carlsurrey
I am a completely virgin when it comes to airsoft but something I am really interested in getting into. I would be doing this on my own so would like to start somewhere which would cater for a newbie and be accomodating with advice etc. Would appreciate any advice or how to get going Thanks Carl
jay83
Hi Carl. My Team Surrey Viper Squad travel the south area. We are a group of guys that love airsoft and have fun doing it. Please add us up on facebook and if you ever see a date you feel like coming along with us feel free. We have been going to Battlelakes in kent last few times as we have an on going story line that we are finishing and winning ;-) , that site is epic for begginers as you can hire your gun mask and bb's to see if its something your enjoy, the staff are very nice too. Please hit us up on facebook or here if you would like any more info or help with anything or ever wana come along. springs
If your looking for places that do rentals then look at somewhere like UCAP. They have a few good sites around and do rentals. If not then if you are looking to join a team then they might be able to find a loan gun for you.
carlsurrey
Thanks Jay, will have a look on facebook. Really appreciate the fact that you are happy to help a newboy (well man as am 34) as I have heard some stories of places where if you are not one of the regulars you just get the piss taken! I dont want to spend a fair amount of cash if its something that I dont enjoy (unlikely I know) so hiring is really useful. Family commitments will mean this wont be until the new year but would be great to come along early 2014
Cheeky vimto
+1 for UCAP sites. I started there on rentals on my first airsoft outing and now I go every week i can. Be warned: this hobby is very addictive. You'll scour the internet for hours looking for deals and you'll spend loads on your gear while thinking of an excuse to tell the other half! Toughie
Another newbie here looking to get into airsoft. I have always wanted to start but never made the jump, not knowing anyone involved in airsoft doesn't help so would be also going along on my own. I live in Gravesend, Kent. Battlelakes isn't to far from me, Is that a great place for beginners? Thanks Matt
Cheeky vimto
Not sure about the sites in kent but I started on my own. Just go, what've you got to lose?
Toughie
Nothing to lose, just turning up somewhere not knowing what your doing with loads of people who do can be a bit daunting. I'm defiantly going to give it a go just wondering the best place for beginners.

Going to have a go early new year and will drop you a message if thats ok, going to try it a few times before I even consider getting my own equipment but have a feeling I may get the bug! Was looking at the Eversley site with Zed Adventures, I live near Esher in Surrey and know the Fleet/Yateley area really well as also do a lot of fishing, have you been to that site? Good place for a first outing? Cheers
jay83
ive not been mate not there, but im sure being a Zed Adventures place it will be good and the guys that run it will be nice ect. Were not going again till the new year now too as Xmas an everyone has familys and my mrs would kick my ass. were finishing this story line at the mo as were kicking ass. Try a few sites though because you might find you love CQB (READING MALL) hate woodland or something else. Sure your love it then your spend hours on Ebay and Aliexpress looking at pointless atatchments for your gun instead thinking what should i get the mrs for xmas. Have good one mate

Supporters NickM Posted December 10, 2013 Supporters Share Posted December 10, 2013 Another newbie here looking to get into airsoft. Battlelakes isn't to far from me, Is that a great place for beginners? Thanks Matt I go over to Gravesend as my mrs works there month on month off. Check out UCAP Sandpit, its the huge quarry on the left when you take the slip road onto the A2 from Bluewater, it can look a little intimidating but they are a great bunch of guys, most people wont take the mick with a noob, well any different from any of us anyway. If you do something dumb expect a chorus of laughing first then probably a concerned hand. But that's pretty much common anywhere. Most airsofters are happy to talk you to death about their choice of kit especially guns, hence being a friendly bunch if you see something Gucci you like ask the owner about it, if you do that about my kit I'm normally very happy to give people a go, that includes the BFG ( a reusable grenade) from time to time. Moose87
yer most people that run the sites are very friendly as obviously they want new customers and the main advertisement is word of mouth. i have only so far met a couple of dicks and they were from essex but thats a very small minority. Toughie
Just took a look at UCAP sandpit on youtube looks great fun and is a huge site! Its only a 10minute drive for me so that might be the first place i try. Does anyone know of any CQB sites down this way also, Thought it might be a better way to get stuck in and involved. Thanks for all your replys.
