    I have managed to manufacture a solution to my issue by shimming the mag catch on the magazine with 1mm of extra material, and sloped the BB catch in the mag just slightly to reduce the resistance when it's being pushed by the hop-unit. The shimming allows it to sit just slightly taller into the hop-unit which neutralises the feeding issue. It could perhaps mean that my RPK-74M is a bit of a lemon and that mag catch is cut just slightly too short despite it having no issues feeding from LCT own mags or CYMA mags. It's a tedious fix to have to modify 10 mags, but a fix nontheless. No such thing as milspec when it comes to AKs I suppose aha.

    Tbf you can just set lower limits at your site. CQB sites round my bit have lower power limits. Higher legal ones would be nice for variety, but it is what it is.

    So you do indeed have the gen 2 mags. I can only assume TWI has done something different to the position of the catch or something silly as the gen 1's worked beautifully. It might be worth asking in the RUSFOR facebook groups, perhaps someone with gen 2 mags could help further

    Interesting now that you ask. I bought them advertised as 180rnds, but never really counted untill now. I only get 130 rnds into the mag

    One of my adverts has already auto renewed, the other 3 "end" in 3 days and 1 hour so I assume once they're done I can finally post stuff into the classifieds again 🙏 I miss being able to use a decent website for adverts, usedairsoft and prefired just aren't the same 😂

    Are they 150 or 180 rounds? Yeah, stock hop unit in both replicas. However the mags I had where the gen 1’s, so perhaps something has changed?

    I'm under the impression I am using the gen2 mags? These being the ones with a shine finish and completely captive. From old review videos of the mags they appear to be a matt finish and able to be dissasembled. When I bought from them from Airsoft World, they were advertised as the *new* type which came after lockdown. I had bought 10 of these, but they all have the same issue for me, so it's not just the one mag being a lemon. They were also bought a while ago so I'm committed to owning them haha. I presume you had stock LCT hop-units in both your RPK and 105 when you used them?

    I'd say the power limits are fine where they are. This is because, as others have posted, higher joules doesn't equal more range and one factor not mentioned is that if it did it would make many smaller sites unplayable. Image how boring it would be if both sides just got 10 yards out of their spawn and lobbed shots at each other.

    All of the Airsoft under folders are terrible because of how little support the under folder actually has. Unlike the real thing which is a full on bar (I believe, been a while since I’ve had a real steel under folder in front of me) it gets really weak over time and will end up failing. The GHK is probably the only reliable under folder (but still suffers the same issues) but also the most unreliable internals unless you win the GHK lottery TL;DR you got a much better deal lol

    Using 2 pistols together looks tacticool but tbh is more hassle than it's worth as inevitably you end up firing both guns at the same target but with badly aimed shots and then there's the issue of reloading. By all means let him give it a go bit I wouldn't be surprised if he decides it's not worth it after a short time

    This. Governments are notoriously tight fisted so would pick the cheapest option available (although it also wouldn't surprise me if they doubled the budget doing feasibility studies to tell them what anyone with common sense would already know)

    I mean they're using AliExpress gear in Ukraine rn on both sides. Partly out of desperation, partly because something that does a crap job is better than nothing at all.
