My wonderful wife has offered me £200 (early birthday present and coz she is lovely) to buy a new gun and I'm looking to jump on the M4 bandwagon :) (still love and got my JG G36 but fancied a bit of a change so to speak)

I've narrowed my search/liking to the following -

G&G Combat Machine CM18 MOD1

ICS Sportline M4 SIR

CYMA CM.008

G&G Gc16 MODO 30th Anniversary Limited Edition

ASR115 Spyder EBB Full Metal

http://www.taiwangun.com/en/electric-air-soft-guns/asr115-spyder-ebb-full-metal-aps

Quite a choice I know and I need to consider I would like 2 Mid Cap mags and a lipo battery (or 2) as well with the 'wife gift' so I was wondering what are peoples opinions on my list? Is there anything I should consider instead of this lot? Any glaring issues with any of them? (I've not heard great things about ASR for example)

Thanks for any advice/help :)

personally out of all of those i'd get the GC16 as it's full metal and i've had a GC16, was brilliant but the ASR115 which a nice looking weapon as well had my eye on one a while back to maybe make into a P*.

I have had an older APS M4, the PR302, for a year and a half now. It has never ever caused me any problems.

In fact, I brought it with the intention of only using it until I decided what more expensive gun I wanted, but I haven't felt the need to change it yet. It shoots consistently around 340 FPS, has good range and good enough rate of fire. I don't feel out gunned during a game.

I have had the gear box apart to give it a service and apart from a ton of gunky grease which I cleaned out and replaced with a better quality one, all the components looked good. The wiring loom is sturdy and quite good quality and the motor runs nicely.

I was so impressed I brought my daughter a CQB version and recommended my mate to buy the APS Raptor which is an amazing performer. Hers had issues with the trigger being intermittent but I stripped it down and saw the solder had come loose from the trigger plate. Once re soldered it worked fine.

Mine and my daughters M4s are polymer bodies, my mates Raptor is metal and it looks really nice.

The one thing I did to both of them was to replace the EBB with a non EBB bolt as the springs kept snapping. Only cost a couple of quid to do.

The APS M4s have big mag wells and some people online moan about mags rattling but I haven't noticed it. I have had no feeding problems in either mine or my daughters guns. We have Airsoft Systems mags, PTS magpul E Mags and some ASG low caps. All feed flawlessly. The only ones that were a bit iffy were the supplied high caps.

So all in all, I would recommend APS rifles as a cheap option. They are never going to match the Marui quality but for the price they are great solid performers.

As a G&G fan....

3 options

GC16 30th as been said

CM18 nice sexy gun

Forget 300Bot - go for a FFR 2 as it comes with a 3 rnd burst MOSFET plus the newer type receiver don't have the vivid white CM in the side.

(Black only on these new receivers atm I think)

That is my take on G&G's CM's for around £150-155

I am very tempted by the g&GS and its interesting to hear the APS aren't as bad as I've read.

To add to the mix I've been told about specna arms guns as well but can't find a lot of reviews or info on them.

Any opinions on them??

My god... For some time there was this conversation, but let's go ...

Man I'm buying one of these models, PR302 polymer or ASR102 CQB fullmetal.
The CQB model to which you refer have presented your daughter, would that be?
I'm watching him for being full metal, but I saw many negative reviews about it, since the PR302 model even being in polymer saw only positive reviews, I thought the same way take the PR302 to decide which model highline would buy, but thought about buying the ASR102 thinking of making internal and external upgrades making an M16 with m120 spring, but this future.
What do you say, what it is more worthwhile?
I hope you're still alive. haha

Sorry for the delay in replying been away for work.

The one I brought my daughter is http://www.aps-concept.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_79_87&product_id=64

Imhave since brought myself a Krytac Warsport LVOA. My APS is now a back up gun. Still worth every penny I paid for it.
