ikarma70 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Hi guys, I have just acquired 6 lonex flash wind mags and all of them on winding, the string doesn't always retract on winding. Is it just a case of lubricating or something more serious? Atb Andy
Supporters Lozart Posted December 13, 2014 Supporters Posted December 13, 2014 Were they cheap and second hand?
Supporters Lozart Posted December 13, 2014 Supporters Posted December 13, 2014 I think you just found out why they were being sold... Is the string tangled or kinked? Monty 1
ikarma70 Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 Little curly but not tangled or kinked
Supporters Lozart Posted December 13, 2014 Supporters Posted December 13, 2014 Little curly but not tangled or kinked Does it go most of the way back in but not completely or will it not retract at all?
ikarma70 Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 It shoots back in after you fire a few off
Supporters Lozart Posted December 13, 2014 Supporters Posted December 13, 2014 Once it's wound, try giving it a quick pull then let go. The shock should make it retract. Sounds like the pawl that latches the winder wheel is getting stuck.
ikarma70 Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 So would a quick spray of silicon oil do the trick or is it a strip down job?
Supporters Lozart Posted December 13, 2014 Supporters Posted December 13, 2014 So would a quick spray of silicon oil do the trick or is it a strip down job? Worth a quick squirt into the mechanism but don't get it into the feed tube.
ikarma70 Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 Well a fast pull on the wire makes them work fine, give them a little squirt of lube. Thankyou very much mate, really appreciate your assistance!!! Lozart 1
Supporters Lozart Posted December 14, 2014 Supporters Posted December 14, 2014 No problem. I have an m4 flash mag and it can be a bit like that too. :-)
