Some of you may have seen my new members post stating I was looking for a gun etc. I couldnt find any g3 rifles, fals and galils are too expensive so I began to look at mp5s....i like the navy style stock that slides in and out. A friend of a friend happens to be selling what looks like am src mp5 with the full stock non retract or foldable. He only wants 100 pounds for gun and charger. It does need a new battery but il pick one up.

Can I buy one of the stocks I like and fit it on? I really am not a fan of the fixed butt and not wanting to spend loads the retractable one gives my gun more useage and a wider application

Also, as for a battery what should I be lookimg for? Iv been told some guys use the same batteries as remote control cars?

I was also wondering what gear il need to skirmish, full mask? Goggles? Is there a uniform? Can I wear what ever camo I please?

Thanks in advance

hey mate welcome to the forums

right firstly the mp5 is short enough even with the full stock to be used as both cqb and a woodland rifle but if you realy want the sliding stock then im sure it would be possible to buy one and fit it ( dont hold me to this as i have never had an mp5)

as for what you will need well its basicly upto you after the basic's like decent eye protection if your over 16 you wont need to wear full face protection but if your playing cqb i would recomend it.

theres a huge selection of eye protection out there from mesh to ballistic shooting glasses just remember you only get one set of eyes.

as for camo/loadout its 100% your choice hell you dont even have to dress tacticool you cld dress like a chav if thats the look you wanna go for.

as for batterys have a look here http://www.component-shop.co.uk/html/airsoft_etc_.html i ordered mine from here and got 2 batts and a charger for the same price one battery would have cost me off a larger airsoft shop.

hope this helps.

You can fit a sliding stock to a fixed stock, all you have to do is remove 1 pin and swap the stocks ;)

However the battery is housed in the full stock, so you will have to figure out how to move the battery to the front handguard, which will only fit mini batteries, where as the stock will take the large types. Although if your using lipo batteries the available space doesn't matter.

Thanks very much for replies. As for the protection comment wer all over 16, im almost 20 but I already have visual snow disorder so much visions pretty wierd anyway :P il either get moto x goggles or a full mask as I dont want to end up blind.

Camo etc il probably get some snow/urban digital stuff cos iv wanted an excuse to wear it haha.

Good news on the stock front. The only thing will be relocation as you said. Il have a look and see how easy it will be. If its gunna be a total pain il just get a new gun with the retracting stock as the ics one is only 141 posted. Iv also seen reviews amd havnt heard bad about it!

Well I have used my Oakley Snowboard goggles (Pratty much the same as MX goggles) And they have taken entire mags from my GBB at 1ft, so they work well. cant comment on cheaper goggles only the oakleys.

But in all honesty, Id say buy a pair fo ballistic glasses, All that running about the glasses just sit nicer and are more comfortable than goggles.

Alright sick thanks. I do have oakley mx ones but il see.

Im based in huntly outside of aberdeenshire, few places near.

spoke to a friend amd hes going to gift me a gun. He no longer uses it and he said if I build his bike wheels hel gift me his mp5. From what I see its an ics or src mp5. It has an upgraded gearbox, spare box, full stock amd sorta extendable m4a1 style stocka.

All I need to buy is a fire mode selector and a rear sight. Where can I find a rear sight? I also need one of the navy style thin retractable stocks if anyone would be willing to swap or sell?

where are you thinking of going?

WildWoodz is close to Inverness but is a Majority Paintball Place

Highland Tactical are purely airsoft but have an extremely low turnout for team's but plenty of space

and then their's CQB Scotland :-)

Haha thanks man, yeah thats annoying as sh*t. It does have a safety...IE an on off button but its jammed on full auto, so im loathed to pay 12 quid for a selector but i gotta do it. Are they simple to fit?
