StormAX
So my Two Tone Smokey version of the King Arms M4 is coming tomorrow in the mail and it seems to have a red flash hider on it as standard. Would it still comply with UKARA and UK law if i heated up the glue around the red flash hider and unscrewed it? as the gun itself is still 50%+ two toned. thanks
Supporters TPI Posted June 3, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 3, 2013 it should be 51%
DreamWeaver
I guess it would depend on if the red flash hider was contributing towards the two tone?
StormAX
TPI i said 50+ , Airsoft World wouldnt sell me the gun if it wasnt over 50% . also, the red tip is not part of the two tone. here is a picture of the gun http://www.pyramidairsoft.com/productimages/large/Colt-King-Arms-M4A1-AEG-Smoky-Version_180997.jpg
Supporters TPI Posted June 3, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 3, 2013 it's 51% and no less... I'm not too sure if AW Are Taking the Piss but i wouldn't class Smoke Grey as TT unless it's Neon Smoke Grey... But the part's make it eligible for 51% Without the Orange FH (Keep it useable though and on during Transport. Never know Armed response may have a twitchy finger in your area)
DreamWeaver
No have to agree that doesn't look in any way two tone, slight bending of the rules going on surely?
StormAX
Well maybe, but according to Airsoft World here: http://www.airsoftworld.net/king-arms-colt-m4-carbine-value-pack-transparent-two-tone.html It is indeed legal for new players without a UKARA. So i guess it is bending the rules slightly.
Supporters TPI Posted June 3, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 3, 2013 well it'll be them that get's shafted not you so don't worry, Removing the FH is fine though
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted June 5, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 5, 2013 I'm not sure removing the flash hider is fine. Translucent plastic is pretty unrealistic, but when it's only the parts which would be plastic on a real steel version, maybe that hideous looking tip is necessary to make it obviously a toy. Nickona
The orange flash hider would be there for a reason.. especially if its glued on. By all means remove it for games but put it back on for the rest of the time
ScoobySnacks
Under the law, there are specific colours (and translucent plastic is one of the allowed "colours") that can be used to colour 51% of the gun, to make it an IF rather than a RIF. There is no provision for the use of multiple colours, so unless the main colour is the same as the flash hider it makes no difference to whether the gun is a RIF or an IF. Also it has to be in solid blocks, so tiger striping, or any type of camo, does not make a gun an IF.
Sam_G
Lets be realistic gents. If it were your gun you would change it. Just keep it in your kit bag. but who is going to stop you and say..........................that IF is only 50.999999999% 2 tone....your nicked! Supporters TPI Posted June 6, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 6, 2013 I would just for the LulZ!
SheriffHD
The tip is fo shipping purpose. As for the plastic it is legal. although the plastic used for transparent bodies are of a lower quality that the rifles that use a tougher type for the overall price range. so It would be better to just buy the version with the standard two tone so you dont have to worry about it falling apart sooner.
