I've seen a few mentioned but can't find the posts again, just looking for something like this that someone could recommend with regards to making the helm more comfortable etc. (obviously, what else for?)

Depends how much room there is inside. On my airframe I've got half a dozen thick pads like these: LINK and they're pretty comfy.
