Which Airsoft Gun Should I Purchase

In short no, you can be gifted an IF , gain a defence then repaint it if your under 18

I am under 18, is there any way i can purchase RIF's, i.e. through UKARA which i cant because of the Age limit, but still is there (in a legal way)?

So as much as makes no difference £400 on just magazines just to make it skirmishable ?

yes and no, I rock mine with 5 mags, it's weird because if I went out with only 200 BBs for my 416 I'd be empty within 20 mins. I suppose I change my playstyle when using it but I've never felt like I'm light on ammo even with only 200 shots. Saying that though, the 4 extra mags I have set me back £115 and I am looking to buy a couple more mags so I can be a bit more rambo and use full auto more often!

 

Definitely not a 'starter' gun, as with almost any TM it's serious investment.

Put simply, no. You cannot legally buy a RIF or an IF until you're 18. You can however have your parents (or anyone over 18 really) buy you an IF then when you have a skirmisher's defence (not necessarily UKARA, a skirmish log is in theory enough) you'll be able to make it into a RIF legally.

or get your dad or older brother hooked so you can use one of their guns when you play together.

 

I regularly see dads taking their sons to Airsoft and they buy them a gun which is the adults on paper only and they let their offspring use it at the site.

One dad takes his two sons, both under 18 and they have four or five black guns between them.

 

Taking it one stage further, many sites allow over 14s to play unaccompanied providing you are signed in and out by an adult. What happens if that adult gives the youngster his gun to play with when he signs him in and then takes it back from him when he collects and signs him out ?

 

The adult will need a UKARA defence to buy the gun, so does that mean that the adult will need to participate until he gets the defence i.e. three visits over about. 5-6 weeks and then he only provides a taxi service ?

 

To my mind, the rules are there to stop immature people running around the streets with a RIF for obvious reasons. Providing the dad acts responsibly with the gun outside the Airsoft site i.e. doesn't let his offspring play outside with the RIF, then the objective is achieved.

 

A two tone in the wrong hands can be just as deadly as a RIF.

go back, re read the conditions for being put on the UKARA database and then when you actually understand all of it come back and dish out advice.

 

Seriously, there are so many threads on so many forums that tell you exactly what needs to be done and yet somehow you end up with people dishing out gash info like this?!

 

3 games in NOT LESS than 2 months, so 5-6 weeks is completely unachievable, last time I checked 2 months was 8 weeks.

bit harsh. Sorry my maths are at fault and I was typing quickly.

Of course I meant to say 9-10 weeks as its has to be over two months.

Oh and Im not dishing out advice at all, I'm discussing.

 

I will leave the more experienced with many more posts to dish out the advice.
