made them all work again as they should do. Then I thought why sell everything I'll just do a few events, by this time it is march 2020 and we all know what happened next... so with one thing and another since lockdown ended I've been Ill, my partner had a significant spinal operation and I needed to manage her recovery from that and I never got around to going to any events or selling the kit until today. So I've booked for the 5th of December with bloodbath events at Clipstone headstocks now at this point my lipos are probably 6 years old, all 1450mAh 7.4v 25C 10Wh things, they seem in good shape not bloating or anything (they were put away with a maintenance charge) and seem to be charging fine, will these still be good, are there any better options out there these days? Similarly the BB's I have will be at least two years old, they should still be fine - i guess I'll find out when I do some test firing this week, other than that what is new in the world of airsoft? Possibly more useful outdoors/Non CQB but certainly not essential.

This surprises me, I haven't had issues with any other generic m4 mags at all
-
it is only the mag that came with it I had any issues with, non of my other mags were a problem.

Yep some more of those, I really like the way they are made and each one comes in a lovely little presentation box that is totally unnecessary but makes you feel like you have bought a quality product. I am also interested in the magnets, will be giving those a go when they come back in stock
