That doesn't sound too bad at all. Done a good job there. Motor hight might be a tad high that's all I'd say, but through my phone speakers I'd says it's a good job.

You sure it isn't a super dooper do all riffle that can reach out to the end of the world and back again.

Good luck and enjoy bud. It is definitely worth the effort for the end product. To know you made a gun run so much better by yourself.

The way I shim up is remove everything out the gearbox and get just the 3 gears. The bevel gear have no shim on the Bottom and fit the other half of the box and test to see what play you have, then start at smallest shim and keep testing till have minimal play, you don't want it tight up otherwise it won't spin freely. For the spur fit it in with the Bevel and using a feelers gauge find the gap at the base of the gear to the bearing and use the shim that is same as that gap. Repeat again with fitting top of gear box and shimming till the play is minimal. Repeat again for the sector gear. Once done screw the gear box together with all gears and shims inside and test for correct meshing and try manually turning the gears to ensure free movement. Once your happy grease up gears and bearings and rebuild the box. It is a slow process but at the end there's big pride in what you've achieved.

Went today to rift Blackstone cqb with a small group of 4. What can I can, such a great set up they have there and very well managed by the staff. If you haven't been before it's basically a whole town build inside a storage warehouse fully complete with loads of static furnishings to make it look genuine. It was my first game with my new vfc hk416a5 and got to say I love this gun for sure, was the perfect main weapon for this environment. First game of the day was a capture the flag game, one team started upstairs sporn and other team in the down stairs sporn, 4 flags to capture, I was on blue team, first run of this game was a draw and then after 20min a quick change around and start from the other sporn, unfortunately we lost this round with just 1 flag to 3 red flags. This site it's self has so much potential and so many opportunities for different scenarios, especially with their full light and sound control of the area so they can make it look day light then next game night time, throw in some appropriate sound effects like dogs barking, planes flying overhead, lightning sounds and lighting. Really made the game for me. Would fully recommend this site to any cqb nuts.

Ouch he's definitely smoking something crazy.

That's the one. I bought it years ago when it was newish to the market. Never again.
-
That is true. As described is always a gamble. One reason I like to view any gun I purchase before buying.
-
It's definitely on the higher side but not a rip if it is as described. Brand new your talking £460 ISH from UK suppliers.

Cheers bud. Wasn't sure if this was steel on the V3 as there's so much conflicting information out there about V2 and V3 differences.

Hey guys. Just got my 416 and love it. Just one thing I've noticed it's a A5 gen3 but for some reason the trigger seems to be alloy not steel. Is this something they changed as everything thing else inside it is steel and the gen 3 upgrades are present.

I was thinking of trying this site as it's in my end of the country will definitely give it a go.

Yea definitely. I bought a Ra tech nozzle for my l85 and it was so bad it smashed up my hop chamber and constantly miss fed. Only Ra tech bits I use are their npas as they do seem decent never had an issue with those.
-
Ahh gutted man. We all do those little fuck ups. I had on my l85 a crack on the front of the fram so tried a fix of welding it at work but not clicking on it's cheap chineasium metal and just melted it before my eyes soon as the arc touch it, so had to buy a replacement part. Definitely looking forward to getting the 416. Got a good deal with it 6 mags, the rifle and carry bag all for £500 seconds hand rifle but near new never fielded so hopefully got a great rifle there.

I thought that might be the case as it took weeks to arrive when I ordered it. I'll definitely steer clear in the future if that's the case. From your experience what companies these days are good to use for parts as I've been out the game for 8 years and things have changed so much since I played originally, for 1 gbb at the time bar pistols was a big niche and not many companies at it but the ones doing it where great but they are now terrible or fell off the map.

Has anyone used the clutch precision parts? I ask as I'd like to buy some upgrade parts but my first experience with them isn't good. I bought their mp7 base plate and not at all satisfied with it, the precision part of their name doesn't seem to be there, had to file and shape it to get to fit correctly and the holes they mill out for the but stock are way too big and don't hold the stock correctly in my book compared to the OEM plastic one (pictured below for comparison). I wouldn't recommend this part to anyone to replace a broken OEM plate instead just get a replacement plastic one with a steal latch as it'll be so much cheaper that this one. Might be designed in Germany but their production is sourced out to Asia and imagine this is where the lack of precision can stem from. Are all of their upgraded parted of the same quality? if so this is a company I'll be putting in the same category as Ra tech and not buying any more from them.

Hey guys. Just purchased my hk416 and can't wait to get it in my hands. Been a GBBR guy all my Airsoft life and had many different ones my main one being a we l85 that I've owned since 2014 so changing to the vfc M4 platform will be a big change up for me. Got the vfc mp7 gen 2 I plan to run as a side arm along with the 416. Will be keeping the l85 as a back up rifle as keeps with my ex British forces mind set.
-
Obviously doesn't know the mp7 platform. This one's worse than the we not even full size, just to think the price he's after I got a vfc gen 2 with 6 mags for similar price.

Is it the woods? I bet it's the woods.

I remember back when they did sort of allow it around 12 years ago. Bought my first rif from an Airsoft selling group. Now they are too twitchy because they don't like fire arms full stop.

I fully agree with what you say about people controlling their posts to make them look rosy and positive. I do photography as another hobby and the amount of times I post constructive criticism on someone's post who asked for a opinion on their shot then to have my comment deleted because they don't agree with my opinion to help them out, happens way to often especially with the younger generations who think they are the bees knees because their mates say they are. Happens way too often hence why I moved away from Facebook and barely comment anymore on Instagram posts.

The ads on this forum really are annoying me. Keep popping up every page I visit. Minimise it then seconds later a new one pops up.

Welcome to the forum. I'm also Midlands based. Hopefully meet one day at a game.

Oh yea I fully agree with all the points you raise. That's what I mean by keep telling myself it's Airsoft and not RS it's just a pain to let go of habits from being a target shooting instructor for the cadets. A plastic ball flying in the air out of a smooth barrel isn't going to perform accurate at all every shot.
