ahtiq Posted yesterday at 15:09 Share Posted yesterday at 15:09 Hi, I am new here in the Uk and looking into a beginner rifle. I am torn between the two: Specna Arms Edge 2.0 with Gate Aster Mosfet or CYMA Platinum Daniel Defense MK19 RIII 10.3" AEG with Eshooter ETU or the CYMA CM068 with the tracer What would you recommend between the two out of the box? Or any other better?
BigStew Posted yesterday at 15:39 Share Posted yesterday at 15:39 Most airsoft guns performance is really not that different and unless you by a TM (even then they fail) there is not guarantee a gun will last years or fail out the box. Other than a few brand you should avoid, there really no such thing as a beginners AEG it's just a case of how much money you are willing to risk. I'd personally go with the cyma. Baser Posted yesterday at 15:46 Share Posted yesterday at 15:46 Have a couple of Cyma Platinum MP5’s which have a nice, snappy trigger, good range and rate of fire. One was bought second hand, run both on 11.1v LiPo without issue. Had one upgraded with a Gate Aster/brushless high speed motor (for snappier trigger) and longer barrel/hopup (for Accuracy and range) which improved it but not by a huge amount. can’t comment on their life as I’ve not had them for very long. Supporters Rogerborg Posted yesterday at 17:40 Supporters Share Posted yesterday at 17:40 Ahoy and welcome. "Best" in airsoft is a loaded question. Best for what? CQB? Woodland? Best effective range? Best reliability? Best semi auto trigger response? Best rate of fire? Best satisfaction per trigger pull (GBB or EBB)? Have you played at all? What did you like or not like about the guns that you've already used? All that said, you've listed decent choices, there's no reason not to get them. I have played three times with rental airsoft guns, but I don’t like them as they are not very accurate. I prefer playing at mid to long range (probably around 20 to 40 meters). It will most likely be an AR, which I prefer. I haven’t played CQB yet; we mostly played in woodland areas. Any suggestions to start with? I did some research, and it seems my choices are between the two, or possibly G&G.
StuartyAlec
My first OOTB AEG was the specna arms prime. Pre-upgraded and seems to want for nothing yet. Solid rifle and dont currently feel the need to change anything apart from cosmetics and function. So i can imagine the EDGE isn't too far apart. I think out of those choices you would end up being happy with either ahtiq

Out of interest, which G&G model caught your eye? I wouldn't avoid the brand though depending on the model you buy, can can get more out of your hard-earned. Have you looked at the Double Eagle M904/M906 series? The former looks like it's being phased out for the latter to replace it and it is much less expensive but the M904 was regarded was an AEG that gave (and still gives) really good value for money. Any idea where I can purchase the Prime? 25 minutes ago, Galvatron said: Out of interest, which G&G model caught your eye? Thank you. I will have a look into the double eagle. The G&G i have nothing in particular, it was the arnament I guess. I am just checking good ones or best out of the box as I am not looking to upgrade anytime apart from cosmetics

Due to the physics that allows airsoft to work airsoft guns are not accurate. Higher guns will (unless they are brand new will have had a hard life and shot more BBs in a 6 Month Period than a privately owned gun will in its life time). Good accuracy in airsoft is consistent centre mass hits at 50 to 60m. You can get more out and AEG but you are talking custom builds with lots of fine tuning and testing. EDcase
As said before, the options you have listed (or any in that price range) will be a good start and will perform about the same. Just get the one you like the look of most. ahtiq
