  1. This advert is COMPLETED!

    • For sale
    • Used

Sorry about the upside down image - no matter what I do I just can't get it to go the right way round 🙃 £450 or nearest reasonable offer, +p&p (if required). X1 Ares SLR. X6 Mid Cap Mags X1 Hi Cap. X1 XL Nuprol P&P Hard Case. Optional: - X1 Tamyia/Deans adaptor (I will throw this in if the buyer wants it, if not I will keep it). - OEM box and cleaning rod etc if wanted (if not I will throw it). Notes on sale: I am selling all items listed to one seller, I will not sell it 'in bits'. No trades please. PM me directly for any offers. I will keep the for add/auction up for two weeks. PayPal payments only. P&P is not included in the price, this will be discussed and agreed between myself and the buyer (in case of pick up) so please assume your offer PLUS any p&p. Reason for sale: Purchased for Film Simming at a site I no longer attend plus I tore both my rotator cuffs and need something smaller and lighter (you may have noticed - the SLR is quite a big unit!). Condition: Used once for a morning of gaming at my preffered site then swapped it out for a less heavy piece of kit owing to my poorly arms. - SLR is stock, as purchased. No modifications. - FPS is c.250. - Note it is (I think) a Japanese market SLR (I bought it just before they went out of stock eveywhere, about a few months before covoid). - Happy to provide a vid of the SLR firing if the buyer requires it. Notes on proof of age/ID: I will be requesting proof of age and address as well as the name of a site I can contact to confirm you play there (per the rules and guidelines provided by the Forum). I have provided a patch from the site I play at and am a member at if anyone wishes to enquire as to my airsoft background.

  2. Hi there, While I agree with a lot of the advice above, to answer your OP; I use A2 Airsoft Supplies as they are my local supplier, but SOCOM Tactical and Dave's Custom Airsoft are also reliable (Daves for more advanced stuff I would suggest?). For what it's worth, as a suggestion I would go for either an Ares M4 dirivitive or a Nuprol M4 derivative. I am not 100% sure why others seem so down on Nuprol AEGs, but I assume this is because they had a bad reputation about 5-10 years back? A friend of mine bought one of the 'new' Nuprol M4 dirivitives when I started about two years ago. It's really nice, snappy, shoots well and is a relatively inexpensive unit that works well with lots of different mags. My mates Nuprol has not skipped a beat in 2 years. By comparison, I did the opposite of what a lot of people suggested when I asked a similar question when I started out and jumped straight in by getting a Tokyo Marui HK416. While its is a good AEG and has worked perfectly since I got it, its also nearly three times the cost of a Nuprol equivalent (once you have bought a few mags). My 416 does not shoot noticeably better in terms of range or accuracy. Their new range (that my mate got) seems very good from what I have seen heard in my mates one and I think if I had my time again I would go for the Nuprol my mate got. In terms of Ares, I dont have one myself (yet - waiting for lockdown to end), but I have heard nothing but good things about them. Also relatively inexpensive. I am quite looking forward to getting my little compact AM007 (although I would suggest you get a full length AEG not a compact). Hope this helps? -S
  3. Hi everyone. I am looking for peoples views on these two Ares compact AEGs. Perhaps ironically (while noone can get out to play) I am looking at a small compact to run in CQB and for a bit of fun. I have narrowed it down to two Ares AEGs (ARP9 was a close third but I didnt like the stock unit system). I like the modulatity of the M45x, I can run it compact and if I want/need a longer barrel I can quickly swap and put on one of the longer barrels on the same day. I also like the M-LOK rails available and the drum mag option. The down side for me is the pistol mags, which I dont really like and also struggle to safely put into ammo pouches. In the other hand, Ares do the AM007. This is equally compact and while it does not have the modular versatility of the M45x it is equally compact and I like that it uses M4 mags. I dare say I could find a drum mag for it somewhere? Does anyone have any experience with either of these AEGs or (better yet) has anyone used/lived with both? Opinions (informed or otherwise) welcome. -Sharpe
  4. Well, I've broke and got a 2nd rif after saying I never would. So I will soon be the proud owner of: - Krytac Kriss Vector Ltd Edition, with; - 6.03mm prometheous tightbore barrel and Prometheus air seal - x6 Krytac Vector mags - x3 double p90 mag pouches (each one holds x2 vector mags 👍) - x2 Nurprol 11.1v, 1450 mah lipos Many thanks to Tom at LandWarrior for sorting me out. Now if only I could find one of those (short) angrygun ksv supresseors! - Sharpe
  5. I bought my TM hk416 devgru as my first gun for airsofting this Jan. While I have nothing to compare it to in terms of other rifs owned i have to say I really like it. Works perfectly every time, shoots really well and seems to have very good range and accuracy. My mates (that have been airsofting for many years) say it's very good. I can't say if they are worth the money as i have little to compare it to, but I do like mine a lot - Sharpe.
  6. So, after many questions and sucking of teeth I have finally done it. First gun bought - TM HK416d DevGru. Got it with: - x5 PTS-EMP 120/30 rnd mags (plus the stock mag that comes with it) - Magpul style AFH mk2 angled foregrip - Magpul style CTR stock (drilled out by the retailer to fit the battery) - x3 Nurprol 7.4v 1100mah lipo (converted for deans, as is the 416) - Nurprol hard case Particular thanks to Dave at Daves Custom Airsoft for helping me out with the order and stupid noobie questions - great guy, great store and great service, take a look at this site HERE Also, very many thanks to all those that helped answer all my questions on this forum. For those that posted about the Scorpion, it was touch and go all the way and I very nearly got it! But particualr thanks to Druid799 on these forums who has been really REALLY helpful! - Hope to see some of you out on the skirmish sites - Sharpe
