  1. Yes, Karrimor is just an intellectual property these days, same as Kangol, Sondico and Slazenger. It is how Ashley does things...buys the brand so it can be put on any old thing. Am sure some items are still good...but I would expect to get what you pay for.
  2. "Buy it at our discounted price with a full 12 month warranty OR take the responsibility yourself if you have any issues with your rifle and we will knock £250 off the price." That is an ambiguous statement then. It reads like the £799.99 is the discounted price (which it is) and then you can knock another £250 off. Hmm.
  3. I grabbed some Goretex Merrell Allout Blaze 'trainers' from eBay for about half the RRP - well worth looking into - very comfortable, waterproof thus far and seem to be hard-wearing. They are a blue/grey though. When it isn't wet, I wear Merrell Chameleon Wrap 'trainers' which are a lower cut but a better colour match for my loadout.
  4. US MARPAT is pretty damn effective and not seen a lot... The slightly greener CADPAT is hardly ever seen *bad-dum tish* on a skirmish day IMHO and I would dare say could be more effective than MARPAT. Danish M84 is very good in woodland - maybe almost as effective as Flecktarn - which I rate pretty much the highest. US Tri-Colour BDUs are a classic look, cheap-as-fries and easily sourced with lots of pouches/vests etc., as well.
  5. Airsoft World are selling a Systema M4 PTW for £799.99 - but appear to be also offering a further £250 off of that if you buy it without accepting a warranty. Also, they are selling an A&K M249 Para for £249.99.
  6. Ditch the M4 idea, get yourself a £270 ICS Galil ARM and breathe in the wood and metal goodness, the ambi-fire-selector and totally badass Tom-Sizemore-in-Heat-look.
  7. Hoping that Mrs Dentonboy has taken the hint over a TAD Gear merino neck warmer and a Brandit bag. May have to treat myself to something after Christmas with any cash that finds its way to me; would love a Stealth hoodie or a Maruzen PPK...
  8. Fair enough, I was under the impression that the CMs were pretty damn good all round. Not owned one, so only going on reviews.
  9. The price of G&G makes them stand out!!! I can't quite believe how Classic Army have fell away...their M249 and AUG were excellent.
  10. Tokyo Marui for me make the best pistols. I would argue that they make the best AEGs too; although ICS, G&P and G&G make some damn good AEGs too.
  11. I've been buying up TAD Gear now for about a year. I do skirmish in some of it (because it is damn tough and very warm) and I use it for trail walking, etc. Yes, it is expensive. But you can genuinely see in the quality and the features what you are paying for. The stitching is tight and reinforced, the traditional weak points are reinforced, the pockets are numerous and well located and the colours work well for both skirmishing and casual wear. Win win. The Praetorian merino hoodie is one of the warmest, most comfortable items of clothing you could imagine. The Ranger hoodie negates the need of a coat or jacket on an average UK Autumn night or winter's day in my experience so far. The Recon trousers are beading off rain after several low temperature washes and the Force 10 cargo pants feel and look brand new after almost a year of wearing them. Buy what you can afford, but if you can stretch a bit more for a top brand like TAD Gear or Arc'teryx, then I would say 'go for it'. In comparison, my Patagonia L5 softshell jacket is bobbling quite a bit after only a few outings and the Helikon Multicam trousers I bought the other day for spares feel like tissue paper when compared to the OPS shirt they'll be paired with. Buy cheap, buy twice indeed.
  12. I'm up for a meet up in a local Lewes pub...usually skirmish at Dog Tag or Ace Combat. Would like to try UCAP Sandpit or Battle Lakes before The Festivities start.
  13. Why can't I copy and paste a review into a new post on here?!

  14. Hi, been on Arnies and Z1 forums for a while...was on the ASCUK forum too a while back. Thought I'd have a nose around here too! Been playing with airsoft guns since I bought a TM NBB Desert Eagle from Battle Orders in 1993, skirmishing since 2005 in Sussex, Kent and Hampshire, so, well, 'hi!'
