BoneyT
Why are my Baofeng BF-888S radios not working with my push to talk headset anymore? They used to work fine, but one day they just stopped. I have 3 radios and 2 push to talk set ups and have tried various combinations of them all, the radios work perfectly with each other on their own, but when I connect the push to talk and headphones and press the talk button I can see the light coming on to say it's transmitting, however, the other person with the other radio doesn't hear a thing and I can't hear their response despite the light coming on to show that I am receiving!! Please help!! Thank you. 🙏
hitmanNo2
What PTT and headset are you using? I had this exact issue except with a UV-5R. Some random Chinese U94 and mic and downlead for my Comtac XPs. The setup worked fine for numerous weekend events and then one weekend I get the transmit light but no audio. No settings changed or anything, it was most odd. Sadly, my fix was to get a RS U94, mic and downlead. Rogerborg

The_Lord_Poncho
I usually find that its the wiring breaking down inside the cables associated with the cheap (ish) radio accessories that are to blame, rather than the radios themselves. Perhaps buy a cheap speaker mic, and see if that works to rule out the radios themselves (but it would be very unusual for three radios to have all failed simultaneously).
