ronnyjodes
So I've been using oversized goggles for a while as they fit over my prescription glasses. I've realised that after about half an hour I can get used to not wearing my glasses underneath my eye pro so I'm thinking of ditching my specs for games and going for something a bit more low profile. My only issue is that mesh screws with my vision a bit so it's out unfortunately. I also seem to see better with yellow/ oranges lenses (Christ knows why) so that's my only preference in terms of lense colour. I'm fancying something in this kind of style but these are from a Chinese ebay seller and other than them being labelled as"airsoft shooting glasses" it doesn't say if they'll actually stop anything other than a light breeze from hitting my eyes. What standard do they need to be? I've found some on Decathlon saying they conform to EN166 standard, is that sufficient? I don't want to be spending silly amounts of money and I'm happy to keep using my giant goggles if I can't find anything suitable in my price range. Supporters Lozart Posted December 11, 2013 Supporters Share Posted December 11, 2013 The yellow tint thing has been discussed at length on another thread (it's to do with increasing contrast) - you don't actually say what your budget is though. Bolle do some nice safety glasses for not a lot of money (do a search on Amazon).
Supporters M_P Posted December 11, 2013 Supporters Share Posted December 11, 2013 Go for something by ESS, their ICE series are good. You can also get prescription inserts that go behind the lenses too which is potentially something to consider.

Sorry, I meant to say. Ideally I'm looking at about 15 quid max but I'd stretch more for something a bit better quality. I've seen the ones with prescription inserts but they worked out about £70 for the cheapest I found when I factored in the cost of lenses. I'll be lucky to get 5 or 6 games in next year hence why I don't want to go too mad spending money if they're not going to get plenty of use. Supporters Lozart Posted December 11, 2013 Supporters Share Posted December 11, 2013 I have a pair of Bolle Trackers which were about £11. Work well, mist up a bit (I do sweat a LOT though) but with good anti fog cloth/liquid they're fine. There is a thread on here somewhere discussing the standard safety glasses EN ratings and what they mean, might be worth having a read before you end up with what are no more than sunglasses! That's not too bad price wise, I'll give them a look, cheers. Funny you should say that, I'd done a search for threads on here for balistic ratings for glasses and really couldn't find anything. As I say, I've seen one retailer saying they adhere to EN166 but that means sod all to me. I'll do a bit of digging to see if I can find whats what. It's just annoying that HK sites don't say what safety rating they comply to, probably because they don't have to. Eye pro is the only real area I'm not wanting to skip on in terms of quality lenses but like you've said with the Bolle glasses, they don't always have to cost an arm and a leg so I'd still like to get some as cheap as possible.
