Cr0-Magnon
Just procured one of these. So far seems a lovely bit of kit, there's something about handling a GBB which is far more satisfying than an AEG, even for the small amount of garden plinking I've done so far. Of course I'm still wondering how I'd go about skirmishing it, especially against the 75 per team you tend to get at TWA. Is anyone familiar with these and can advise of a few points? 1) Didn't come with sights, is there an optic of set of iron sights people would recommend? 2) I'm sure I'd work it out soon enough but don't like twisting random things, how do you adjust the hop? 3) It came with a Samoon 1 joule bolt/nozzle. Does anyone know what FPS that would take it to? (ie is it literally 1 joule?) 4) Any general do's & don't's? Think that's it for now...TIA! Wo1f
1) Iron sights are much the same to me. Optics you cant go wrong with Vortex if you're willing to pay the price. I love mine. 2) it's in a stupid location underneath base of the outer barrel. You either need to take the rail off or get a small screwdriver/ allen key to adjust it. 3)The one joule nozzle is more of a rough guide. With a standard barrel it should be 330fps gas depending on a .20. 4) Sell it and buy an mws XD

Unfortunately mine didn’t come with a 1 joule nozzle so I couldn’t field it in game yet, but I have spent some time shooting with it the last couple of weeks and I agree. The whole GBBR experience does it for me. There are loads of choices for iron sights and optics but it really depends on your play style and where you game. I have a T1 style red dot for CQB but rarely use it. My original goto sights were a Vision King short dot 1.5-5x. A fantastic sight for the price. It has an illuminated reticule but the sight is fully functional even when batteries die. However, my current favourite is a copy Elcan Specter sight. I got it from Dave’s Custom Airsoft. It wasn’t cheap but man it is very very good. And it is very intuitive to use. It’s either a 1x or a 4x and does away with the need for back up iron sights. One suggestion I’d make is to check your instruction manual and then the buffer. With mine you are able to remove the weight from inside the buffer. This makes it lighter and my GHK’s cold weather performance has improved no end. She’ll dump a mag in full auto with no issues now. (In fact I have put the GHK buffer and spring in my VFC 416a5 and the performance on that has improved too, but that’s another story;-)) One last thing I found was that the mags are tight. Real tight. Don’t panic as they loosen as they wear in. Oh and I have a mix of the version 1 and 2 GMags. If you can, go for the version 2. No difference in performance that I have found just the version 1 mags weigh a lot more. They feel like a loaded magazine where as the v2 mag feels like an unloaded mag. Enjoy the GHK. And welcome to the GBBR master race 😉 CBH
