The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Mtemprell replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
This fun little mini colt. Looking forward to trying to get a kill with us in a skirmish. Perfect to conceal in a pocket. -
That's a gbb trait. It's because the slide or bolt doesn't have enough ump to do a full stroke to disengage the trigger so you get a burst of full auto. Worth using higher powered gas in cooler months and top up gas on every BB refill. Should minimise that fault.

I deleted my Facebook account 2 years ago and never looked back and don't miss the thing. Was once a good tool and still is if used right but that's the thing so many don't use it right. I think we are wandering a bit off topic now for this thread.

I can definitely understand the added safety element to barrel socks. I think I'm just thinking too much into my GBBR mind set of I have no mag in my gun so it can't fire a round and forget about the retards with aegs who don't observe the no dry fire rule. So definitely appreciate the added safety they offer.

Just read through their full t&c and rules and I get the feeling it's a site that doesn't speak to me. What's all this about barrell socks must be worn, I have never played a site that requires this and has trust everyone has fully downloaded their weapons.

Or next hell move to a rental only site. Can only use his guns. Put a meter on the toilet like at the sea side so 50p for a piss.
-
That's a shit rule. I like to have my own snap, always pack sandwiches or something of the like, and if a site says I can't do that I just see it as money grabbing as they are more bothered about making cash off their customers who have already paid a bit to be there. My brother-in-law has severe allergies and can't have a lot of food or food that has even been in the vicinity of cheese otherwise he goes in anaphylactic shock, so if they are doing cheese burgers that day he can't have anything off the grill so it's best he brings his own snap that he knows what's in it and

Always a pain when a site is mile away from you. Takes me just over a hour and 10 to get there. But it is a great site for sure.

That's my view too. I even bit the bullet and decided to try a site alot complain about, phoenix Airsoft. Not a bad site in its self but wasn't a fan of some people there. Tac house the Stan in Sheffield isn't a bad site at all, nicely laid out over 3 floors of old factory, some of it I feel is perfect for people who love fast play. The owners are decent and run it well as they did in their old site in chesterfield. In November I'm travelling to Gloucester to try the prison cqb site there, hopefully from what I've heard it's a good site and ran well. No idea how I managed to convince the Missus that while we are on holiday that way that I can play a game. But she agreed and allowed me to book on, I'm sure she'll enjoy herself with the dogs for the day.

I'll second this. They have a great indoor set up. Build inside a warehouse unit with a scratch built village setting inside. They have the ability to add visual and sound effects to the environment to simulate thunder, vehicle movement, aircraft and gun fire and much more. The staff are great and friendly and marshaled really well, they issue out a number arm band at the start of the day and if they need to deal with one player they can track it via CCTV and call out that one player.
-
I'm planning a game there next month too. When are you going?
-
Definitely something like that. Knock the old prison blocks down and build something new and shit that no one asked for.
-
Definitely does suck. Especially when they are good sites. The hobby has really shrunk in respect to sites available in my local area. When I started 15 years ago I had around 5 sites in a 10 mile radius that has now shrunk to 2. Always regret not getting some some sites before they went for good, like the mall I always wanted to try that but sadly it closed in the 8 years i was away from the game.

Absolutely gutted to hear today that the gaol in Oakham may close in 3 months. Was such a good site and ran really well on all my visits. Will miss this place. Hopefully it lasts longer than Jan and the rolling notice keeps extending.
-
Seen this back in September with an even higher price.
-
Now that's a must especially for a any sites that charge for brews or don't have the hot water facilities. (I'm a tight northerner so don't like paying for a brew I can make at home haha.)

If you have them always take more than 1 battery 2 should be a minimum and change it at half way through the day even if the other battery seems ok, last thing you want is to be in a game straight after dinner and the battery died halfway through that game. Don't forget your eye pro, seen it many times some one has all the gear, a nice clean new gun cool looking chest rig and so on but they forgot about eye pro, don't cheap out on eye pro as ideally it needs to be a minimum of en166s rated. What mags are you using hi caps or mid caps? Hi caps are good for a beginner as you can carry less weight and bulk but have plenty of ammo on you, whereas mid caps you'll need more mags and have to be weary of how much your firing as mag changes are more common. I always take a spare change of clothes for incase of any emergencies like slipping or kneeling in mud and and clothes get filthy and you have something clean to travel home in. Also make sure you either take your gun in the original box as a minimum or a carry bag, don't go carrying it over your shoulder as you want to keep it low key until in the site your attending. Most importantly take your enjoyment and enjoy your day, don't take it too seriously as your only beginning and don't start arguing with other players and take your hits and you'll get on just fine.

RIP to the SCAR, FN Ceased Production.
Mtemprell replied to Chev Chelios's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
The issue was fn had no real military interest in the scar and the only was acquired by SF units. Even then the us socom units soon removed it from their inventory as most soldiers didn't like it as much as had a more higher failure rate to the M4 platforms used. So fn discontinuing it i understand why. Luckily this won't effect Airsoft production as there will always be a need for it as a Airsoft gun. -
Smoking something crazy there. So crazy it could cause a kid a serious injury. That degraded rubber and non rated lenses.
-
You won't regret it.
-
@mightyjebus booked on to 30th November so hopefully bump into you there.
-
Do love my mp7. Got a new vfc mp5 to try out in a cqb game.
-
That's why I love GBBR too. Plus the realism to their operation and strip down. Gives me some nostalgia to my time in the Forces, still remember the whole weapons drills for the l85 off by heart haha.
-
Agreed. Themed games don't feel too special and get too common.
-
Was just about to say this. I've used propane from day 1 of my first rif 15 years ago and never ever used silicone in the gas, not once had a issue with any guns. My we l85 has never had new seals in the nozzle or mags and it seals and runs beautifully. So I have always felt silicone in the gas is a myth that it's needed. But that's only my personal experience.
