So I got to quickly test them and.....

    I'm disappointed.

The AK now does 23 RPS on a 7.4v battery (it did 20 with the stock motor) but somehow the power has dropped to 0.3J whereas before it was doing 0.99...

The M4, does 20 RPS with the warhead and last time I checked it was doing 22 with the SHS.

If I plug a 11.1v in it does 30 but then the power dramatically drops because the nozzle can't keep up (this I knew already).

I'm pissed, to say the least, because they're not cheap.

Both motors are marked "M", does it stand for high speed (36k) or did I receive two standard speed ones?

You have just completely described the issue I am having with my arp9 since upgrading to my warhead base 27k my fps has dropped by around 40fps I tried sanding down my delayer chip no luck it's been driving me mad

That's a rather peculiar concern given how much you've spent on getting the ultimate speedQB winr8.  Worst case, your spring will tire out a bit and you'll drop maybe a fraction of a Joule, not really an issue in CQB.  The cost and time of replacing a spring whenever the clocks go forward or back is negligible compared to what you've already sunk into it.

Does the titan always complete a cycle even on auto?  Or could you just tap a few auto bursts at the end of day until you get a lucky happy ending on your piston position?

Yep the cycle completes and leaves the piston in exactly the same position.

I think it might be the delayer chip contributing to this as I think it stops the gear in what it believes to be the perfect position but the delayer chip is still preventing the tappet plate from moving forward it probably just needs to to stop a moment later to allow the nozzle to go forward

that looks to me like a warranty thing.

all precocking is is running the motor slightly longer than the usual cutoff point, you could acheive the same effect on a purely mechanical trigger by shifting the cam position.

mine certainly didn't explode or do anything out of the ordinary with precocking set to as high as it'd go without double firing.....

That's perfect cheers bud i will have a play whe  i get home, I recon a small amount of precock and no AB will allow the nozzle to rest properly. I don't mind the free precock but I want to ensure my gun  lasts as long as possible

Tear out all the internals and fit an HPA engine.

You seem intent on building a top-tier wanker gun with that setup, so why bother with all the hassle of AEGs in the quest for performance when you can just drop in an HPA engine, make a few tweaks and call it done?

I mean, all the cool kids roll with air hoses these days, right?

Nah its an arp9 so the short barrel means means I'm running an M125 spring so rps isn't that wankerish as all and it's my CQB gun so it tends to stay on semi and I just wanted instant trigger response which this give me. According to my gate titan my trigger response is 56ms

    yes you can?

some level of over-run is pretty typical in most pews, i wouldn't worry about it.

i did pull the grip on mine and trip the arl after a game, but then that was relatively easy on the e&l ak box and i was using all the precocking so it was slightly more needed.

Really on there website it says:

    PRE-COCKING

    SET TO: OFF

For best results pre-cocking should be set to off as this can interfere with the braking cycle of the motor and create undesired results.it is possible to use a small amount of pre-cocking in some cases but for the best uninterrupted operation we recommended turning this setting to off.

The way the nozzle rests is perfect precocking anyway but maybe if I use a small amount it might correct it

  5. So my build is:

    ARP9

13:1 zci gears short stroked 3 teeth + shs delayer chip

    New compression  set stock nozzle

    Gate titan advanced

    Warhead base 27k

    11.1v 30c lipo

I'm having an issue where the nozzle is always in the precocking position no matter what percentage active breaking I use even adaptive that is supposed to put the nozzle in the resting position

It's a warhead motor so I can't use precock anyway.

I don't want to leave my gun with the spring constantly under stress anyone have any ideas what is causing this and how I can fix it

  6. Ive already replaced the piston head with a gearparts pom, piston with a zci cnc 14 tooth one, cylinder head with an fps softair one. These were all parts i had left from previous builds that got chnaged.

I also ordered a new zci 363mm barrel because the aluminium one it came with was appalling

  7. So I managed to grab a CM16 SRXL from used airsoft for £80 boxed like new but was only shooting 210fps. I fixed this instantly by replacing the old style hop unit with a zci rotary and a new spring.

