Which carrier is handling it? Stuff can get caught up if it's marked as airsoft even if there's no complete RIFs inside. I've had this with UPS a couple times.
enzo47 Posted Monday at 19:05 Posted Monday at 19:05 recently my steel bolt was hold by custom just cause it was labeled airsoft related. Ups made me fill out a declaration. asked for ukara reason why I was purchasing it and whole other bunch of Questions. is thats just ups ........I never had that before . I had ring them up chase down till finally someone knew why it was on hold.

Royal Mail I emailed E Hobby Asia who I ordered from and asked if they put toy parts or the actual details on the declaration. They did list it as a Co2 mag along with the price etc. But, and I’am not sure if this is a problem, they choose ‘gift’ rather than sale of goods. I would have thought it they choose gift they shouldn’t have put down a value. Edited Monday at 19:28 by novioman Nick G 1

hitmanNo2 Posted Monday at 20:06 Posted Monday at 20:06 UPS can either be an absolute shit show or as smooth as anything. My last RIF with UPS sailed through from HK in a matter of days. I didn't have to fill in any stupid FPS declaration or answer any silly questions. Odd how there's such a variance in experiences with them.

Genuine gifts still have a value When crossing international boundaries there is a different threshold for taxes and duties on gifts The potential problem with the Chinese habit of marking as ‘gift’ is that it is a fraudulent customs declaration, and an obvious fraud However customs are used to it, they will just get to it when they get to it novioman 1

In short, there’s no such customs code as “CO2 magazine” - they might have put the item description as CO2 mag, but that’s largely irrelevant. Just because it’s listed as a gift, doesn’t mean it’s immune from customs charges, since we left the EU, everything is subject to customs charges. Even if it’s listed as a gift between two private individuals. Finally - border force have a massive backlog at the moment of about 2 weeks, so if it’s stopped for inspection or customs charges, it might take as long as two weeks. My last order sat at customs goods in for 2 weeks but was processed within 30 mins of being scanned in at customs.

I was more concerned that Border Force might think I and the seller were trying to avoid custom charges by declaring it as a gift, I would prefer they put down it was a purchase not a gift. Where did you find out about BF having a 2 week back log.

Wouldn't worry about that, there's probably 10000 packages a day coming in to the country where the declarations aren't correct. Been that way forever. Though everything I import personally I of course 1000% ensure the declaration is perfect and inscrutable in its' validity and precisely accurate on valuation to the 1/10th of a penny. If necessary I sneak in to the processing facilities with correctly printed forms like Sam Fisher, use a nano-laser cutter on the little adhesive transparent wallet, extract the dirty, lying paperwork, insert the beautiful correct paperwork then heat seal the plastic again using a micro glue that's invisible to the human eye or even indeed any scanning machines. I, on the other hand, love it when they lie about the contents and say it's a "car air freshener" and a £5 "gift" so i skip import tax. Ayooooo HZR13 1

rayan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I had two VFC stanags and a bolt carrier valued under £135 (including postage) get held up for 8 days waiting for customs clearance via Parcelforce in the last couple of weeks. Usually these make it through in a couple of days so it was a bit annoying. I do wonder if part of it is due to the RM/PF systems merge which might be slowing things down at the moment.
