IceRoad
So ive just purchased my first AEG, just a cheapy to start off with, a CYMA M4.513 RIS from patrol base, then i needed a side arm so got the CYMA .123 1911, then i decided i may need a back up sidearm so also got a ASG Challenger XP17, at this point the wife is on my case and giving me the look, so no more guns for a while. Hoping to make it to Holmbush Dogtag on 4/8/19 so may see some of you there. Will post some pics when i figure out how to do it
Whisky
Welcome. My missus has no idea just yet of what I've just spent. But I have just saved £80 p/m on the mortgage...

They sling BBs downrange 90% as well as any other toy gun, and for a lot less money. You can upgrade them if you feel so inclined: I'd start with the barrel, hop unit and rubber as a new unit (https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/), and leave the gearbox alone unless it gives you problems. 11 hours ago, IceRoad said: then i needed a side arm so got the CYMA .123 1911, then i decided i may need a back up sidearm so also got a ASG Challenger XP17 Two electropistols? Well, they work, and the CM.123 takes the CM.127 / CM.030 extended mags. But have you tried a GBB pistol? Hide them from your missus, it's worth it. IceRoad
Thanks for that website, i've actually been scrolling around the internet looking at hop up upgrades as it seems to be the ideal component to change out first.
Supporters Rogerborg Posted July 6, 2019 Supporters Share Posted July 6, 2019 ZCI rotary hop chamber (plastic is fine, go pot metal if you're feeling flush) https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/hop-up-chambers/zci-prowin-style-hopup-chamber-plastic-m4 Maple Leaf 50 degree bucking (cheaper solutions are available): https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/hop-up-buckings-nubs/maple-leaf-macaron-50-aeg And then a ZCI barrel to match the length of your existing one, or perhaps a little longer since you have that suppressor built in (although barrel length doesn't really do much on an AEG) https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/inner-barrels The joy of doing hop unit, rubber and barrel together is that you can put together a single unit that you can drop into your gun. If it all goes horribly wrong, you can simple swap your stop hop + barrel back in. On an M4 AEG, you can usually split the gun by removing just a single screw, it's literally just a couple of minutes to swap out everything in front of the gearbox, including finding an Allen key.