Now this is my 4th rif and I have decided that this could be my DMR build but I wanted to know if this platform is suitable

You legend I had no idea that 1911 slide locks are the same spec as hi capa, just grabbed one bow thanks for the help

  9. So just installed my shiny new warhead base 27k motor and it occasionally locks up in semi and I have to go to full auto to clear it. I have a perun v2 hybrid so it not feathering it just makes a clicky crunchy noise.

I initially thought my anti reversal latch had gone so I checked swapped it but the issues remains

    That's nuts 76 day delivery time :(

What is this rail system called i have a 3d printer i can print some while i wait, i cant find anything under 416 rails or smr rails

  11. So I purchased the specna arms sa-h12 and it is an absolute beautiful gun the quality is superb and I have no ideabwhy specna arms ditched e&c but I now have a problem it has no picatinny rail segments and I am having trouble finding any so I can attach a foregrip.

Could someone please point me in the right direction as to where I can buy some

  12. Im looking for a base platform that I can install some 13:1 gears perun v2 and warhead motor  and new compression set if needed.

This will be gun number 3 I have 2 spares so I can play around as needed.

I have found a nice look specna arms SA-H12 One series all metal rif and its priced at £250 but I can also get an edge 2.0 for the same price so.......

Should I grab the one for its e&c gearbox or the edge 2.0

  13. I had a specna edge 1st gen and the gearbox cracked and blew the piston out after a few skirmishes which is why I kind of ruled them out.

Is the edge V2 any better or does it still use the shit gearbox?

The Classic Army in dark bronze does look beautiful and the body locking mechanism is nice I have just never touched one before I've only ever teched in a cyma, specna arms and g&g u can get the Classic Army for around £350 with a discount I have for surplus store but I ideally want to rip it all out and upgrade it so a cheaper one would make more sense

Action Army? You mean Classic Army right?

I wouldn't buy any of them TBH.

    Reasons:

    - G&G. Pretty much a mildly-upgraded £150 Combat Machine stuffed into a metal body with a stupid price tag. Desperately lacking in features for the cost (no QC Spring for example). G&G are rapidly pricing themselves out of the market, especially as they have recently announced new price increases across the board.

    - Classic Army. Struggling to stay relevant in a world full of decent replicas. I hear that the compression parts on the higher-end models might be 'bore up' sized, if so upgrade/replacement options might be limited. Not 100% on that though, so I suggest a bit of research first.

    - Ares is just, well, Ares. Proprietary wank with questionable reliability on the internals. Looks good on the outside though .

For similar money you could be buying Kytac, KWA, or higher-end ICS - each admittedly have their own proprietary 'quirks' but have better support than Classic Army/Ares.

If you are planning to perform serious upgrades to any gun you buy, there's not much point pitching your budget where you are at the moment. May as well buy a cheaper gun from the outset and build it how you want it.

But you won't do that. Because this is Airsoft. And people never want to hear sensible ideas.

Nope I am well up for that idea I've just struggled to find an all metal RIF with a decent gearbox that I can gut and upgrade myself but i am open to any recommendations.

I had bad experiences with specna arms so I have pretty much ruled them out. I absolutely love the look of the classic army and Ares and love the locking back bolt catch but they are at the upper end of my budget and the ares is proprietary and I have been told the internals might be a bit shite.

Ideally I want a nice shell with gearbox that isn't made of paper that I can install higher end parts in

  15. Ok I'm stuck between 3 guns that are within my current budget they are:

    G&G warthog GC6 9"

    Action Army nemesis LS12

    Ares type X M4 9"

I wanted to also know if the action army is easy to upgrade with titan or perun with faster gears.

If I went for the warthog I have a perun v2 hybrid I can install in it.

I know the Ares is a nightmare to upgrade so that would stay stock.

  16. Hmm thanks for that, I was planning on chucking a perun mofset in whatever gun I grabbed as I have a v2 hybrid lying around so the proprietary stuff is definitely a deal breaker for me.

I am in love with the cerecoated bronze look so wanted one of those tan has never been my thing.

Are there any other M4/AR15 guns with bronze reciever and rail
