  1. Just tried with precock still does it it's definitely the spring I can hear a ting after each shot. Precock does reduce it slightly
  2. How much would my fps drop if I remove the bearing
  3. Yes piston has bearings, when I clipped the spring I heated it till red hot pushed it against a flat surface so it flattened out a bit and then I sanded it so it wasn't totally round
  4. Mine sounds like it's coming from inside the gearbox I think I might be the spring because the gears are shimmed to perfection the motor height is spot on
  5. So I have done a few upgrades on my arp9 and now when I shoot it rings like a bell. I have had a couple of full day skirmishes and it was a pleasure to use but this ringing is really annoying me. The changes I made were a new compression set stock cylinder short stroked 13:1 gears M120 spring with a coild and a bit removed Rocket bearing spring guide Stock motor 155mm prometheus barrel
  6. When I shoot the nozzle stays retracted like it is precocking
  7. I have an arp9 that is my project gun that I bought with a dead mofset I have replaced the trigger and mofset with a perun v2 hybrid added some 13:1 gears that are short stroked by 3 teeth a new compression set and thrust bearing spring guide, 155mm prometheus barrel and I've stuck with the stock motor. It came with an m115 spring in it and with .25 I was getting 263fps so I have ordered a m125 spring to bring me up to 295 ish. I'm having an issue where the nozzle rests in the pre cock position no matter what level of active breaking I use I even tried decock and still no luck
  8. Compression sorted 155mm barrel and 60% cylinder plus I short stroked the stock gears by 2 to prevent any pme and with the stock spring I am now hitting 328fps in .025g bb's So going by the information on here that the stock spring is m120 so would an m110 or m105 get me down to 295 or just under on 0.25g bb's
  9. How long did you go? I'm looking at 141mm 6.01 lambda on3 barrels and 155mm 6.03 prometheus. 155mm is the max I could use and still keep my tracer unit on the front
  10. So I've bought an arp9 boneyard as the mofset was dead so I've replaced that and it's working perfectly except some obvious compression issues. I'm going to reshim it replace the piston, piston head and nozzle and stick with the stock gears as this is going to be my cqc gun and it seems to be snappy enough. I have no idea what the stock spring is and it's shooting at a max of 304fps on .25's but like I said the variation is huge in fps. Could someone give me some advice what spring this gun uses stock and what I could so to bring it down to my fps target of 330 on .20 bb's?
  11. I did try to call them today quiet a few times but no luck and emailed. Thought I would try my luck here as the stock of the blue super Ranger kit is low
  12. I wanted to know if anyone has ordered an arp9 in two tone from defcon airsoft as I wanted to know if its just the rail and stock that are painted as I was going to order the super Ranger accessory kit to match
  13. Cheers, the price of my local retailer is £175 so a lot more than £100. In the description it stated metal and polymer mix I think it's a metal upper polymer lower. Was going to grab one for some cqb as my m4 is too bulky and chrono's well over the Epsom tunnels 330 limit
  14. So I'm now looking to buy myself a second gun aimed more towards cqb and I've seen the JG MP5A3 SWAT and wondered if anyone owns or has had a play with one as I cannot find any reviews anywhere and I'm after an honest option of build quality and reliability ect
  15. Will I need to replace the nozzle
  16. So took my newly fixed gun for a game and it was great it shot perfectly try other than after 40 or 50 meters it would curve left but my mates stock gun dis something similar so thought nothing of it. Just took it apart to thoroughly clean the barrel and found this on my nozzle only on the top left and it's the same inside my hop unit
  17. Ive done some measurents and calculations and I think I'm fine my current cylinder to barrel volume ration is 1.92:1
  18. Yes all scratched like something had scraped across the bottom
  19. I did and some air seal issues so replaced the plastic set with aluminium including an xt cylinder the gun now fires flawlessly my feeding issues are gone it's perfect with fps variances no more than around 5fps. I did notice that my stock broken cylinder only had the port on one side but the xt had 4 after some googling I found my stock was a 3/4 cylinder so wanted to make sure this is not an issue
  20. GI'm a bit confused around cylinder sizes, my rifle has a 290mm inner barrel so using the guide on the store page I purchased a 60% cylinder and installed it (old one died) now I've found out the stock one was a 75%. Bearing in mind my stock barrel length was only 270mm was my rifle over volume and will my current cylinder size cause me issues
  21. Perfect cheers guys that's exactly what I wanted to hear
  22. So my gun is back up and running perfectly with no feeding issues or anything so in the interest in preserving the gearbox as much as possible I wanted to know if precocking is bad for the gearbox?
  23. Cheers buddy, I think my plan is to gwt this up and running and then grab a new gun ASAP and as you said keep this spare. Wish I had found this forum before I got my gun as you guys have been brilliant and it would have saved me a lot of hassle, money and stress
  24. It was all stock bar the gears and mofset till this happened as the stock compression set was fine and had no issues but it all got totalled when the gearbox cracked. I tried to get a slot with luke from negative airsoft to fix it but he has a backlog of 3 months so I'm trying myself and hoping it works out
  25. 3 games 0900 to 1600 so I'm hoping that was just a lemon and the one I'm receiving will hold out longer. I have purchased the lonex pom mushroom head silent piston and rocket silent cylinder head which I am hoping help reduce some of the shock. I'm going to grab a retro arms hop u it as it is more stable than the plastic ZCI one I am using and has a rubber washer nozzle end which in theory should also help reduce shock plus my ZCI hop unit has terrible fitting with my maple leaf barrel it wobbles all over the place. Also hoping the different design of the retro arms feed tube might help with my feeding issues and be ready for the retro arms split gearbox when I get the money together to grab one
