My first AR platform is my take on a KS-1, using an EMG/Ares SR-16E Mod 2. Yes, the optics are wrong, but I don't have the Β£6K needed for an actual Vortex AMG and there's no replicas out there yet. The colours are also off, but give it a few years and all the issued KS-1s will all look like this π. All told, I'm happy with it, despite the dramas I had getting the base RIF. I hope it performs well enough. @PopRocket123 I said I would win you over with my next project. So am I getting better? π₯Ί

Cyberpunk-inspired Arasaka Security Division loadout. Got my first proper run with it yesterday. It was well received, especially by fans of the game.
-
Challenge accepted. I'll win you over with my next project, I'm sure. π
-
The RIF itself and the LED torch unit in the front grip cavity. The PEQ has the battery pack for the electroluminescent wiring. π What? You don't think a gas 6-shot shotgun is an elegant solution for the minimum engagement distance? It's quicker than drawing a sidearm, has a better hit probability and sounds awesome. What's not to like? (Other than it contributes to the 6.6kg overall weight, making it somewhat front heavy π)

Hot off the back of my ghillie stuff, here's something completely different: The Arasaka JKE-X3 Akaoni Carbine Prototype. It's loosely based on the JKE-X2 Kenshin from Cyberpunk 2077 and was built to compliment my 'Cyber Ninja' loadout I've been using recently. Definitely not to everyone's taste, but it might float a boat or two. It features: Sound-activated electroluminescent wiring, multi-coloured LEDs in the grip, a sound+IR activated round counter, a muzzle flash tracer and few other nice touches. All-in, 6 different power sources π. Built on the SSE18 platform.

Finally got around to picking up the handguard extension for my SCAR-H DMR. After all the pain of fitting it, I'm not sure I prefer it over the shorter version I was rocking, simply for where the grip and Masterkey now sit (which are a bit too far forward). It's ironic because it was the PR I wanted originally but I couldn't find one at a decent price. Still, it gave me a chance to redress the cam on the rifle and take some shots along the way. Feeling much better now. π

New pew today π. Since using my lad's SSE18, I've wanted one for my ghillie rig, but I've decided to dual-purpose it for my cyberpunk CQB setup. The massive holo is a placeholder until my low-profile (red) red dot arrives, but I'm starting to get attached to it, whilst tactically sweeping my house over and over. The amplifier was primarily cosmetic but it definitely makes the pistol sound less anaemic. Also missing is a red flared mag well, as it was out of stock. She's ugly, but that's kind of the point. π Once it's complete, the real project begins: Integral torch, using the foregrip cavity, and LED lighting in the rear carbine cavity... all for the cyberiness. π
-
It's almost like my subconscious has seen that before and drove me to replicate the shape. π I love it. What is it?
-
'Cyber Ninja' loadout complete and tested π. It got a bit warm, but folks seemed to enjoy it. I'm glad to report the extra Heroshark eye pro wasn't needed as the mask held up to some intense CQB action. I'm still not gambling, but it was surprising it didn't shatter.
-
Finally got inspired to remove the magazine cover from my Secutor Velites GII M870. Turns out it was really easy and just needed a squeeze to unhook - not the strip-down I imagined. This has allowed me to repurpose an electric drum magazine I had on an old springer. It's a stocky little thing now but should get a lot more use, as I won't need to reload every 5 shots. π
-
(Re-posted as I put it in the wrong place previously) WIP experiment in 'cyber ninja' loadout. Pretty sure the mask won't hold up to a heavy hit, so I've got eye pro underneath (and replacement panels are dirt cheap). Got some tabi boots on the way and I'll probably use the swords from my Deadpool set-up to finish the look. Emphasis is purely on mobility. It's refreshingly lightweight and agile, and should bring a few smiles.π

Lightweight/Smaller guns under Β£200?
Sifu Steve replied to mallomiu's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Sorry... I posted this in the wrong thread. What an amateur. -
Budget leaf suit, aka Kicking Donkey Concealment System. Just about ready for field (forest) testing. I think if I'm going to stick with the autumn leaves, I need to cluster them better though.

Yeah, it'll be a red dot, micro if necessary. I have the stock removed on my G36 permanently and it really works for CQB. Conversely, I have a fixed stock on my AK which seems more comfortable in woodland and at range. After having a blast with my lad's UMP, I found myself switching the stock up on the fly quite a lot, so I'd like to keep that functionality in the Bizon. Cutting down the rear sight (not foresight, as I keep saying) rail is definitely looking like the best option unless there's a side rail mount that has enough clearance over the upper receiver so it can be detached to collapse the stock and still fit once it's folded up.
-
I'd really like this variant but the up-and-over folding stock isn't going to suit the standard side-mount AK rails. I've considered replacing the foresight with a rail but it looks like the rearward overhang might also interfere. So, has anyone found a solution that doesn't involve quick-release mounts? Here's a link to a video review. You can see the stock collapse at about 0:58. I've also attached a pic of the foresight rail in case anyone's seen something similar but shorter or more forward-extended.

