VFC M249 Thread

It's not a bad idea to fit one . You can just turn the pressure down on the regulator , but I find with mine the NPAS is a better solution.

Yeah I fitted a standard VFC NPAS before I took it out last month, great bit of fun!

Every few shots I had one BB dropping to the floor in front of me with every other shot being fine so I've done the o-ring and maple lead bucking upgrade. Hoping it's solved the issue of over chambering

Just sharing this here for prosperity; Bullgear make the best boxmag for the 249 I have found so far - by a long way. We initially followed Frog's AEG boxmag conversion (microswitch in the trigger) and it works really well, but on a 24hr milsim the MAG AEG boxmag died and were held together by ducktape and tie-wraps by the end. On our team's 2nd 249 we had this boxmag and it was flawless (and didn't need any conversions) https://bullgear.net/vfc-m249-gbb-kit-boxmag-m249

I am not sure how this is going to make you wealthier.

Hi guys, so i wanted to do the aeg box mag conversion for my vfc m249. I just bought the A and K 1500 box mag and ofc it doesnt fit in to my magwell. Do i just have to trim down the sides with a dremrel? and after it fits it will work?. I already have the conversion kit from airtac. Thanks

A mate did just that , dremmeled the mag untill it fitted . My kit came with an AEG box mag adapter that clips into the mag mount so I jusy use that . Although I have the full kit I have never run the box mag , I just fit an old U/S one for the look as I prefer the stick mags and mag changes . No idea if the sound operation works or not , no reason why not I guess.

Ran mine today , I always forget how much fun they are Lol. Lots of good kills with it . The JP heavy recoil weight certainly gives it more kick.

Sorry to res a bit of an old thread but it seems to be a great source of knowledge for the 249.

I've just bought mine, put in the HPA conversion V2 from AirTac, an A&K Sound wound box mag which feeds perfectly, and so far performance has been pretty good.

I did try to fit a 430mm Mapleleaf crazy jet barrel with a 4uantum gbb bucking but the mapleleaf barrel just wouldn't sit comfortably and the hop unit refuses to close properly (which is a git to get out anyway!) so putting it back was just a no go. Any tips appreciated there!

Also, has anyone improved the nozzle seal - that O-Ring basically is zero resistence - and the return spring sucks its so weak. I've replaced the spring plug with a Waldo Designs replacement which is a nicer little mod that has a 0.5mm allen screw instead of a raul pin. Handy.

I've also installed a Jaeger recoil weight - went in easy and added some solid recoil weight - very novel! I can't get that open again now though lol it's solid at least!

Any tips on any of the above - please shout me!

Thanks 249'ers!

Fitted a Crazy jet and M/L rubber to mine and a mate's . Took a bit of fiddling and adjusting , but all went back together fine . Pinched up the C clip that comes with the rubber a bit to improve the seal.

Is that the M/L Wonder bucking by any chance?

For whatever reason the hop unit just wouldn't go back together neatly - i even got to the point where the dremel came out to give the hop screw a bit more room because that's what looked like was happening - in hindsight i think it might be the barrel cuts are not quite the same as the original barrel.

Thanks for replying though good to know it's at least possible!

Would have been an autobot rubber most likely , that's my usual go to .
