Cam-the-airsoft-sniper
Hi, As some of you may know, I have not been airsofting in a long time, now I think I have found the problem, I have no guns or kit I am happy with, I have a M4 that was my first gun and a AK-47, I just dont know what to do! Non of them are worth any money really and no one would want to buy them. I am desperate to get back into airsofting but I just dont feel happy with my shooters so it kinda puts a downer on the day as I am not happy while playing. So any Advice? bigshep
You have a GnG m4/16 and a cyma ak47? Both are perfectly skirmishable guns, so whats the problem apart from you don't like them and want something new and shiny?

They may be but: The M4 is only firing around 290 FPS and has had a massive range drop and the CYMA just feels cheap and the stock is broken, I have no money for reapirs or parts. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted April 20, 2012 Supporters Share Posted April 20, 2012 Bodge job for the win! Break them open, get some tape and plasticine in there and seal up those spots where air can leak, get in the hop with a biro, try adding some spacers to the back of the piston to compress the spring a bit more, I don't know, go crazy! Then marval at your magnificent creation. 99 times out of 100 the psychology of the tinkering process alone will make you at least THINK and FEEL like you gun is better, plus it's fun, it adds a new side to it, the side of awesome experimentation. If your guns aren't worth anything then screwing them up by doing something insanely mad won't matter AS much, so what have you got to lose?! The worst that can happen is that your worthless guns become worthless for a reason lol.
bigshep
Ok so the m4 probably has an airseal issue that needs looking at, but a broken stock on a cyma ak (assuming its a cmo28 plastic bodied version) is an easy fix. Gaffer tape it up, its an AK, who cares what it looks like. So what if its a palastic bodied cyma, they are still great guns for the money and are better than guns costing twice as much in some cases. Get it taped, get to a game and remember what airsoft is about. Running around the woods shooting plastic pellets at people and having a laugh. Its the folding stock version, and I understand thelast point but I dont have fun anymore. Also the ROF is preety crappy. Its just I want everything to be right for me. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted April 20, 2012 Supporters Share Posted April 20, 2012 I went through the same phase with my first gun, which was a WE M16 GBBR and although it was MEGA awesome, it was even more mega sh*t. It just took me too long to see through the awesomeness. One day, I went and ran out of gas, so I used a hire gun which was an ICS sportsline M4 and even to this day I've not had as much fun since, I think it's a bit like when you steal someone's chips at school, they're always better than yours. I think it's natural to find faults in your own kit, then you'll just feel like you need more stuff. I have a list from here to the sun and back again of all the stuff I want. The point is. Wanting is better than having. So make do with what you've got, find a way to make it work. Make some money and get it sorted, make it into a mission or a personal goal, then once it's up and running to the state you want it to be at, you'll feel a greater appreciation of it and not fall victim to airsoft depression as quickly again. Hubert
Awesome stuff of awesomeness I think that was possibly one of the best posts I've ever seen on an airsoft. The grass will always appear greener on the other side. I know. I ruined my LSW with unnecessary 'upgrades' which have rendered it a useless heap of metal, which is too expensive for me to restore to its former glory at the moment. One of the best rifles I've ever used was F&O Heywood's rental G36C after my AA-R85A1 exploded on my first game there, 3 years ago. It seems weird, but I've genuinely never used anything as awesome since. Despite the fact it was a 2 year old CA G36, which was well beyond it's best days, battered and knackered, covered in mud and with a bent front sight. You'll always think your stuff isn't as good as other people's. Your M4 might actually have a problem - but your AK? One of my & Dave's teammates has been using a stockeless, barrel-less G36/M4 hybrid for half a year now. It looks... 'unique', but it works (somehow). bigshep
Broken folding stock, take it off, they are crap anyway Low ROF, no idea what you are talking about there, my Cyma AK has a great rof on a 9.6 and will fire all day long. No it is no ROF monster, but then who needs one unless they have the reactions of Marvels "the Flash" Still more than fast enough to hose down some enemy players, and did not require hundreds spent on it and it being fettled to death to get that extra 1bbps out of it. Don't let geardo's get you down, use what you have and play the way you want to play. Let the geardo's have their own little knob measuring contest and play in tracksuit and have a laugh at them. If you 'aint happy then give it a break, sort yourself out and have a go again in a few months. No point playing if you are going to have a bad time
Hubert
Hubert, your quotingness has confused me muchly. Your post just before mine. I cut it out, just because I didn't want to make a post of my own which took up so much space because of a massive quote. Stocks are over-rated anyway mate. Unless you need to for your battery... Smitho1990
Rent guns at sites! Some of my friends have their own guns, some rent. I only have an SRC Gen3 M4A1 which is by no means very good to other manufacturers. Chrono'd it at 340 FPS and my friends using the club rental guns have just as much fun as I do.
