  1. Thanks guys, I've ordered the adapter from ANT supplies this morning. Much appreciate the help. Alex
  2. Sorry if I worded it badly. My Original EOTech is set up for a 25mm rail, however has been converted to 20mm for airsoft use. The 19.5mm Rail on my G&G L85A2 is therefore not quite wide enough to get a good fit and I was wondering if anyone had modified the rail to get a secure fit with a 20mm accessory, rather than me further modifying a EOTech sight that has already been heavily modified to bring it down from 25mm to 20mm That ANT Supplies one looks like it may do the job nicely though! Think I'll give them a call - thanks for the tip. Alex
  3. I've had some issues with RM recently too. Most recently it was some car wax I tried to send last week - got returned as it contained a solvent.... Sent it TNT no problem even when fully declaring what it was and the solvent content.
  4. Hi Guys, Recently got a great G&G L85A2 which I would like to add a genuine EOTech 552 sight to. The sight has been modified to take a 20mm rail rather than the 25mm that is standard. Obviously the G&G rail on this gun is a 19.5mm so it's not secure, especially being the longer model sight. I've ready on forums of people modifying the sight with Shim's to get an extra .25mm on each which is a possibility but as it's already a few hundred quid worth of sight modified I really don't want to restrict it's use to only the 19.5mm rail. Has anyone had any success modifying the rail directly to get a 20mm holo sight in there? The other option is to buy a cheaper 552 replica and modify that if the rail really isn't an option. Many thanks in advance, all help appreciated! Alex
  5. Man that really sucks - sorry to hear it broke first time out. You really need either a killflash or a perspex protector of some sort to avoid issues like this. I appreciate that's a bit late now for you
  6. Another vote for the GoPro. I do have a few cheaper alternatives as well but if I want something recording properly I always reach for the GoPro. Plus it's really easy to buy cheap accessories for them too as the market is literally flooded. You won't regret spending the extra few ££.
  7. I had dealings with this company a good few years ago under the old name and found them to be ok. Sorry to hear of your bad experiences, will certainly be a bit wary if I ever intend to order anything from them again, these days I do tend to call to check stock before ordering though.
  8. A local fasteners & Fixings shop will probably be able to hook you up with something that would fit exactly and do the same job for about 40p.
  9. You can get a Killflash from Chinese sellers on eBay for less than £7 which are exactly the same as the ones sold by UK retailers for over twice the price. Saves the expensive sight for sure.
  10. Thanks for the replies guys. I appreciate it does kind of look like I'm trying to circumvent the rules but I would like to think it's more that I have experience of how to correctly transport and manage a RIF and that I'm only going to use it for the intended purpose. I'm likely to have my first few encounters in the airsoft world at a couple of different sites as that's how the calendar has panned out so anything that makes it easier for me to settle into it, like buying my own equipment once I've tried some, would be much better for me IMHO. Once again thank you for taking the time to reply. Alex
  11. Hi guys, I'm coming to the hobby from reenactment but. Need to check something after a conversation with a retailer today who wouldn't sell to me without a UKARA number. I was under the impression that as a reenactor (with RIFs already) who has a valid membership of a fully insured reenactment organisation I would be allowed to buy a RIF from an airsoft retailer before I gotinthe relevant skirmishes to get my UKARA number. Are they correct in saying I need the number first? Thanks I'm advance Alex
  12. Hi guys, I'm Alex from Hastings and I'm all rather new to this airsoft stuff. I've spent a lot of time in the past with paintball and for the past 6 years have been involved in reenactment but now some good friends of mind have convinced me to join in with the world of airsoft. I've got my first event scheduled for mid August which I am really looking forward to and will be researching and trying to get as ready as I can. Look forward to joining in wih the community and hopefully meeting some of you at local events etc. Alex
