https://store.brightcomponents.co.uk/product/10x-3mm-uv-purple-flat-top-ultra-bright-led-10-pieces/ these are the LEDs I use, my circuit is super simple positive to positive neg to neg, resistors on the negative leg. If you speak with bright components they will give you a circuit and resistor values depending on what power source you intend on using. You can buy the resistors from there as well Simon

Sounds like a decent plan, have you calculated the run time with the 2032’s? I get about 3 hours with a 9v
-
I’ve done a load of these and I always wire to a separate battery, it is just easier and I am fairly convinced that by have the led lit all the time energises the bb’s a bit better. I used to do 2 LEDs each side of the hop but the last one I did was just two on one side, it was easier to wire and should last a bit longer on the 9v battery I pair them with. worth noting that there is a new tracer hop recently released that only costs about £30 and should fit most m4 receivers Some examples IMG_2999.mov IMG_2643.mov

If it has a removable flash hider then most 14mm ccw tracer units should fit, otherwise you need something hop based

just be careful with the t238 I had lots of "fun" making mine work as it should. The error I was getting was with the selector gear, but it was actually the selector plate needed trimming, took me ages to figure it out.

Page isn't working, redirected you too many times. I get the same from my ipad as well and just like magic now it is working!

is anyone else having issues with the www.ak2m4.co.uk website or is it just my laptop?
-
It is hiding what looks like a small crack in the grip
-
Anyone got any idea? Looks like it retailed around £250-300 so if I put it up at £130 that wouldn't be unreasonable would it?
-
Got this as part of a deal, shoots nice and flat around 270-280, not idea about internals so assume standard.
-
Is there a what’s it worth thread? I picked up a nuprol ak21 as part of a deal that I want to move on. But no idea what sort of value it has

if you are buying new guns regularly then fair enough! other than that it is a waste of time in my view.
-
Other than buying new guns what do you need ukara for? I haven't had it in about 8 years

Back at the Stan again this sunday, 8 from our regular team (Sherwood Sentinels) and then another 6 including my Son in Law and Grandson so we made up not far off half of the players booked on for the day. Played the usual selection of games, pushback, the case game and then kill confirmed (final game of the day was infected but I never play those) for the most part the day went pretty well, we were dominating a little and this usually leads to bitching and today was no exception. What we are starting to find is that opposition are not used to or expecting a co-ordinated organised team coming at them with a plan and this leads to assumption you must be running god mode. Apparently a couple of people left at lunchtime saying they had a decent day but have since been spouting how rubbish it is and they will never be back, for those people you just need to be better, if you genuinely have a problem raise it with the marshals there and then, at least they have a chance to address your issues. There were a couple of speedsofters there who were copping a lot of flak for running hot and not hit taking, but I played on their team and against them and had no issue at all, they were even randomly Chrono'd and came in well under the limit. People just like a target to moan about sometimes. I know I have said it before but it is worth saying again, if you haven't tried the Stan since it re-opened give it a go, night games every other friday night (lots of fun in the dark) and every Sunday. also check out their socials (bias to declare here as my Son has just started managing them for them ) https://www.instagram.com/tachouse_thestan/ Friday night squad, we are back again this friday

Before you put any tape on it give it a good clean with fairy power spray.

Was at the Stan in sheffield for a last minute night game, low-ish numbers which usually means for good gameplay there, basically had a blast and as it got really dark felt a bit like being in a star wars shoot out with all the tracers flying around. Went back there again on sunday for a morning shoot for fathers day, slightly higher numbers but still low for the site, again had lots of fun, the pushback and case games really are a lot of fun and there was minimal non hit taking which is always good. If you've not been to the Stan since it re-opened it really is worth a shot as it is a great site that is well run with generally a good standard of players.

Give this man a biscuit, put my old windy mags in tonight and not a shot dropped below 300.
-
I opened the gun to check this and it is actually a vented cylinder, but is still the standard one.
-
I'm running some 200 round nuprol mid cap mags, they run fine in other guns I own so I had discounted those as an issue, not noticed if the differences are apparent right the way through the mag or just at the start or end - worth thinking about though actually. Thinking about it when I first changed the spring I chrono'd it with the original high cap mag that came with the gun and it was inconsistent with that mag, but I put it down to it being a new spring and needing bedding in a bit. Can't recall what the bucking was offhand, but the original was very crispy so went in the bin, I do have an MR bucking and nub in the parts tub that I could give a try.

Cylinder is the original non vented that came with the gun, barrel length is 300mm. I’ll give the paper test a try

I have an ICS CXP-APE, I've had it for a good while now and having recently got back into airsoft started using it again after it was sitting for 3-4 years. It was shooting low so I put a new hop rubber in it and it was back up to around 250 ish fps. trying to bring that up I put a m110 spring in it and got it to 330 fps - too much for most sites I play at. Dropped it down to a m95 spring and back down to 250, and then tried m90, m100 and still couldn't get it shooting better than 280. I then put a 11.1v lipo in it to see if it need a bit more power and immediately stripped the teeth off the piston. So I put a new metal toothed piston and new piston head in it and went back to the original m90 spring and it was shooting at around 280 consistently. I put a tightbore Barrel on it (from AK2M4)and no change in FPS I then went back to the m95 and fps went down, so again changed to the m100. I now get anything between 250 and 310 but with no consistency at all, I get good compression on the gearbox, I can't see any issues with the standard hop unit (they are prone to cracking apparently) so now I am a bit lost for ideas, the bottom end of the gearbox is all standard and recently serviced as it is easy to do on a split gearbox everything seems to rotate nicely and smoothly. So now a bit lost for ideas other than changing the barrel back to standard or trying a different hop rubber, what I really want from this gun is consistent power and good accuracy - any ideas about where to look next?

Went to the farm in Lincoln yesterday for the first time yesterday and apart from some really inconsistent performance from my ICS APE had a great morning, I say morning because into the second game after lunch my son got a call to say his son was being rushed to hospital with a suspected broken leg. We rushed off to pack up and leave, and while doing so were asked why we were leaving and then instantly offered a refund for half the day that we would miss. We declined and we told that if we came back to mention it on booking and they would only charge us half a day. Just to add a cherry on the top my son posted on the Lincolnshire airsoft page to say how appreciative he was of the gesture and the first response was from the farm team to ask how his son was doing (fine btw thankfully not a serious break). So not only is it a really interesting site to play, it is well run, good game play and pretty decent people running it to, and a second cherry is that it is really reasonably priced for a full game day!

What do you do when you can’t find a max tracer unit for your hop?

It’s been out for its first game day today at Gaol, and while most of the gameplay ended up being outdoors, this did work brilliantly for the indoor sections. -

there are online calculators that you put in the LED voltage, no of LEDs circuit type and battery supply and it will tell you what resistors you need. I can assure you many many LEDs were destroyed in this process as I practiced!
