Supporters Finius Posted June 26, 2011 Supporters Share Posted June 26, 2011 Can anyone who's got any ideas regarding what should be included in the VCRA/Law section please head over to my thread in that part of the forum (UK Law), and let me know what they think. Even if you don't know anything about it yourself, and you ask me to research it for you at the same time, it'd still be helpful! Thanks.
AF-UK Founding Member Deva Posted June 26, 2011 AF-UK Founding Member Share Posted June 26, 2011 Just to say I would like to see links to the rest of the forum in this guide. If you are explaining something and there is a forum section for it then please include a link to it so that the person knows where to go and ask questions. This is something which will have to look the same across all parts of the guide and fits in with the style being the same throughout. If anyone is covering the buying/sale of stuff then a link to the classifieds on here, how they work and also a link to the rules for them would be great. Tips for writing ads etc. A lot of things may seem very simple, but the amount of people who post up useless adverts and ask for large amounts of money is mind blowing. There are also a few decent guides already on here which are quite specific and won't fit into this generic guide, so could perhaps show up as "further reading". We also have quite a few useful sticky topics lying about the place so checking them all out would be wise. We also have the app which has been slightly forgotten about, but it would be a great link for those looking to work things out rather than you trying to explain the calculations to them you can just explain how to use the app (if you think that is required). We've been around getting on for 3 years, so the forum is a great resource of information, so please don't forget to use it.

Whilst I remember.. if you find any sticky topics which you believe will be completely replaced by the guide please let me know. If there are any sticky topics which you feel could be edited for better correctness then please also let me know. Many of them were written a while ago and not all have seen updates. Supporters Finius Posted June 26, 2011 Supporters Share Posted June 26, 2011 My guide to transporting RIF's that Matt stickied will be replaced, that said, I'd recommend stickying a thread with the whole Law section of this guide in the UK Law forum as a quick reference! Supporters M_P Posted June 26, 2011 Supporters Share Posted June 26, 2011 In the magazine section, we ought to have a mag maintenance guide. And maybe a whole section devoted to general gun cleaning and maintenance
Cerbo Knight
I think a general maintenance guide is definitely a good idea. However to make it a super one guide fits all type guide, maybe add specialist sections too? Takedown guides, tweaking, getting the best performance out of your guns type thing, I might have been getting the wrong idea about your super guide, but I still think it would be an improvement over the other guides that are out there

Takedown guides, tweaking, getting the best performance out of your guns type thing, I might have been getting the wrong idea about your super guide, but I still think it would be an improvement over the other guides that are out there The main point of guide is to help as many people as possible and its my way of giving back to you guys for your help. The way I see it is if we hit the nail on the head with the guide we will have loads more new people on the site and AF-UK will be much better known on the internet. I also have another Idea That I plan to follow up with if this guide is successful.

AF-UK Founding Member Deva Posted June 27, 2011 AF-UK Founding Member Share Posted June 27, 2011 That's up to you to discuss and decide really. I would have thought it could warrant its own section since there is probably a lot to say.
skillfulmmd
Sounds good to me making sure the list is in order and has as much as I cant think is taking a little while longer than planned but I guessed it better to get as much down properly instead of rushing into it, and if I miss something could we add stuff down the line? Supporters M_P Posted June 27, 2011 Supporters Share Posted June 27, 2011 yeah of course, It's better to take time preparing rather than rushing in to and getting things wrong
Airsofter123
I'd suggest moving section 1.3 before section 1.1 - might be a bit tricky to explain guns to buy etc. without having explained AEG, GBB etc. Personally, I think it's essential to give a lot of internal info. At the bare minimum an explanation of all the various parts inside an airsoft gun, but also (possibly to be added at another date), detailed, weapon specific maintenance, disassembly, upgrading etc. But it could probably be done as an add on, once the core is already up and running.
