      as with all things it's a balance.

       

      good hardware allows you to leverage skill, it means all that effort getting into the right position, having a good aim etc isn't wasted because the gun doesn't shoot where you point it.

       

      i do agree with his point that you don't need to be spending megabucks on hardware to get a passable level of performance, a cyma with a few key tweaks will do 80% of the job.

      I absolutely agree but his main point is that a lot of noobs think the reason they're not hitting things is the gun when 90% of the time it's their lack of skill/awareness.

      true, but it works both ways, you give a skilled player a nerf gun they might still be able to get kills, but nowhere near as many as they could if they had decent hardware. going exclusively down either route can only ever take you so far.

       

      this is ofc if we're taking "skill" as excluding teching skill, as the basic knowledge of say not buying off-brand .12's for playing outdoors could also be regarded as part of skill and experience same as psychology, sneakiness etc.
