SMG - Hard Case Options?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any recommendations for a hard case suitable for an SMG?  It's for a S&T Sterling, with the internal dimensions of the retail box being 55cm x 24 cm x 12 cm.  I have plenty of rifle cases but having scoured the internet there are slim pickings for a smaller case, given most options are either suitable for a rifle (too big) or a pistol (too small).  It's clearly a niche market without spending a fortune on a bespoke case, noting the Sterling's size means I need a case at least 50cm in length.  The width can be a little larger as I was planning on storing the magazines in there as well.  Thanks.

Have you considered the Nuprol Premium Rifle (Medium) Hard Case?

I use one for my P90 regularly with room for batteries and mags. Eventually I'm going to invest in ShadowFoam inserts.

Don't laugh, temu have some pretty good looking cases:

Might be worth a punt ???

To be fair I saw a similar case on eBay, but slightly more expensive, so that's not a bad shout.  I fear the width is marginally too small, but to be fair the cases are very cheap, so not much of a loss if it's the wrong size.

Appreciate the recommendation.  Definitely an option to look into.

I also found this company as well:

Lots of choice, but slightly more pricey than other cases.  Plus some of the cases on Trifibre are also on Amazon, so I could save a few £:

Lots to think about...

Thanks for reminding me! I actually use the Trifibre TR5015 case for lugging my consumables after it was the travel case for my camera a few years back. It would do quite well for an SMG though you may have to position it diagonally to fit.

I'd prefer not to depress you with how much less I paid for it in 2016. 🤣

SRC makes a good quality one and it isn't expensive. They are available in black or tan.

I've seen them as low as £40 and as high as £80 (overpriced) over the last couple of years.

Unfortunately they appear to be sold out in most places.

Fortunately they are still available here, and at a fair price:

Those retailers with the term BBGuns in the title also tend to have them:

Great little boxes with a tough plastic with little to no flex. They are also useful for multiple pistol transportation. And other things too.
