  1. do people usually run comms on a sunday skirmish? debating if its worth getting a pair of comms capable ear pro, or just run a bog standard walkers razor or howard leights and invest into comms later

I didn't know anyone that played airsoft until I started to play airsoft.  Fellow fanatics find each other.

Play well at the same site for a while and you'll soon get together with like minded people/loons.

Playing themed games gets you into friendships too.  I share a frequency with a lot of people these days!

I have a pair of the Honeywell / Howard Leigh ones that are mainly for hearing protection.

I can run a 3.5mm cable from the fist mic to one side if I want but I am tending to just run my UV-5R on the shoulder of my rig harness (where the fist mic would be anyway!) and avoid the cable spaghetti / faff.

Not too worried about players nearby hearing my radio (turn beeps off!) as they are usually pretty oblivious at the best of times :)

Me and my old man use them, purely for the sake of if he needs me for anything (health related) he can radio instantly or somebody else can on his behalf (He keeps the radio visible on his belt), and I know the situation and to get to him ASAP. Sometimes a few of us run comms for the "tactical" sake but for skirmishes it always ends up neglected as we tend to be within distance of each other anyway. Milsim is where they shine, for obvious reasons!