Has anyone bought from Tiger111hk before?
Sifu Steve replied to Sifu Steve's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Thanks guys. An overwhelmingly positive set of responses. Like others, they seem to be the only place stocking what I'm after, a PPS Bizon-3. Now I know I'm safe to buy from them, I'll go pose the next question in another thread... -
I've used a few HK-based retailers and always had a great experience, often even avoiding import duty. But this site has something I'd really like and I was wondering if anyone had traded with them before and could give an appraisal. Cheers.

WE/Cybergun Desert Eagle slide/frame/mag compatibility
Sifu Steve replied to Sifu Steve's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Cheers guys. I popped this up and totally forgot about it. I'm still none the wiser, it seems. @Tackle The drilling out of rails was really something I wanted to avoid but in lieu of an alternative solution, it's looking necessary (the holsters can't be remoulded, sadly). In answer to your question though, they work absolutely fine. @Daveoc33 Cheers for the insight. If I read it right, it would seem to suggest the only metal frames out there are for the WE and the only full auto slides are for KWC. As the mags aren't cross-compatible, I'm likely at a dead end... @Cr0-Magnon Not at all. I have bright coloured toy guns for anything in public. Organised conventions etc usually have some form of police presence that will look over any props for RIFs and either ban them, insist on a bright muzzle tip/shroud or give dispensation for a photo area only. -
Evening all. I'm hoping someone with experience of both versions of this gun can tell me the feasibility of my plan. Heads up, it's a bit niche. π What I want: The full auto (metal slide) version, with a metal frame, with no under rail, that takes the full auto CO2 mags. The problems I have: I have 2 full auto versions with 10 mags. They have metal slides and plastic bodies, with a riveted under rail. I ordered two metal bodies which never came. What did come from that order was 1 green gas magazine... which doesn't fit the full autos. This has led me to believe that at least one metal frame is incompatible with my full auto slides. Is this the case? Why the **** am I doing this? Because I have a Deadpool cosplay and the holsters are sculpted to fit his Desert Eagles that have a railed barrel like the XIX but no under rail. I don't particularly want to drill the rail rivets out and would much prefer to replace the entire plastic frame with a metal one. Hopefully that makes sense. Apologies it's a bit specific but I was on the cusp of buying two full metal semi-auto versions, just for the frames, when that magazine mis-fit gave me pause. Included is a pic of DPs gun. I want that, but full auto, full metal, CO2 powered. Can it be done? Cheers in advance

I will certainly be in touch. I'm definitely gonna want a pink mag belt... for when I use it. π
-
I had a look at that but where I got 'P-Chan' at a really good price, there's no chance I can get the VP for less than Β£300. π She'd see right through it and know I really bought it for myself. And what should be a "Cheers honey. That's really thoughtful." would probably become a "You spent HOW MUCH? On a pink toy gun?!" π

Ha! As if... Here's a true story: When I joined these boards 15 years ago, my username was 'Bison Hunter' because I desperately wanted an airsoft Bison (Bizon). I even got a guy here (Matt Bond) to make me a custom one out of a Beta Spetsnaz. I eventually left the hobby and came back this year, now my lad's old enough to play. I was gutted to find I'd missed the Bizon train. So when my wife said she wanted a pink SMG, I found that exact gun, on that exact listing... and was gutted all over again to have missed it. It's great to know it's still in service and has had some new makeup. Small world. Turns out the P90 I got her is from an animΓ© called Gun Gale Online, a spin-off of Sword Art Online and thanks to Netflix, it's our new family TV series... educational AND pink. π
-
I've been trying to encourage my wife to join me and my lad airsofting. She mockingly said she'd only come if she could have a pink gun... Challenge accepted. π The pink sling's still to arrive but the rest is good to go. I'm particularly happy with the spring loaded (red) red dot sight, which is an absolute pig to search for online.

This reminds of the the original concept behind British Army MTP... MOD: "We have DPM and desert that give us 90% camo in woodland and desert environs. But we have to buy the squaddies two sets of rig..." PJHQ: "Check this pattern out. It gives us 70% camo in BOTH environs, so we only have to buy 1 set of rig." MOD: "Take my money." PJHQ: "Cheers. You know, the Yanks are working on the same concept." MOD: "For real? It must be good. Take my wife's money too." PJHQ: "Cheers. By the way, they have this 'Future Soldier' concept too which looks pretty cool." MOD: "HOW MUCH? Naaaah mate. We'll just take the cam. The lads can navigate with a map and compass and Bowman's got another 20 years left." Sorry. Your 'borrower' pics sent me off on one there. π
