  1. Need a little advice, I really like the SCAR-H but not sure which brand is better.

TM seems the obvious choice, should I be looking at something else? Is it advisable to buy 2nd hand to save a bit or should I rather buy new?

After several games in the tunnels and dark I bought a couple of Nuprol tracer units (aaa battery operated); passable for occasional use. I did splash out on olight Sigurd wml cos they double as a grip too.

iirc they don’t like lasers or strobes at the bunker.

Yeah, they said OK to red lasers when we were there on Wed last week if I remember correctly but most sites don't allow them at all.

I'll stick with the Feyachi light, fitted it to my RIF and glued the switch pad to the front grip so I can operate it with my thumb. Seems to work pretty well so far but haven't tested it irl yet

Cool, I have one of those and they're decent. It's a PTS EPS (Enhanced Polymer Stock). You'll want a bog standard AEG tube for that: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/big-dragon-receiver-extension-m4-buffer-tube Sling plate wise, this might work https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/metal-asap-sling-plate-for-aeg-m4 depends if/how you want to attach a sling.

If you literally just want a plate to cover the hole https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/jg-m4-aeg-stock-plate

This is a great help, thank you.

I'm going to look around for a sling plate that is a more accurate fit, hopefully I can find one.

There's plenty of "compatible" parts online, the main issue you'll have is that all the sling plates you'll find are aimed at a more standard style of upper receiver instead of the blocky design of your Specna. Other than that, literally any AEG buffer tube should fit and then the world is your oyster for stocks.

Note that PTS is a brand, not a type of stock. Pictures would help here.

Ah, you make a good point. My inexperience shining through there

This is the style of stock I am wanting to use

Looks like a fairly standard receiver extension from this disassembly video:

    image.png.86e1cc9d7becbd124791fd4887b64399.png

You will need a Buffer tube and sling plate. The buffer tube, obviously, to mount your stock. The sling plate to cover the big hole that the wires are sticking out of.

If you can find Specna Edge denoted spares - great, should be a drop-in fit.

Other brands will likely fit fine, but airsoft 'tolerances' being as they are (i.e lacking thereof), you might find yourself either filing the inside of the buffer tube if too tight on the extension anti-rotation fins, or shimming with bits of a coke can if too loose. I have experienced both.

It seems these SA original parts are quite difficult to find online unless my Google skills are not as good as I thought they were.

I assume the PTS stock can be just about any brand but the tube and sling plate should preferably be SA.

I use a Blaster on AEGs and a Brighter C on my pistol.

I tend to use a WML 400 replica for the torch on the AEG.

Thanks, that little Brighter C looks like a really nice option for pistols

The NGAL does laser and torch. the Blaster tracer is very good. the guys at Combat South are down in Portsmouth so if you get the chance pop in and try them out before buying.

Thank you, I have dealt with Combat South a few times in the past and have always been happy with them. A great bunch of guys.

I have ordered the Blaster, just not too sure about the Ngal and what switches to get for my use case.

  8. Myself and my kids played at UCAP Bunker on Wed last week and thoroughly enjoyed it however the lack of having lights and tracers made it very difficult.

What are considered good lights and tracers for CQB?

I've looked at the Feyachi FL17 light which looks quite good and is well priced.

Also, the Acetech Bifrost and Blaster units looks quite good.

What would be other brands/models worth looking at?

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Apologies for resurecting this thread.

I have a KWA Eve-9 with Gate Titan installed, I need to pull the gearbox apart to clean some dirt from the Titan sensors and would like to install a few upgrades while I'm about it.

From reading this thread I gather the following upgrades are best.

SHS motor (high speed or high torque?)

    XT piston head

    Madbull Piston

Anything else worth doing? I do not mind spending a bit of cash on getting it running nicely.

The going rate is typically 60-70% of current retail prices for the gun and the will probably retain a similar percentage.

By "good condition", are they any scuffs, scratches or other cosmetic issues worth noting?

Thank you, no noticeable scuffs or marks at all.

  11. I have a fairly new, good condition KWA that I am considering selling.

Has 5x standard original KWA 120 rounds mags as well as a 400 round KWA high capa. Also comes with Gate Titan V2 Bluetooth installed.

Box and all accessories as well.

Any thoughts on what I can ask for it?

A good charger will do that the IMAX b6 type and it's clones for example. They aren't expensive about 35 quid.

I have an Overlander VSR Mini, will that do?

Maybe Socom Tactical or Surplus Store?

(Also a bit of dirt or grease on the sector gear optical sensors can throw them out)

Thanks, I'm going to pull it apart this weekend and take a look.

The Titan also started doing something weird recently, I cannot set the Auto selector to Burst so maybe it does all just need a good clean inside.

I test all the batteries I buy and return the crap ones.

I don't worry about capacity if the IR is low. Give and take...

That is very handy if you have the knowledge and testing equipment but not so easy for the average Joe.

Other than the plug and it fitting, there's no Airsoft battery as such.

You can imagine that batteries, even small ones that supply more than a hundred amps regularly need to be 'better' than a battery putting out 40.

I use Amazon batteries and some nano techs and whilst youd notice it on a drone in a gun you don't.

I'll charge all mine up, leave them a day and see what the rof is and put a new post up. Maybe I'll have my super dooper lion battery made by then.

I guess for me it's about getting what I paid for and not some bad quality battery that doesn't deliver what's written on the packaging. I know this is probably a bad example but I would never use the cheap batteries that come with electronic goods. I always replace them with Duracell or Energizer because I know the qualify is good and the battery is reliable.

  16. I’m looking for a sight for my SA-X02, I currently have a Feyachi RDS-25 on my KWA but looking for holographic for this one.

Budget is around 60 Quid, prepared to go up a little if it’s good.

Any advice, personal experience with something good at a reasonable price?

Although with the caveat that anyone can claim anything, and very rarely have it tested.

Hmm, I might suggest airsoft batteries to to ProjectFarm... 🤔

One of the reasons I’ve chosen Turnigy as my preferred battery, they seem to get very good reviews and when tested are close to stated specs

The volumes of the cells do vary at similar capacities, more volume can give you more capacity and/or more current ability.

Worth bearing in mind that drawing more current will reduce the capacity of the cell.

By which I mean less current will give you more mAh.

In Airsoft you don't usually need high C, low internal resistance batteries.

Thanks, I have a mild understanding of the C rating. I have a few 20/40C 1000 mAh batteries and have ordered a 15/25C 1200 mAh to check physical size in my RIF.

  19. My first was a KWA Eve-9, I chucked a Gate Titan BT in it, apart from that it's stock. Very happy with it.

Recently I bought a Specna Arms Edge 2.0 SA-X02 which I also really like.

Both really good guns at what I consider fair prices.

The KWA has a v2.5 gearbox specific to the gun so upgrading the gearbox with an Eon from Gate or similar cannot be done (as far as I know).

What voltage batteries are you using at the moment? If you're using 7.4v at the moment then stepping up to 11.1v may cause over spin.

8f you're already using 11.1v batteries then I can't see why you shouldn't use that battery

Thanks, I am using 11.1v already so should be good.

The low capacity just means you'll need more of them, the nanotech batteries are pretty good I have found.

Is that the largest battery you can fit? You can refine the search for hobby king batteries using dimensions... you may already be aware.

    https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-nano-tech-1200mah-3s-15-25c-lipo-airsoft-pack-t-connector.html

I looked at those but they may be a bit thick for the Double Eagles. I'll purchase 1 and check but I know for sure the 1000mAh will fit and should last 3 or 4 30 minute sessions the way we play.
